1. Mumbai Indians – 83 million dollars
The No.1 team in the Indian premiere League is undoubtedly the strongest one. They have won the title five times, which is the highest by any franchise. Popular players who have been associated with the franchise are Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbajan Singh, Ricky Ponting, and others. Though their campaign failed miserably in 2022 but still their brand value increased by four percent. Their value in the market is now at 83 million dollars
2. Kolkata Knight Riders – 76.8 million dollars
KKR has created a good amount of news due to their owner Megastar Shah Rukh Khan but the team has also shown its potential on the field. They won the IP title in 2012 and 2014 and ended up as runner-up in 2021. Their value raised up after the 2021 edition and currently, the franchise is worth 76.8 million dollars.
3. Chennai Super Kings – 73.6 million dollars
CSK is one of the strongest teams that has been led by MS Dhoni since its inception. CSK won a total of four times and reached the finale nine teams. Players like Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shane Watson have been associated with the franchise. The rift between Jadeja and the management dipped their value but still, it’s at 73.6 million dollars.
4. Royal Challengers Bangalore – 68 million dollars
This franchise is star-studded with cricketers like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell. Kohli who was the skipper of the team till 2021, has a huge fan base. On social media, he’s the most followed cricketer in the world. RCB’s brand value increased since the 14th edition and currently its worth is 68 million dollars. They haven’t won a trophy but ended as runners-up in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
5. Delhi Capitals – 62.4 million dollars
The fifth spot is taken by Delhi Capitals. They haven’t won the trophy yet but in the last four seasons, they have got good attention for their performance. In 2020, they reached the finale but got defeated by Mumbai Indians. Due to the improvement in their performance, their brand value has risen since the 14th edition by 11% and reached 62.4 million dollars.
6. Rajasthan Royals – 61.3 million dollars
Rajasthan Royals have been a part of IPL since 2008 and have given some memorable matches. They have won the IPL trophy once and last year they ended up as runners-up. Due to their last year’s performance, their brand value increased by 78% since 2021 and they stand at a brand value of 61.3 million dollars. The team has star players like Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
7. Sunrisers Hyderabad – 48.8 million dollars
The franchise started its journey in IPL nine years ago, in 2013. The lifted the Cup in 2016 and have been consistent in the Indian premiere League. In the past two seasons, they didn’t have a good performance in 2021 or 2022 which affected their brand value. Their brand value stands at 48.8 million dollars.
8. Gujarat Titans – 47.4 million dollars
Gujarat Titans was a new entrant in IPL 2022 and under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, they won their first season in IPL. GT grabbed the right eyeballs and acquired a loyal fanbase. Standing at the eighth position, their brand value is 47.4 million dollars.
9. Punjab Kings – 45 million dollars
The Punjab Kings have been playing in the league for a long time but couldn’t manage to win even a single season. Apart from 2008 and 2014, they have had an average performance in other seasons. Presently, their brand value is 45 million dollars. Considering, it’s one of the oldest franchises, the value isn’t at par. They bought Sam Curran at Rs. 18.50 crore and will hope to lift the Cup for the first time in 2023.
10. Lucknow Super Giants – 31.8 million dollars
LSG made its entry into IPL in 2022 after RPSG won its rights with 940 million dollars approximately. Under the leadership of KL Rahul, the team won nine out of fourteen league matches and ended in the fourth position after being defeated by RCB. If it continues to repeat its same performance in the following years, it will become one of the most popular teams in IPL. In the first year itself, they acquired 31,8 million dollars, which is not a bad deal.
