In 2020, HTC had announced two of its mid-range smartphones: HTC Desire 20 Pro and HTC Desire 20+. As per the reports, HTC is going to launch another Desire branded smartphone in 2021, named HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G. As of now, some of the live shots of this upcoming device have been revealed, showing its design from all angles. However, it will not be the first-ever 5G smartphone from HTC as the company had already announced its HTC U20 5G smartphone in the previous month.
Coming to the designs, the live shots of the product are showing that the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G will be placed inside a green colored case. As per the ports and buttons, the volume rockers and the power button are placed on the right side. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button on the right. However, it is unsure whether this phone will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack it.
As per the display, it is a centered hole-punch display with smaller bezels whereas the size is still unknown. Coming to its rear panel, this phone holds a vertically placed rectangular quad rear camera setup supported by an LED flash. Though the sensors’ specifications are still unknown, we can see a text engraved in the camera housing reveals that this camera module features a 48-megapixel camera as the primary sensor.
As per the reports, the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G will arrive with a model number “2QAG100”. In terms of its other key specifications, this device will run on the Android 10 OS and regarding its connectivity, it is a dual-SIM smartphone compatible with the latest 5G network. For the past couple of months, news has been roaming out in the market that Apple may launch its first foldable iPhone in 2022. It is not the first time we are hearing such kind of news. Earlier, we also got a similar kind of news regarding the foldable segment of Apple. But, Apple has not confirmed anything yet as it is currently working on the foldable technology. As per reports, the company is already getting iPhone testing samples from a Taiwanese factory.
Now, a recent report says that Apple has passed its two upcoming foldable iPhones through its durability test showing that both the variants look quite unique and the bending mechanism is quite similar to the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip. One of those Apple devices folds horizontally whereas the other one folds vertically. As of now, any of those is not fully functional as only the chassis and display components have been tested.
Apart from it, a couple of patent images has been leaked showing the expected mechanical designs of the upcoming foldable iPhones. The patent name is “Folding Electronic Devices With Geared Hinges.” This patent was filed by the iPhone-makers explaining the usabilities of advanced hinges and gears of a foldable device. Let’s how it will work.
The patent states that the “first and second portions of an electronic device housing for the [foldable] device may be joined using a hinge”. Additionally, the hinge is expected to contain “toothed members such as gears and a rack member” by which the user can fold the device in both directions.
The patent reads, “The rack member may have a surface with curved portions. The gears may include rotating gears that walk along the curved portions of the rack member as the electronic device is folded and unfolded. The hinge may include gears that are fixedly attached to the first and second housing portions and that engage the rotating gears. Linkage members may hold together gears and the rack member.”
The patent added more, saying, “The display may be an organic light-emitting diode display, a micro-light-emitting diode display formed from an array of crystalline semiconductor light-emitting diode dies, and/or maybe any other suitable display,”
As of now, Apple has not confirmed anything about the time in which it will launch its very-first foldable device. But it doesn’t look like it can make its entry in 2021, so we have to wait for another year, possibly in 2022, we might expect Apple to launch its first-ever foldable iPhone.
Antutu usually comes up with its monthly Top 10 charts. They have posted the same about the last month as well. The timeline of this chart stands from December 1 to December 31. Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi Mi 11 has topped the charts with a benchmark score of 708425. This is because the smartphone is run by Qualcomm’s latest SoC called Snapdragon 888. Last week, Xiaomi Mi 11 became the first smartphone in the world to be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC. Currently, it is the most powerful Android chipset available in the market. It is the only smartphone in the world that is run by this latest SoC but soon we are expecting to see a huge influx of smartphones with Qualcomm’s new chipset. Xiaomi Mi 11 is closely followed up by Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ and Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphones. Both of these devices are powered by the Kirin 9000. Other devices that are in the top 10 are run by Snapdragon 865, the predecessor of Snapdragon 888. Huawei Mate 40, which takes the 9th spot, is run by Kirin 9000E.
None of the smartphones which is run by Exynos has featured in this list. This shows that Exynos is a bit weaker when compared to other SoCs like Snapdragon 865. The top 10 list is entirely dominated by three Chinese OEMs, that are, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Vivo. The Top 10 list for mid-range smartphones is also dominated by Xiaomi and Huawei. You can see in the image below. 8 of the top 10 spots are the brands of these two OEMs. The 9th spot and 10th spot are captured by Oppo and Realme respectively.
Both of these lists are going to change in January and we might see a few smartphones with new chipsets altogether.
Epic Games have been extremely aggressive in the year 2020. From competing with everything they have against Apple to offering games at relatively low cost for games available on the Epic platform.
Recently the company announced that it is working to increase its Human resource power and is working towards procuring more facilities to set-up as their base. As such the recent news shouldn’t come as a surprise. According to yesterday’s report, Epic Games reached an agreement with Turnbridge Equities and Denali Properties to acquire ownership of the Cary Town Center.
The facility is 980,000-square-foot and 87-acre in size and it will be converted into the new Epic Games campus ‘HQ’, to start work this year and eventually move here from their current location at Crossroads Boulevards by 2024.
The company is in the works of increasing its man-force and its major new deals seem like it is gearing to take down its rival Steam.

As per some reports on Monday, Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne rejected the club’s proposal for contract renewal. The talks were going on since late last year between the Belgian midfielder and the club for renewing contracts between two parties.
But the latest proposal failed to satisfy the Belgian midfielder as he thinks that his performance for the club doesn’t reflect in the pay packet in the new contract. So, he refused to sign the proposal. But both the parties have possessed a strong intention to reach an agreement.

AnTuTu benchmark is the leading benchmarking tool and is responsible for giving us a glimpse of the performance of the upcoming hardware. The benchmark website released its December AnTuTu flagship smartphone performance chart for Android devices.
The performance chart revealed that the new Xiaomi Mi 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset is the leader, with an average score over a thousand benchmarks of 708,425 points. The second place is secured by Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ with its HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC securing 702,819 points.
We already know that there is a strict competitive rivalry between Huawei and Xiaomi, so the news of Xiaomi’s phone coming on top might put a smile on the faces of its executives. Especially because Xiaomi’s smartphones are a lot cheaper than Huawei’s.
When comparing the results between the Snapdragon 888 vs Kirin 9000, it was rather surprising to see the similarities between the two silicons. The CPU scores across the averages were 196,344 for the Mi 11 and 191,286 for the Mate 40 Pro+. In the GPU results, the Adreno 660 iGPU helping the Xiaomi Mi 11 reach 306,548 points while the Mali-G78 component in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ scored 305,358 points.
In the UX section, Xiaomi’s Mi 11 was the clear victor owing to its 2K 120 Hz screen due to which the Snapdragon 888 scored 94,969 points whereas the Mate 40 Pro+ scored 88,029 points. But the performance of snapdragon 888 can still be improved and analysts indicate that we can still expect more from the SoC.
It looks like 2021 is going to be a golden year for the foldable device as most of the companies are working hard and trying to cash in this section of foldability. As per some earlier reports, Xiaomi is currently working on its upcoming surrounded display smartphone, probably the Mi MIX Alpha 2 whereas a current report is saying that in 2021, Xiaomi may launch a foldable smartphone with a triple-fold (tri-fold) design. So, it is not only Samsung who is looking to grab this opportunity of making a big profit with its upcoming foldable device in 2021. Samsung has confirmed that it will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone in 2021. So, we can expect a good fight between Xiaomi’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
A few patent images have been leaked of Xiaomi’s tri-fold device, showing its design and mechanism. The images show that this phone will have separate hinges externally and internally by which the user can set up the phone in more than one way. It has a flat-screen which is curved as well. So, you can fold it in both directions. As it is a triple folding device, it will be slightly thicker than usual smartphones. One of the major differences between this and the Samsung one is that the Samsung device will have slightly rounded corners whereas the Xiaomi device seems to have a sharper square design.

If we check Xiaomi’s heredity, the company chose the Snapdragon 855+ chipset for the Mi Mix Alpha last year and it was a flagship device from Xiaomi. So, in this upcoming tri-fold device, we can expect from Xiaomi that it will use a chipset equal to or better than the Snapdragon 865. It is a lower-chance that Xiaomi will use Snapdragon 888 chipset in it.
Next, regarding its camera section, the Xiaomi tri-fold smartphone is expected to have a 64MP camera as its primary sensor. Apart from it, there will be two other sensors in which one should be a telephoto camera with lower resolution. For selfies, we can see a punch-hole at the center-top of the main display.
As per the pricing and specifications, this tri-fold device from Xiaomi is expected to arrive in the market by the end of 2021 with a price range of between $1000 to $2000 (like Samsung and Motorola).
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order on Tuesday banning transactions with the companies behind eight Chinese software applications, including Ant Group’s Alipay and Tencent’s QQ and WeChat Pay, escalating tensions with Asia’s biggest economy two weeks before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.
Reuters, who was the first to report the news, said that the ban is aimed at curbing the threat to Americans posed by Chinese apps, which have large user bases and access to sensitive data. The order argues that the U.S. must take “aggressive action” against developers of Chinese apps to protect national security. It was reported that the transactions will be prohibited in 45 days.
The full list of apps included in the order are: Alipay, QQ Wallet, CamScanner, SHAREit, Tencent QQ, WeChat Pay, VMate, and WPS Office.
“By accessing personal electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers, Chinese connected software applications can access and capture vast swaths of information from users, including sensitive personally identifiable information and private information,” the executive order states.
Such data collection “would permit China to track the locations of federal employees and contractors, and build dossiers of personal information,” the document adds.
Wilbur Ross, US Commerce Secretary, confirmed that the Commerce Department will “begin implementing the E.O.’s directives, including identifying prohibited transactions.” Reuters reports that the Commerce Department will make these arrangements before Trump leaves office on January 20th, inauguration of Joe Biden, a Democrat, as President, citing an unnamed official.
Though Biden’s transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter, he could, however, revoke the order on the first day of his presidency.
Two earlier orders precede this new order. One from August, that tried to ban transactions with ByteDance and WeChat. However, a judge blocked the WeChat ban twice in September and in October, while a judge pronounced an interim order stopping the TikTok ban in December.
According to sources, the software giant Microsoft is testing a new Outlook app to replace its built-in Mail and Calendar apps on Windows 10. The mail and calendar apps have been separate to this day and it seems that the Windows maker is looking to combine the apps. The new software in testing is codenamed Monarch and “One Outlook,” the app is “a new version of Outlook designed for large-screen experiences.”
According to the leak, we know that the app requires a Microsoft account to fully function properly. Rumors suggest that the One Outlook app will replace desktop (win32 and UWP) versions of Outlook, Outlook Web Access (OWA), and the macOS desktop client. Microsoft is also hosting the full web version of this new Outlook online.

The single desktop client of the app will be based on the web version of Outlook. As for now, it is indicated that the app only works in online mode. As to whether the company will decide to include an offline mode for the app remains to be seen. for now, the new upcoming app is in test mode and is highly unstable.
