SpaceX targets DISH and Amazon at a meeting with the FCC

Recently, SpaceX has been working on the third modification to its Starlink satellite internet constellation. And the modifications are currently facing opposition from a host of companies. Thus, a meeting was held between the FCC’s International Bureau (IB) members and the representatives of Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SpaceX) regarding the modifications.

According to sources, SpaceX has requested the Commission to allow it to reduce the elevation angles of its Earth stations and altitudes of its satellites – citing reduced interference and safety improvements for the changes, respectively.

But the proposal has received severe scrutiny, especially from Amazon’s satellite division, Kuiper, DISH Corporation, and other non-U.S. registered firms, who believe that the changes will hamper their ability to operate without constraints.

In the meeting with the FCC, Starlink’s representatives highlighted the importance of the changes, which are necessary for improving Starlink safety. On the other hand, competitors, including Amazon, have alleged that the modification request makes the constellation more dangerous. It threatens collisions with satellites that propose to operate in these altitudes.

To improve safety, SpaceX offered two corrective changes:

— The first of these is improving its manufacturing process for better satellite testing.

— The second is a software update that seeks to root out problems that cause the spacecraft to stop responding.

During its meeting with the FCC, SpaceX directly targeted Amazon’s claim of Starlink interfering with the Kuiper constellation. According to SpaceX, Amazon “seems to have given up work on its own nascent NGSO system in favor of its efforts to slow down Starlink.”

But it’s not just Amazon, SpaceX went especially hard on DISH. The company states that DISH has, “singled out SpaceX alone for its fishing expedition, even though other NGSO licensees operate with bigger beams, higher transmit power, and lower elevation angles.”

Now, how they will hold their relationship and save their lives from that spirit that we have to wait to watch.

Release Date: 15^th March

It is expected that the upcoming second season of this series is going to be scarier. This is a psychological thriller series. Taher Shabbir, Priya Banerjee, Poulami Das, Taha Shah Badussha, and Subha Rajput.

Verizon and AT&T dominate 5G Spectrum Auction, spend a total of $69 billion combined

The United States Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) latest 5G spectrum auction was dominated by the nation’s largest wireless carriers, Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc. Verizon committed $45.45 billion and AT&T committed $23.41 billion for 5G wireless airwaves in a government auction as the largest U.S. mobile carriers race to build faster networks.

Verizon, which bid under the name Cellco Partnership, was the highest-bidder earning 3,511 spectrum licenses with AT&T coming second with 1,621 licenses, as according to the FCC, both the wireless carriers pitched in spending equal to a combined $69 billion. According to a report by Bloomberg, participants in the auction also included T-Mobile US Inc. and pay-TV providers such as Comcast Corp., Dish Network Corp., and Charter Communications Inc. Some of the companies have already tapped the debt market to help pay the tab. The auction started in December and ended on Jan. 15 and the analysts’ estimates of $47 billion were exceeded within days before settling at $81.2 billion.

T-Mobile, along with the backing of its controlling stockholder, Deutsche Telekom AG, spent $9.3 billion for 142 licenses to build on an already-large holding of mid-band 2.5-gigahertz airwaves gained with the takeover of Sprint Corp. in April. In after-hours trading Wednesday, T-Mobile rose as much as 4.9% to $125.28 with Verizon and AT&T receiving little changed.

The extravagant spending in the bidding underscores how crucial these so-called mid-band frequencies are to companies trying to seize global leadership in emerging 5G technology. Also known as the C-band spectrum, this includes 500 MHz of spectrum between 3.7 and 4.2 GHz. It has also been put to use by satellite providers to deliver video programming to cable providers. About 200 MHz of the spectrum in this band will continue to be used for TV programming.

5G technology is the next generation of wireless service, expected to increase network speeds and make networks more responsive and the mid-band spectrum is considered important for 5G deployments. It offers both geographic coverage and the capacity to transmit large amounts of data. This combination has been found to be especially appealing to wireless giants who have been trying to fill out their spectrum portfolios.

“It is essential to America’s economic recovery that we deliver on the promise of next-generation wireless services for everyone, everywhere,” FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said in a statement, according to CNET. “This auction reflects a shift in our nation’s approach to 5G toward mid-band spectrum that can support fast, reliable, and ubiquitous service that is competitive with our global peers.”

Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 front design revealed and might cost €300

Samsung’s upcoming device, Galaxy XCover 5, is in news lately after a few leaks have surfaced online. The device is said to be Samsung’s next rugged smartphone and most probably will be the next version of Xcover 4s which was launched back in 2019.

One latest leak suggested that the device has bagged Bluetooth SIG certification. The certificate also suggested that Galaxy XCover 5 will come with Bluetooth 5.0. It is also expected to launch in two models, which are SM-G525F and SM-G525_DS.

Leakster Evan Blass also shared the image of the handset. If we go by the image, the smartphone will be a bit different from the usual handsets we find. It looks to have a huge forehead and a chin. It will also offer a red-accented programmable XCover key on the left side. Thus, forcing the power and volume buttons on the right side.

It is expected that the device will sport a 5.3-inch TFT LCD panel with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. It will be powered by Exynos 850 SoC. The RAM of this device is expected to be 4 GB and have internal storage of 64 GB.

In terms of optics, we might see a single 16 MP sensor at the rear side. It should come along with an F/1.8 aperture lens. We can expect a 5 MP sensor at the front side for selfies. The device will run on One UI 3.x based on Android 11. Coming to the battery, it will host a 3,000mAh battery paired with a 15 W fast charging support. The expected price for the device is €300 in Europe.

Gionee is going to launch the successor of Gionee Max tomorrow, that is, on the 1st of March 2021. The next generation of the earlier smartphone is named Gionee Max Pro. This tells that this handset will have better specs in comparison to the earlier model. This older device, Gionee Max, was launched in August 2020 and came at a price of Rs 5,999.

A Flipkart web page has gone live and it tells us about all the specifications of this new Gionee Max Pro smartphone. According to the same page, the smartphone is supposed to have a 6.52-inch HD+ display and will come with a screen resolution of 1600×720 pixels.

This screen of Max Pro is 0.42 inches bigger than what was offered in Gionee Max last year. Also, the Gionee Max Pro will host a powerful 6,000 mAh battery cell. Just for reference, the base model offered you a 5,000 mAh cell. The device is planned to arrive with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage.

We are still unsure of the processor this budget smartphone uses. Thus, we can’t say anything about it but Gionee Max was run by an octa-core processor so we might expect a similar to even mobile chipset to accompany Max Pro.

The little but vital information about the specifications of the new upcoming smartphone tells us that Gionee is trying to make devices with a larger display and more robust battery cell. There no significant tips on the price but we expect it to fight in a similar market range as it’s the previous model. The device is scheduled to launch on March 1, 2021, at 12 PM IST.

The Blue team’s next big thing is coming in the form of Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs and it seems Intel cannot keep it secret anymore. Already we have dozens of benchmarks before launch and now the Core i7-11700K is being openly sold even before launch.

Rumored to be announced on March 16th, people are getting their hands-on with these CPUs in February itself. Though Intel has not stated any specs of the Core i7-11700K or the Core i5s, we already have got all the specs of the 11th Gen Intel processors.

The strange fact is that Mindfactory, one of the biggest retailers in Germany, is openly admitting the sale of these CPUs and has even admitted that no embargo has been breached in the process. Jadon Sancho scored a penalty and assisted Mahmoud Dahoud’s opener against Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga yesterday. The youngster has managed to turn things around from the slump he had to endure at the start of the season and has managed to find his form once again.

The winger is now the youngest player in the Bundesliga to assist 50 goals and is on his way up in the list of the best performers in the league this season. Moreover, Sancho achieved his 50th assist in his 99th game, which is an unbelievable stat given that the player is only 20 years old.

“We tried to get him back into his form. There were two ways of doing that. First, via the way how we dealt with him personally, talking about a lot of things and having a lot of discussions in general. We also did individual analysis’ of him.

Chris Gayle makes a return to the West Indies cricket team at the age of 41 after an 18-month absence

Chris Gayle made a return to the West Indies cricket team after coach Phil Simmons included Gayle in his squad for the upcoming T20I and one-day international series against Sri Lanka.

Gayle, 41 years old, has not played in the shortest form of the game internationally after March 2019 against England, and last also, in the same year, in August, he played a single one-day international against India.

The three-match T20I series in Coolidge will take place between March 3 and 7, and later on, the duo will compete in three one-day internationals, which will begin from March 10th and end on March 14th in North Sound.

Although, Gayle had stated at one stage that the 2019 India series, where he surpassed Brian Lara’s ODI runs record for the Windies, would be his last as internationally.

Fidel Edwards, who last donned the international jersey last time in a Test match against Bangladesh in November 2012, will join Chris Gayle, in the West Indies squad.
