An overclocked Intel Core i9-11900K breaks all records, defeats Ryzen 7 5800X

Intel is on the verge of launching its 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPUs, meanwhile, we have a bunch of leaks showing its performance gains over last-gen. Also, showing how it holds up against the revolutionary AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors.

Already the upoming flagship Core i9-11900K was spotted earlier with a mind-blowing single-core result and an impressive multi-core result as well. As we know this 8 core, 16 threaded CPU has a max all core boost of 4.8GHz and 3.5GHz base clock speeds.

So, when overclocked, the chip went up to 5.2GHz on all cores and that’s really impressive, especially on a 14nm node. However, this comes at a cost of higher TDP, most probably pushing to its highest PL2 limit at 250W.

We saw previously that at stock, the Core i9-11900K had very little difference with its closest competitor Ryzen 7 5800X. In CPU-Z benchmark, the Intel CPU scored 695.4 points, way ahead to Ryzen’s 663 points.

Whereas in multi-core, the Intel upcoming flagship still lagging behind AMD with 6522.1 points to Ryzen 7 5800X’s 6766 points. Now, when overclocked at 5.2GHz all core, the single-core score goes up to 706.3 points whereas the multi-threaded score going up to 7199 points.

However, do note that this kind of overclocking is indeed very unstable, so I guess, if all 8 cores are overclocked to 5GHz, that should comfortably beat AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. The popularity of the CPU will indeed depend on the pricing of the Core i9-11900K, rumored to be $450.

Zoom: A guide to change the backgrounds

Zoom is a videotelephony software program developed by Zoom Video Communications. The free version provides a video chatting service that allows up to 100 devices at once, with a 40-minute time restriction for free accounts having meetings of three or more participants.

With the sudden lockdowns induced by the pandemic, it was inevitable that most of the professions took to the online platform. But the question was to remain connected even while maintaining social distancing. As such the online video conferencing platforms like Zoom came to the rescue of organizations and personal communications alike.

What started as a simple yet powerful service for video conferencing, Zoom has become the most preferred tool of the masses. Some might have already discovered a wonderful new setting of the App that allows its users to set the custom background for your meeting.

From a simple scene of your bedroom to the exquisite scenery of Switzerland, the users can use the service to change their background to whatever they like. The app also allows the option to set Custom backgrounds by uploading the images of their liking.

But before you upload any custom background in Zoom, just check the guidelines below to modify an image to your liking:

  • Format: GIF, JPG/JPEG, or 24-bit PNG (no alpha). Any transparent areas of PNGs will be shown on a white background.
  • Minimum dimension: 960px
  • Maximum dimension: 1920px
  • Recommended dimensions: 1920px by 1080px (16:9 aspect ratio). If you don’t use an image with an aspect ratio of 16:9, you may see black bars beside the background image.
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB

Change your Zoom background on the desktop app 

Most of the users prefer to use the desktop client of the service, and not everyone is an employee. Some of them are students giving virtual presentations or freshers attending their first virtual interview. The desktop app allows users to set the background image to their liking and impress their employer with the best background scenery.

To set the background image in the Zoom desktop app:

  • Zoom
  1. Click your profile in the top right corner, and click Settings. 
  2. On the left menu, click Virtual Background. 
  3. Zoom has provided some default background options, it includes an outer space scene or blades of grass. You can choose one of those by clicking on it, and it will automatically change your screen as well.
  4. Those who prefer to have their background image can upload a photo to use as your background, on the same Virtual Background Page. Click the + icon next to where it says Choose Virtual Background. After a dialogue box pops open, choose a photo from your computer and press open/upload. It will appear in the Zoom gallery to choose from.
  5. If you want to delete any unnecessary photos, just press on the X in the top left corner of the image.

Change your Zoom background on the mobile app

  1. In a meeting just tap the three dots at the bottom right of the screen to open the More menu. 
  2. Tap Virtual Background. 
  3. You can select any of the default background images or if you like, you can upload any image to your liking.

Enjoying the beauty of setting custom backgrounds is fun, and users get the option to not only customize the desktop client and mobile app. But also can customize the Web-client which features Zoom Rooms, Floors, or even locations. But there are a few requirements to do so:

If you are looking for customizing the background of your Zoom Rooms using the Zoom web-client then things might be a little tricky. But do follow the guide below, to get the things done properly.

Change the default background image

  • Zoom

To change the default background image for all the Zoom Rooms in your account follow the below steps:

  1.  Log in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Room Management > Zoom Rooms.
  3. Click Account Settings which is at the top of the page.
  4. In the Account Profile tab, under the Background image for Zoom Rooms, click Upload New Image.
  5. Select your image and click Open.

Change the background image for a room, floor, or location

Do be extremely careful while doing this. Remember that when a customized background image is uploaded for a specific room, floor, or location, the default image will be replaced by the uploaded image.

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Room Management > Zoom Rooms.
  3. Click Edit next to the room, floor, or location. ( it depends on where you want the background image to be applied)
  4. In the Room Settings tab, navigate to the Room Setup section.
  5. Next, navigate to a Background image for Zoom Rooms, click Upload New Image. If you added your default background image, you’ll see a preview of it along with the “Using account setting” notification.
  6. Select your image, and click Open.

If you want to delete any uploaded image then you can do so by clicking on Delete or Reset to remove your uploaded image. If your account has a default image, it will replace your uploaded image.

For those looking to take their backgrounds to a more advanced and realistic level, here are some additional tips:

  • The best background effects can be achieved using a solid color background, preferably green.
  • Most of the cameras on desktops and Notebooks have a very disappointing quality, so higher quality cameras result in better virtual background.
  • Use uniform lighting and color.
  • Do not wear clothing that is the same color as the virtual background.
  • For those who want to achieve a realistic look, match your clothing with the background, and make sure that what you wear stand out more than your background.
  • It is always a better option to go with something solid when facing a virtual interview.
  • For students, you have varied choices. But we recommend going with the background, which is related to the subject that you are currently going to attend.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, no sports have been played with spectators but as per the recent news, the Indian Premier League 2021 will begin in the mid-week of April.

As per the latest news from the quarters of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is that the government has decided to allow entry of 50% fans in the stadium for IPL and other sporting events in the country including the England Tour of India, which will happen in February.

This news is much exciting for the fans as the 14th edition, Indian Premier League 2020 was held in UAE, behind the closed doors. As per the latest statement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Sports Ministry, 50 per cent attendance at the stadium has been permitted with the provision of a COVID-19 task-force is being set up by organizing committees and in the BCCI’s case IPL Governing Council. 

In February, England will be visiting India where they will be playing 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is and is likely to happen with 50% spectator attendance.

The IPL Governing Council and BCCI will have to follow the guidelines mentioned below by the ministry for the entry of spectators in the stadiums –  

1) The spectators at any sporting event would be given entry in accordance with the guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs vide its letter No. 40-3/2020-DM-I (A); dated 25th November 2020 [Para 9 clause (v}) or as amended from time to time. 

2) For outdoor events, spectators will be allowed upto a maximum of 50% of the total capacity of the stadium.

3) CCTV monitoring should be planned properly for the events to detect over-crowding at entry & exit gates and at the seating arena. 

Meanwhile, the Indian Government has given the permission for 50% attendance but it is also important to take permission from the local authorities and check the management and if the protocols are taken care of, and also hope that the effect of COVID-19 will be less by April-May.

But that fixture went according to the schedule. But the game against Everton was postponed due to positive COVID cases increased inside Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed the number of Man City players in Covid-19 isolation before the game against Chelsea. Guardiola said, “t was four people, two players, the first time and then three more. I don’t think the Premier League allows us to name the players but you will know tomorrow.”

“We had enough players to play against Everton, we wanted to play but on the day of the game with more cases we informed the Premier League and I personally called Carlo Ancelotti to explain the situation because of the day before we were in touch about what would happen and the huge risk.”

Guardiola did not mention the names of players as the Premier league restricted City from revealing the names due to the privacy and medical confidentiality of those who had tested positive.

But as per sources Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus are in isolation after tested positive on Boxing day. Ederson and Tommy Doyle have also in the isolation.

It is a very tough situation for Manchester City to handle as they have some highly important fixtures in the next few days. Manchester City will face Chelsea tomorrow. The next game against Manchester United in Carabao Cup Semi-final.

There have been rumours and opinions flying around on the internet that have been calling for Chelsea to change managers. However, it must be considered that Chelsea have a lot of new players, who, more importantly are very young.

While the 42-year-old has a lot of quality at his disposal, he must be given time to get the best out of the players and really find the way that the team works the best. The first team has been frequently impacted with injuries which has prevented Lampard from bringing in consistency within the starting XI.

The general opinion, of course, is that Chelsea need to change on the pitch and to be back at the top of their game. They must get a few wins under their belt to ensure that they get back their confidence and find their stride. It is really difficult this season with new players and all, from other countries and youth players, the board know that time is required to get better but something needs to change on the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel has been rumoured to be on the list to replace Frank Lampard, but those rumours are indeed, false. Manchester City are currently in amazing form and have managed to keep 6 clean sheets out of their last 7 games in the Premier League, conceding only one goal against West Brom in their 1-1 draw.

Benjamin Mendy has been prone to making errors, and Zinchenko has been out of the team for a good while now. The club has hence been linked with Atletico Madrid full-back Renan Lodi to possibly fix the problem. 

Speaking on the transfer rumour on their Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio said that there was currently no agreement in place between the two clubs. It will be very difficult to get the player in January since Atletico are in a very strong position in La Liga and will want to hold on to the player till the end of the season.

Since the arrival of Ben Chilwell at Chelsea, Marcos Alonso has regularly found himself out of the Chelsea matchday squad, barely making an appearance for the team in matchdays. Even a place on the bench has been unlikely for the Spaniard, with Emerson being preferred instead. 

While there were links with a transfer to Inter Milan during last winter’s transfer window, as well as the summer went by, the 30-year-old has stayed put at Chelsea. However, his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered for sure, with Frank Lampard preferring the other options at his disposal. 

Atletico Madrid has been one of the destinations apart from Inter that are reportedly interested in bringing Alonso home. The former Real Madrid player has experience in La Liga, and is also familiar with the city from his time with Los Blancos. 

Clarifying the situation on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio indicated that there is currently no contact between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Marcos Alonso. However, something could be on the cards at the end of the season. 

A loan deal could be favourable for the Rojiblancos, or even a swap deal. The Italian journalists mentioned that it would be difficult for Atletico to pay up for the player given the dire financial condition for Spanish clubs, who have it much worse than other countries in Europe. 

A move to Inter Milan to January also looks unlikely given that Antonio Conte’s squad is absolutely stacked right now. However, the Italian coach could reunite with Alonso at the end of the season when the finances stabilise and business can resume as usual for the big European clubs.
