Break clause in Mourinho’s Tottenham contract; Gareth Bale Madrid return details

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast, there is no break clause in Mourinho’s contract with Tottenham Hotspur. Hence, should they want to do away with the Portuguese tactician, they will have to wait till he finds a new club.

But despite the news of a break clause coming out and Spurs being knocked out of the Europa League in the Round of 16 by bottling a 2-0 lead, the London club is reportedly with Mourinho and will be hoping for the situation to change. There has been a lot of criticism on Mourinho’s approach to the game, and how he prioritises defence.

The main point of discontent is the accusation that Mourinho’s style of play is supposedly outdated and how he should try to approach the game from a new, more attacking point of view instead of relying on having 11 men behind the ball and breaking on the counter as he has done with almost every club that he’s managed.

Keeping to the topic of Tottenham, but moving to the players, Gareth Bale recently had a press conference on international duty for Wales wherein he discussed the prospect of going back to Real Madrid when his loan deal expires.

His season hasn’t been as good as fans, or he himself would have hoped for it to be and whether or not Zidane will be the manager will also determine the situation for the Wales captain at Madrid. Zidane and Bale never really got along even at the highest point, and it might be certain that the player would want to leave, or would be made to leave if Madrid put their faith in Zizou for another season at least.
