Eluktronics to launch the world’s first gaming laptop with 1440p 165 Hz display

This year we saw many premium laptops and notebooks being launched and announced. The high-end devices had all extreme specs that piqued everyone’s interest. Initially, we had up to 1080p resolution displays, but now premium laptop lineups easily rock 4K displays, be they OLEDs or LCDs.

We also have the 1440p standard, but it is currently exclusive to desktop systems. According to sources, 1440p screens should be making a comeback as the new standard for gaming laptops.

Eluktronics to launch laptops with 1440p display with 165 Hz refresh rate

Laptop OEMs have always ignored the 1440p standard since 4K is now becoming mainstream in the TV world. However, Eluktronics is the first laptop OEM to introduce the new 1440p 165 Hz displays from BOE. The laptops are only $50 more expensive to produce than their 1080p variants.

The new 1440p screens are quite bright at 318 nits. And they cannot offer HDR support for now. They come with a high refresh rate, which is at 2.5 ms response time. The resolution has some downsides, though, and it is related to scaling. If one is forced to switch to 1080p, the image becomes a bit fuzzy and is less sharp than even a native 1080p display. The battery also gets used up a lot faster in the 1440p display, but it is certainly not as apparent as in the case of 4K displays.

Since OEMs are going for a more power-efficient laptop, it is worth seeing other prominent laptop OEMs announcing 1440p options. The mobility Ampere and RDNA2 GPUs’ launch should lower the prices for the graphics cards, making the starting prices for the 1440p laptops more palatable. Innovation is a must in the technology industry, and Eluktronics taking the next step in display technology is assuring.

Erling Haaland just cannot stop scoring in the Champions League!

Erling Haaland reinforced his credentials as the next best talent on the world football stage with a UEFA Champions’ League brace against Club Brugge, that saw the match finish 3-0 in favour of Borussia Dortmund and put one step into the qualification for the knockouts stage which will commence in February.

Earlier this week, Haaland received more good news when he was crowned the “Golden Boy of the Year” finishing comfortably ahead of second placed Ansu Fati of FC Barcelona. Undoubtedly, it is not hard to see why the talented striker received the accolade. 


The 20-year-old Norwegian has been on the scouts’ and agents’ lists ever since he emerged playing in the second division of the Norwegian football league. But, his presence was first noticed in his debut season for RB Salzburg where he struck a Champions’ League goal against Liverpool and made his mark.

Eventually, the list of big clubs interested in him increased with Manchester United particularly close to sealing a deal only for the agent commissions breakdown that ended the negotiations. Haaland then moved to Dortmund and has since been sensational, with a record of 15 goals in 12 CL games overall across both the clubs.

No wonder he is getting all the praise in the world ahead of a bright future for Haaland, which could see him secure a move to one of the biggest clubs in football and also become the best in the world at some point in the future.

Xiaomi retains its No.1 TV Brand in China for 7th consecutive quarters

The Chinese smartphone maker has extended its smartphone market and is already into various AIoT products, including Smart TVs. Although it’s been a few years only since it has launched its TV business, the brand, with its competitive pricing, has captured its home market for quite a long time now.

Recently it has emerged to be the No.1 TV Brand in China as per the financial report for the third quarter of the year. The report went on to show that Xiaomi’s IoT and consumer products segment has increased by 16.1% from just 15.6 billion yuan recorded in the third quarter of 2019 to 18.1 billion yuan recorded in Q3 2020. 

Xiaomi is among the few brands that can dominate the AIoT market with its variety of smart solutions. Nevertheless, it has captured the Indian market too, and its recent notebook sales also is a major revenue booster.

In China, the sales for its Smart TVs and notebooks rose from 5.8 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2019 to 5.9 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2020 despite the pandemic. This is as much as YoY growth of 2.6% and the report also showing that Xiaomi has shipped almost 3.1 million units of Mi TVs in Q3 itself, highest ever by any brand.

The shipping estimates published by the market research firm Avi Cloud (AVC) show that Xiaomi has maintained its consistency apart for seven straight quarters in China. It is predicted that Xiaomi’s smart TV shipments will be continuing to rank among the top five across the globe.

iQOO is mainly known for its high-range premium smartphones. But as per a recent report, iQOO is going to launch an affordable smartphone in the upcoming days. However, a model number iQOO V2054A has already appeared on the TENAA certification website. So, it is said that this will be the next affordable U-series smartphone from iQOO. The main thing about this phone is it supports 5G connectivity. This might be the first U-series phone of iQOO to feature 5G connectivity. Let’s check out what the users are going to get from this upcoming iQOO V2054A.

This phone will run on the latest Android 11 OS and will get powered by an octa-core chipset (the name of the chipset has not been revealed by the company). Regarding the display, this phone has a 6.58-inch LCD punch-hole display (1080p+ resolution) with an aspect ratio of 20:9.

The processor of this phone is paired with three different RAM variants (4GB/6GB/8GB) and a single internal storage variant of 128GB (with no card slot for expansion). Coming to the camera section, this phone has a dual rear camera module which includes a 13MP primary sensor along with a 2MP sensor (supported by an LED flash). For the selfies, this phone offers an 8MP selfie snapper at the front. The rear camera setup can record videos at 4K resolution.

Regarding the battery, this phone is fueled by a quite decent battery backup of 4,910mAH. As of now, it is not confirmed how much fast charging the company will produce with it. As per the V2019A, it has a slightly bigger battery with the support of 18W fast charging.

As per some reports, Oppo is going to launch two new smartphones in the upcoming days. As of now, Samsung has not revealed the retail names of those two phones. The two model numbers: Oppo PECM30 & PECT30 have been listed on the Geekbench website and on the TENAA’s certification website. So, let’s check out what are the specifications those two smartphones are going to offer to the users.

These phones run on the Android 10 OS and are powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 720 chipset. Regarding the display, this phone features a 6.5-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) single punch-hole display. This phone looks pretty slim, with a thickness of 7.9mm. Regarding the dimension, this phone measures 162.2 mm x 75.0 mm x 7.9 mm. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on its right side. The volume rocker and the SIM card slot can be witnessed on the left side of the phone.

Indian Premier League 2020 ended just a few weeks ago and Mumbai Indians became the champion for the record 5th times this year. But BCCI and IP Governing Council already started to plan about the next year’s IPL.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly hinted at the return of IPL in India in 2021. IPL 2020 was held in UAE because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. But it might be back in India again next year after Sourav Ganguly told this as “it is a tournament for India”.

“We are very much trying because it is a tournament for India. People spoke about the success of the IPL, I told all of them that you have to be in India to see what IPL is to India.”-Ganguly said.

“Domestic season will start shortly. India is touring England (in 2021). It’s a lot easier having bilateral series because the number of people is much less. When it gets to eight teams or more, it is difficult. We are trying to hold the IPL in India but we have to assess the situation. Many are talking about a second wave, I have heard the numbers have gone up in Mumbai and Delhi. So, we have to monitor it and ensure that things are in order.”- Ganguly added.

IPL was super successful this season as declared by BCCI earlier. Fans are expecting some new changes next year as well. If it is finally back in India again then it will be highly exciting for sure.

We all are excited about the release of Cyberpunk 2077. With various delays, the CD PROJECT RED’s game has fans worldwide at the edge of their seats. The first-person open-world match is rumored to cover even larger territory than Witcher 3, but the latest news has everyone baffled.

The massive first-person game is said to offer a total playtime of 175:43 hours. The news was first released by a journalist Babiel on Twitter. Another baffling information is that the game duration hours are still 175 even though they have not fully completed the game. Seriously it is going to be a lengthy one there, mates.

Several journalists had hands-on time with the game, indicating a rather meaty title here to spend time with. The game offers a wide variety of vehicles, weapons, side missions, and main quests that appear to be in the showcases. There is also a vast world teeming with a personality to check out, similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

After several delays and pushbacks, the game is finally set to drop on December 10 across most platforms. Apart from journalists’ previews, CD Projekt RED has kept much of the game close to its chest beyond a few gameplay videos and Night City Wire episodes. So most of the stuff about the Night city is still unknown. But since Keanu was the one who announced the game in the first place, we know to expect great things from the title.

Hitman 3 brings a new location- Chongqing, China

IO Interactive has introduced a new location for Hitman 3, the upcoming third game of the Hitman series.

The developers have added Chongqing, China in the game, which looks like a rainy city having many food stands, shops, and a neon-drenched transportation hub. Plenty of exciting missions are waiting and IO Interactive’s Glacier Engine will show the fine animations, improved lighting effects, and reflections.

The company has said that this time the Agent 47 is being soaked by the rain and being battered with raindrops, even the whole Chongqing city will be full of water effects. In the official ‘Under the Hood’ trailer, we have seen how much high-quality contents are present in the game.

In the new trailer, it is shown that Hitman 3 can be run at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR support. Previously the devs have confirmed that the game will support Ray Tracing, which will reinforce the visual effects. Also, it has to be seen, if the game can handle continuous crowds of up to 300 NPCs in one location.

The players are allowed to import a maximum of 20 locations in Hitman 3 from the previous two games. You don’t have to worry about the graphics, it will improve throughout all three games. This feature is a good one to attract the players who have missed this secret Agent’s previous stories. Now, they can experience the total Hitman trilogy.

Hitman 3 will be officially released on January 20, 2021. The game is going to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One,  and Stadia.
