Real Madrid can lose Mbappe to Liverpool

Real Madrid can lose Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool. As per the report, the Premier League champions want to sign the French youngster at a record fee of £173m. But Real Madrid can’t offer that much money for him.

Real Madrid is in a financial crisis this season. They need to negotiate a squad-wide pay cut this season to avoid £78million (€90m) losses. In this circumstance, it is impossible for Real Madrid to compete with Liverpool in a big-money transfer. Real Madrid may have to release or sell some players to arrange the transfer money for the Frenchman.

mbappe 1 1 Real Madrid can lose Mbappe to Liverpool

Mbappé joined PSG in 2017 after a big-money move from Monaco. In 3 seasons with PSG, he has won 8 trophies, including 3 league titles. PSG was the runners up in last season’s UEFA Champions League. They lost to Bayern Munich in the finals.

Mbappé won World Cup in 2018 for his country. The winger forward is one of the most important members of that team.

Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is the idol of the Frenchman. Real Madrid hopes the love for Ronaldo can open the door for Mbappe. The idea of wearing Cristiano Ronaldo’s old No 7 shirt and lighting up the refurbished Santiago Bernabeu can do the trick for them.

If he finally joins Real Madrid, then it will be a big gain for the Spanish giant. Real has faced some difficulties in converting goals in some big matches. Mbappé can give them a major boost in the attacking areas.

LeBron James becomes the third player to reach 35,000 points

0

In Thursday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets, LeBron James became the third player in the history of the NBA to score 35,000 career points. He did so, and that put him in elite company in terms of both skill and longevity. Only two other players in NBA history have scored 35,000 points, and both also wore coincidentally Lakers: Karl Malone (36,928) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).

36-year-old James also became the youngest player in league history to reach the 35,000-point plateau. Malone was 39 when he scored his 35,000th point while Abdul-Jabbar did it at the age of 38.

In the game, James needed 15 points to reach 35,000 for his career. The historic moment came in the second quarter. James went to the free-throw line down double-digits against the Nets and converted his first attempt to reach 15 on the night, getting him past the 35,000 mark. He ended the night with 32 points, on 14-of-23 shooting, along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Nets who are widely considered to be the Lakers’ primary competition, dominated for most of Thursday’s game, and built a 25-point lead while the Lakers helplessly tried to keep it close, eventually losing 109-98. For Brooklyn, Kevin Durant was out and for Los Angeles, there was no Anthony Davis and guard Dennis Schroder.

It is remarkable to note that in every season of his career, James has scored a minimum of 1,500 points, and he has gone above 2,000 points in a season 10 times. Given his current trajectory, he could reach the 36,000-point before the season ends and should pass Malone on the all-time scoring list during the 2021-22 season.

This was not the only milestone that James achieved this week. The four-time MVP is also within 400 rebounds of the career 10,000 rebound mark and within 500 assists of reaching 10,000 for his career.

In 29 games this season, the MVP candidate is averaging 34.7 minutes, 25.7 points, 7.9 assists and 8.2 rebounds.

NBA 2021 All-Star Captains and Starters Revealed

0

Originally, the 2021 NBA All-Star Game was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the league has reversed course and decided to hold a one-night event in Atlanta on March 7.

On Thursday, the two captains, as well as their fellow starters, were announced following a process that was determined by a combination of voting from fans (50 percent), media (25 percent) and players (25 percent).

The All-Star captains, one from each conference, will select their teams from the remaining All-Star reserves, in the All-Star Draft on March 4th on TNT.

The Western Conference captain is LeBron James. He has 17 all-star appearances and is currently averaging 25.7 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 7.9 apg in the regular season. Other starters from the West include Nikola Jokic, Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry abs Luka Doncic.

The Eastern Conference captain is Kevin Durant. He has 11 All-Star appearances and is currently averaging 29.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 5.3 apg in the regular season. Other started from the East include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal and Kyrie Irving.

There was a slight amount of drama this year in determining the Western Conference starters. When the votes from all the different groups are tallied, each player ends up with a weighted score. This year Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard ended in a tie. Doncic ended up getting the starting spot because he won the tiebreaker, which is based on fan voting.

The All-Star Game will again feature an Elam Ending. Both teams will play to a target score in an untimed fourth quarter, the leading team’s score after three quarters, plus 24. The league announced that they will honor Kobe Bryant during the All-Star Game by incorporating his jersey number 24 into the determination of the final target score.

The NBA also made official its plans to host a 3-point contest, skills competition and dunk contest as part of its one-night All-Star celebration. The 3-point contest and skills competition will be held before the game.

A number of All-Stars have voiced their opposition to this year’s All-Star Game, even as the NBPA approved the plan. James told reporters earlier this month that he has “zero energy and zero excitement” for an exhibition.

As a part of the health and safety precautions, players participating in the All-Star Game are only allowed to leave their host cities for out-of-market residences during the NBA’s break from March 5-10. The league will be providing private transportation for all participants going to Atlanta on March 6 and returning after the game.

Wistron to resume its operations in Karnataka

0

In recent reports, Wistron, the contract manufacturer for Apple iPhone, announced that it would resume production in the coming few days. Last year, we heard the news that the factory was closing its operations in Karnataka due to contract workers and others’ violence over wage-related issues.

After the issue, the company removed its vice-president overseeing the India operations. It also apologized and admitted to some workers not being paid correctly or on time.

“It is a matter of happiness that the re-appointment process has started and production-ready to resume.”

Karnataka has been working hard to create a supportive environment for industries.

Managing director of Wistron, Sudipto Gupta, met the minister at Vidhana Soudha and apprised him on resuming the re-appointment process to commence production in the facility. Shettar also said that the support would be extended by the state government and the Industries Department to Wistron.

“All employees have been promptly and fully-paid, and we implemented new hiring and payroll systems to ensure everyone is paid correctly and provided the correct documentation going forward,” stated Wistron Smart Devices CEO David Shen.

To address the issue in Karnataka then stated that the company has been working on improving across the board to raise standards and fix the issues.

There is no fixed date for the company to start its operations in Bangalore, but a spokesperson related to the company stated that it might start in the initial weeks of march.

FIFA: Football development highlighted in visit to the Central African Republic

0

For the first-time ever, a team representing the Central African Republic qualified for a continental competition as they are competing in the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations

BANGUI, Central African Republic, February 18, 2021/ — A meeting with President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, a national honour from the Central African Republic, and a presentation of a ground-breaking project involving the Central African Republic Football Association (RCA), the French Football Federation (FFF) and FIFA, highlighted FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s first-ever visit to Bangui.

The Renaissance Palace provided the setting for the meeting with President Touadéra, where the strategy to introduce practical steps to encourage more young people to play football was discussed, together with the performances of the national team ‘Les Fauves’ (the Wild Beasts) and their aspirations. Subsequently, the Central African Republic’s Prime Minister Firmin Ngrébada bestowed the honour of the National Order of Recognition, which was awarded in the rank of commander, upon the FIFA President at the CAR PM’s headquarters.

“I am truly humbled to receive this honour. Football can contribute even if just a bit to make people’s lives a little better being a symbol of unity, peace and solidarity.,” the FIFA President said.

The timing of the FIFA President’s visit was significant for a number of reasons. For the first-time ever, a team representing the Central African Republic qualified for a continental competition as they are competing in the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, which is currently taking place in Mauritania.

“Football can play an important role in bringing people together and uniting them through their love of the game,” said the FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “[I am very happy] to work with President Célestin Yanindji and the federation, to team up with the government, to advance all projects currently in progress and some other which will follow.

“The country stops to watch or listen to the radio broadcasts of the matches of the national team. This is a football country, so it was about time for me to come to Bangui for the first time. FIFA needs to be present where football is played. FIFA has to be everywhere in the world, in all the countries. That’s why it was about time that I’m coming, and I’m happy to be here.”

The FIFA delegation also had the opportunity to discuss the technical support programme (TAP), established as a partnership with RCA and FFF, with the funding from FIFA Forward. As a mid-term initiative, the programme aims to train and certificate coaches, encourage more youngsters to play football, to discover and develop talent, and to boost women’s football. The visit to the Central African Republic provided the delegation with the opportunity to go through the details in the RCA headquarters in Gbangouma, where they also met with the association’s staff.

“FIFA is working with the RCA and the government to introduce new initiatives through football, which will encourage young people to use the sport as a vehicle to learn new skills that equip them for the future,” the FIFA President added. “In addition, and together with the FFF, FIFA is implementing the first-ever technical support programme here in the Central African Republic. This is a pilot project, but it can serve as an example for other countries as well, and it is something we want to replicate in other parts of the globe.”

“I would like to thank FIFA for their support in helping to develop football in the Central African Republic, and especially, I would like to thank the FIFA President Gianni Infantino for being here in Bangui as it shows that FIFA really cares about how we are living football on the ground,” said RCA President Célestin Yanindji. “For us, FIFA is an essential partner. They have so many projects in mind, and they provide the necessary means to turn ideas into reality.”

“The message really, to all the people of the Central African Republic, is that FIFA is with them, that FIFA is here and present,” the FIFA President concluded. “We are here to invest. We are here to build. We are here to give hope and to give smiles. Concretely, not just with words, as we are speaking about concrete projects to help support and develop football.”
