Samsung’s new patent reveals an innovative under-display camera solution

For the past few years, Samsung has been working its best on the displays of smartphones, such as reducing its bezels, punch-hole selfie camera, AMOLED panel, and many more. The main motive is to get a full-screen immersive display without any obstacle like the front camera or bezels. As of now, Samsung has almost succeeded in getting almost bezel-less displays, but to get a full-screen experience there should be a vanishing of the front camera setup.

The only way to achieve a full-screen display has to be an under-display selfie camera what we’ve already seen in the ZTE Axon 20 5G, which is the first-ever smartphone in the world to feature an under-display selfie camera. Samsung also enlisted its name to make such kind of product that will have an under-display selfie camera.

samsung under display camera Samsung's new patent reveals an innovative under-display camera solution

In May 2020, Samsung Display had filed a patent titled ‘Display Device’ with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office), and later on December 31, 202, its documentation got published. The patent images are showing Samsung’s under-display camera implementation on its future smartphones.

In that solution, we find two display parts, in which, the first screen (primary) with a better resolution while the second screen has a comparatively lower resolution. For a change, the second part can also be replaced to the entire top side of the handset or any of the sides on top. These sections are specially designed for not only hiding the selfie camera but also the LED flash and sensors. As more light cannot enter underneath the display, this setup will use infrared rays to easily recognize objects/people. It is also well able to calculate the distance between the phone and the objects/people.

Collin Sexton is achieving feats that even LeBron James never did with the Cavaliers

Collin Sexton is silently emerging as one of the better point guards in the Eastern Conference. In eight games, which the Cavaliers have surprisingly navigated with a 4-4 record, Sexton is averaging more than 25 points per game on better than 53 percent shooting, including a 51 percent mark from the three-pointer line.

In Cleveland’s loss to Orlando on Wednesday, Sexton put up a 21-point performance. He has now scored a minimum of 20 points in all of the eight games to start the season, which is a Cavaliers franchise record. Even LeBron James could not do it during his time with Cleveland. The most number of consecutive 20-point games James tallied to begin a season with the Cavaliers was seven.

Sexton ended Wednesday’s 105-94 loss with 21 points on 8-of-20 shooting, to go along with two triples, three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and zero turnovers in 35 minutes of playing time. The only downside to his outstanding performance was that Cleveland was unable to escape with a win.

The budding star is in the midst of another breakout campaign and is currently averaging 25.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals, while also connecting on 2.0 triples per game on a 51.6 percent clip. He is arguably the best player in the Cavaliers franchise so far, who themselves have had a strong start to the new season. While his shooting appears to be unsustainable, the 22-year-old is not expected to fall too far off from his current shooting form.

Sexton is fully expected to keep up his hot streak as the Cavs return to action on Thursday in the second night of a back-to-back set, as they will take on the Memphis Grizzlies.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900H tested on a Mechrevo laptop

AMD will showcase its new Zen-3 based Ryzen 9 5900H CPU and Nvidia will do the same for its GeForce RTX 30 series Graphics cards. We have seen many benchmark results of both the hardware components, but we all have been wondering how best the performance result of the device which is supported by both the beasts will be.

So the folks at SMZDM have tested a high-end gaming laptop that features AMD Ryzen 9 5900H CPU and most likely NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards. But the GPU is still not made to be certain that it belongs to the RTX 30 series.

As we know AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900H is a beast with 8-core’s and 16-thread’s. it comes with a base clock of 3.3 GHz and a turbo reaching 4.65 GHz. The tested machine features high-end specifications such as 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory, 1TB of NVMe SSD, and a 2560×1440 17.3-inch display of unknown refresh rate.

The complete specifications are listed below:

Mechrevo 5900H specs AMD Ryzen 9 5900H tested on a Mechrevo laptop

In the benchmarking process, the Ryzen 9 5900H scores 617.4 points in the single-threaded CPU-Z benchmark and 6076.6 points in the multi-threaded test. If we compare CPU-Z’s database and previous test results then the processor

is faster than desktop Ryzen 7 3700X. if we go with the scores then the processor is also faster than the Intel Core i7-10875H, which scores around 550 in a single thread and 5000 points in multi-threaded tests.

In the benchmark score of Cinebench R20, the Ryzen 9 5900H scored 584 single-core and 5264 in multi-core tests. AMD’s new Ryzen CPU is 17% in the single-core test and 22% faster in the multi-core test when compared against the i7-10875H.
