BTS V, also known as Kim Taehyung, won hearts with his appearance in Season 1 of Jinny’s Kitchen as an intern, but his absence from Season 2 left fans eager for his return.

Having enlisted in the military in December 2023, the beloved BTS member was unable to continue in the show’s second season, but recent comments from the show’s co-director, Park Hyun-Yong, have sparked speculation about whether he could make a comeback in Season 3.

BTS V’s Role in Jinny’s Kitchen Season 1

In Jinny’s Kitchen, BTS V took on the role of an intern, adding a unique charm to the show’s dynamic with his enthusiasm and lively personality. The series, which blends reality TV with a cooking show format, became immensely popular, largely thanks to V’s participation. His presence brought not only BTS fans but also broader audiences to the series, further elevating its appeal. However, after being called to serve his mandatory military duty, V had to step away, creating a void that many fans felt throughout Season 2.

What Has Co-Director Park Hyun-Yong Said About V’s Return?

During an interview with Newsen on September 6, 2024, Jinny’s Kitchen co-director Park Hyun-Yong was asked about the possibility of BTS V rejoining the cast for the upcoming third season. Although he was unable to provide a definitive answer, his comments were enough to fuel anticipation.

“I don’t know yet,” Park Hyun-Yong admitted, adding, “I think I need to talk to PD Na Young-Seok. But if there are people looking for it, I think I can show them the results that match their expectations. There are people who are looking forward to it thanks to Taehyung-ssi (V). I think we’ll know when the time comes.”

While the co-director’s comments may seem non-committal, they certainly hint at the possibility of BTS V’s return. The fact that V remains such a significant figure in discussions around the show implies that the production team is aware of the demand for his comeback. Whether his schedule allows it and whether the production team can work it out remains to be seen, but fans have every reason to be hopeful.

Who Replaced V in Season 2 of Jinny’s Kitchen?

During Season 2 of Jinny’s Kitchen, V was replaced by actress Go Min-Si, who filled the role of the intern. Go Min-Si, a familiar face in popular K-dramas like Sweet Home, Love Alarm, and Youth of May, brought her own flair to the series. Additionally, she made her mark in the film Smuggler, building a solid reputation in the industry.

Na Young-Seok, the producer of Jinny’s Kitchen, explained the casting choice, noting that they needed a youthful actor to replace V. “We thought a lot about it. We looked up a lot to pick someone young. Min-Si appeared to be a wonderful actress who is building her career firmly,” Na PD said in a previous interview. He also highlighted her diverse background, revealing that Min-Si had worked as a wedding planner before her acting career took off.

Her versatility and ability to adapt to new environments made Go Min-Si a fitting choice to step into the demanding role, but fans of BTS V couldn’t help but miss his energy and presence on the show.

V’s Advice for His Replacement

Despite his absence, BTS V left a heartfelt message for Go Min-Si after learning she would be taking over his role in Jinny’s Kitchen. In December 2023, he posted on X (formerly Twitter) to advise the new intern: “Don’t be slow. You’re going to have to be a bit quicker and make sure to do your job as the newbie.”

Go Min-Si responded to V’s advice during a press conference for Season 2. “I’m not sure if I was fast enough, but I hope he enjoyed watching it,” she said. “I will also wait for the day to meet him. Take care in the army. Good luck!”

Her comments resonated with fans, who appreciated the light-hearted exchange between the two stars. However, many still hoped that BTS V would eventually return to the show and reclaim his spot as the charming intern.

What Can Fans Expect in Season 3?

With BTS V now finished with his military service, fans are eager to see him return to the spotlight, especially in Jinny’s Kitchen Season 3. While nothing has been confirmed yet, Park Hyun-Yong’s comments suggest that there is a real possibility of seeing him back on-screen. Should the production team manage to bring him back, it would undoubtedly be a major event for both the show’s viewers and the global BTS fanbase.

As fans continue to speculate and hope for his return, it’s clear that BTS V’s participation in Jinny’s Kitchen has left an indelible mark. Whether he joins the cast again or not, the excitement surrounding his potential return is proof of his lasting influence on the show.

With Season 3 on the horizon, viewers will have to wait and see if BTS V makes his much-anticipated comeback, bringing with him the charm and energy that made Season 1 a hit.
