Behind the scenes of the David Alaba transfer saga

0

David Alaba has confirmed that he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the current season, and it’s a big announcement. Talks with Real Madrid have been going on, which has been the case since the beginning of January.

His agent is talking with five different clubs, namely, PSG, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Madrid, regarding his client’s services. Liverpool made an important bid from an economic point of view, and Chelsea did too. Many bids have come from the two Premier League teams, while Manchester City has remained rather quiet regarding their interest in the player.

A salary worth €12 million has been agreed for four years with Real Madrid, which will allow Austrian to stay at the Spanish capital until 2025. There have been rumors doing the rounds that Alaba was actually demanding a €20 million per season salary; however that is not true.

Commissions could push the price of the deal up, alongside the salary promised to the player. His priority is joining Real Madrid, as has been widely documented in recent times, but it is worth noting that anything can happen in situations like this.

Simeone hails Luis Suarez after superb debut

For example, Luis Suarez was supposed to join Juventus in the summer of 2020, while David Silva was expected to reach a total agreement with Lazio before they switched their destinations to Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad, respectively.

Real Madrid is still leading the race for the player due to his ambitions of playing for them, and the contract could be signed in the next few days. However, no such agreement to sign the papers has been reached yet.

Square Enix’s Outriders is going to hit Stadia in early April

0

A brand new action RPG and shooter hybrid Outriders from Square Enix is coming for multiple platforms. The game will release on 1st April for all consoles, which indicates that the Stadia users don’t have to wait for more time than the other console players who get their hands early on the game. If you are willing to play on Stadia, you can dive into the game at the same time as everyone else.

Below, here is a glimpse that you can expect from Outriders, courtesy of the developer:

OUTRIDERS is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe. As humanity bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you’ll create your own Outrider and embark on a journey across the hostile planet.

With rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, you’ll leave behind the slums and shantytowns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains, and desert in the pursuit of a mysterious signal.

Combining intense gunplay with violent powers and an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets, OUTRIDERS offers countless hours of gameplay from one of the finest shooter developers in the industry – People Can Fly.

INTENSITY OF A SHOOTER

The brutal and bloody combat of the game creates frenetic gunplay, violent powers, and deep RPG to create an impressive genre hybrid.

A DARK AND DESPERATE JOURNEY

Explore the hostile planet of Enoch as you embark on a journey through the surface of a mysterious signal.

DYNAMIC 1-3 PLAYER CO-OP

You can play as a single-player or can join up to two players in the drop-in-drop-out co-op as you tackle the horrors of a hyper-evolved planet.

FOUR UNIQUE CLASSES

Create your own Outrider and customize as of your own with plenty of items of mod-able guns and gears.

Last year, wccftech wrote about Outriders:

“Outriders already looks like what a cross-gen shooter should be aiming to achieve in 2020. Particle effects scatter about with each explosion or glorified headshot, character models look almost as good in gameplay as they do during brief cutscenes, and it all runs smoothly on the high-end PCs we ran our preview demos on, even if the pre-beta build isn’t optimized yet. With Outriders being one of the first cross-platform games to bridge the game into the next generation of PlayStation and Xbox, this is one title to keep an eye on once People Can Fly is ready to talk about their plans for next-gen console gaming.”

Outriders is going to hit Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on April 1.

Indian audio market has grown immensely over the past few years. Thanks to Covid-19 pandemic, there will be hardly any corporate working household without a headset. Messi unhappy with Barcelona again; Koeman to be SACKED if Barcelona get knocked out by PSG

After Barcelona’s humiliating defeat to PSG in the Champions League, Messi’s final decision about his future could be one that fans won’t want to hear since he is not happy with things at the club.

Barcelona Presidential Candidate Joan Laporta said that Messi is not only looking for a big contract but also wants to win, most importantly. He is tired of such outrageous exits from European competition, with the ghosts of Roma, Liverpool and Bayern still haunting the Blaugrana, with PSG ominously waiting to be conjured.

The Argentinian wants to win, and that was the reason why he sent the burofax to Barcelona requesting a transfer. He lost faith in the club and realised he can’t win the coveted Champions League with the team that Barcelona have now.

Seeing a natural born winner like him like this is sad for football fans. The terrible feeling around him is that he wants to prove himself in a great team. He wants to play with top players. It’s not just about him performing, but about the team too. And the Champions League takes top priority.

With the Presidential elections coming up in March, the project at Barcelona is very important not only to fans who want a clear picture, but also to Lionel Messi for him to take a decision on his future at the club.

Moreover, speaking on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano stated that Ronald Koeman could be sacked if Barca lose against PSG which, all things considered, is more likely to happen than not.

Alessandro Florenzi is currently impressing heavily, on loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Roma. The Italian has been a vital part of the PSG squad and has been putting in tireless shifts on the right flank. The player wants to stay at his new home, according to Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon.

PSG also want to keep him, according to the Italian transfer guru’s latest episode, and the situation will unravel in the coming months. They want him as part of the squad for the next season.

Moving on to another deal that could finalise in the summer, Dele Alli was close to the club in January but nothing went down due to Spurs being unable to find a replacement. With that said, PSG still have him as a target for next summer. Manager Mauricio Pochettino was working with Alli closely at Spurs and was not allowed big transfers. They have since had a good relationship and could reunite if the French Champions manage to strike a deal for the Englishman.

Elsewhere, and to another Italian hero of the PSG squad, Moise Keane was written off from Everton, but he had Mino Raiola backing him and went to PSG on loan. The Parisians do not have a buy option for the player. He wasn’t performing at Everton, and hence, it was essential to send him out on loan for the best interests of all parties.

Juventus were trying to sign him on loan with buy option as a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who has since been rightfully replaced by Alvaro Morata at the club. Everton wanted a €45 million buy-back clause for Keane, which the Bianconeri refused to work with.

However, despite all that said, Moise Keane could work well with Everton and could star at Goodison Park next season. Carlo Ancelotti is an admirer of the Italian’s talents and could certainly use a player of his calibre and fresh experience.

PSG trying everything in their power to keep Kylian Mbappe

0

Kylian Mbappe, the only player in the history of Champions League football to score a hat-trick at Camp Nou in the knockout stages of the competition, is in contract talks with current club PSG, which is expiring in 2022.

The Frenchman wants a salary worth more than €25 million per season. When negotiating a contract like this, the club also has to pay big commissions such as agent fees and other payments that come along with a deal of such stature.

The President and owners of PSG have reportedly told Sporting Director Leonardo to do everything in their power to make sure that the player extends his contract with the club.

“I have always said that I am happy here. This sort of match makes me even happier. The PSG shirt is one that I hold dear to my heart,” the France international told RMC Sport in a postmatch interview.

“I am happy. I always want to give the best of myself. I have not always had that success but never in my life will I hide. Today, my hard work is paying off.”

“It would be stupid to decide my future on a single match. The truth is that it is about reflecting for the long term,” he said

While the PSG board will indeed try everything to keep him, it won’t be easy to reach a total agreement. Luis Campos picked him out as a future star during Mbappe’s time at Monaco and said he’d play for Real Madrid one day. How close that dream is to reality is something that is still uncertain.

Paris Saint-Germain have an important project, of which he wants to plan for the long term. Pandemic situation has stalled Madrid’s Mbappe pursuit, according to Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast.

James Harden leads Nets to historic comeback in win over Suns

0

With a Nets team missing both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Suns were heavily favoured at home but Brooklyn pulled off one of the most impressive comebacks of the season and won 128-124.

Phoenix jumped out a 33-22 lead in the first quarter while shooting 56.5% from the field. They were even better in the second, recording 42 points to grab a 75-54 halftime lead. By the end of the third quarter, Brooklyn sliced Phoenix’s lead to 100-88. The Nets would pull within 108-106 midway through the fourth after a corner three-pointer from Tyler Johnson but the Suns responded with a dunk from Deandre Ayton and another three from Mikal Bridges. It looked like they would regain control.

With 31 seconds on the clock, Harden’s three-pointer from a few feet beyond the arc gave the Nets their first lead of the game at 126-124 and he converted two more free throws with 11.3 seconds remaining to polish off the win. The Suns did not score over the final 2:48 of the game.

The Nets megastar had to play exceptionally with Kevin Durant out with a hamstring injury and Kyrie Irving held out with lower back tightness. His highest-scoring night as a Net ended with 38 points on 14-for-22 shooting from the floor (5-for-11 from deep) and 5-for-5 shooting at the free-throw line aiding his team in a huge comeback effort.

In 37 minutes, The Beard also wound up with yet another double-double, recording 11 assists. Harden now has four 30-plus-point, 10-plus-assist games as a Net — that’s the most by a Net in a single season. Devin Harris also had four in the 2008-09 season.

“All vibes in (the locker room) right now,” said Nets head coach Steve Nash. “Guys are rightfully excited, it’s great for morale. Missing Kevin and Kyrie and finding a way to make up a 24-point deficit. They showed a lot of heart.”

Brooklyn won its fourth straight game in a triumphant return to Phoenix for coach Steve Nash. The Suns had their six-game winning streak snapped. The Nets were also about to pull off their biggest halftime comeback since joining the NBA in 1976.

Barcelona suffer loss to Paris Saint-Germain at home

0

PSG joins the list of all other clubs to wreck out a Champions League ignominy on Barcelona with a vehement victory at the Camp Nou that pushed the French giants a step towards the qualification for the quarter-finals of the UCL and Barca’s European dreams in bits and pieces once again.

Kylian Mbappe, who was the star of the show and stole the headlines after his hat-trick, the stalwart, Frenchman rampaged against a Barca defense. The Catalans’ weakness at the defense line is no secret to all, Koeman is working on this and has improved a little in these matters, as Paris Saint-Germain crushed FC Barcelona 4-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round-of-16 fixture at Camp Nou.

Neymar’s absence through injury was good news and Gerard Pique’s return to the starting lineup after three months out of action was a relief, though none of it proved up to the mark.

Clement Lenglet was also struggling against Mbappe and seemed completely in a state of oblivion of Moise Kean’s presence on the pitch, who scored the fourth goal. Sergino Dest also had a tough match and, was eventually substituted by Oscar Mingueza. Sergio Busquets also made some mistakes and gave the ball away far too high up the pitch. Ousmane Dembele, who also committed defensive duties and provided space to Layvin Kurzawa.

Dembele failed to deliver badly at the other end, along with the Frenchman, Griezmann, who could’ve made it 2-0 in the first half but failed and attempted a tame shot at Keylor Navas. It was the worse night for Dembele who had been in great form in the Champions League with three goals and two assists in four games to his name before PSG.

Though Barcelona won a penalty when Layvin Kurzawa gawky tackle and brought down Frenkie de Jong in the box, so Barca Skip Lionel Messi stepped up calmly to lead by a goal up in the 27th minute. However, their happiness lasted just five minutes as PSG’s move ended with Mbappe’s dribble across the Barca defence firing past Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, though he produced several amazing saves throughout the first half.

In the second half, the visitors created a lot of chances, as stunning reflexes were made to deny Moise Kean, Kurzawa and Mauro Icardi’s attempts. However, PSG with another goal took the lead in the 65th minute.

Alessandro Florenzi gave in a magnificent cross into the box, and Mbappe was in the correct position to convert after Gerard Pique’s poor defense and clearance.

After this match, a lot of criticism will be faced by Barca and Koeman, including Pique’s poor defense, and most importantly, will Messi continue to stay at Barca? Can Barca make a come back like the last time? Indeed Barca could end up winning in the second leg if they are careful.
