Data of over 100 million users leaked on the Dark Web after a breach of Juspay’s Servers

0

Security researchers have found that Juspay, an Indian e-money transaction company, has had a server breach. Sensitive data of over 100 million debit and credit card users have been leaked on the dark web.

Reportedly, the data of the cardholders leaked on the dark web includes full names, phone numbers, and email addresses, along with the first and last four digits of their cards. The Bangalore-based company, which offers payment processing services for e-merchants like Amazon and Swiggy, has also acknowledged that in August 2020 also data of some of its users was compromised.

It was found that between March 2017 and August 2020 the breach and data leak took place. According to a report by Gadgets360, the data found on the dark web included “personal details of several Indian cardholders along with their card expiry dates, customer IDs, and masked card numbers with the first and last four digits of the cards fully visible”. Notably, though, the leaked data did not include transaction and order details.

Another report by Inc42 reveals that the leaked data on the dark web includes “user’s card brand (VISA/Mastercard), card expiry date, the last four digits of the card, the masked card number, the type of card (credit/debit), the name on the card, card fingerprint, card ISIN, customer ID, and merchant account ID, among several other details. In all, over 16 fields of data relating to their payment cards have been leaked for at least 2 crore users, as conceded by Juspay, a subset of the total number of user records (10 crores) that have been leaked.” Another subset of data which included the phone numbers and email addresses of users was leaked, reportedly.

Even though it was found that the leaked information reveals only partial copies of card numbers, phishing scams can be on the rise due to the breach. The dark web is being used as a market for selling the leaked data for an undisclosed amount.

“On 18 August 2020, an unauthorised attempt on our servers was detected and terminated when in progress. No card numbers, financial credentials or transaction data were compromised. Some data records containing non-anonymised, plain-text email and phone numbers were compromised, which form a fraction of the 10 crore data records,” Juspay founder Vimal Kumar said, according to First Post. “The masked card data (which is not sensitive) has 2 Cr user records. Our card vault, in a different PCI-compliant system with encrypted card data, was never accessed,” he added.

GTA VI rumored to be in development by Rockstar studio

0

Seven years ago, Grand Theft Auto V was released and we were dropped into the world of gangsters. The game was mesmerizing as is popular even to this day. For seven years the gamers around the world have been anxiously waiting for the sixth edition of the franchise to be released.

The gamers are getting anxious because Rockstar Games, the company behind the franchise have not given any official confirmation about the next edition. When we thought that the company was finally teasing GTA VI for PlayStation 5 it turned out to be GTA V instead.

However, the leaker @Yan2295 claims that GTA VI is indeed in development. According to him, GTA VI is very well under development, but there’s no ETA at the moment. For that’s the only information that we can provide about the new leak. But the information about GTA VI has surfaced online more than once. Back in November, a Twitter user @welltest789 (account now suspended) discovered additional clues about the game. In the GTA Online Cayo Perico surveil.exe teaser, the co-ordinates “38.527A N; 79.6129A W” appeared briefly.

In the video, the shape of this road seemed to resemble the Roman numeral VI, which in all probability is a tease for GTA VI. On other news, it was earlier reported that Rockstar Games may have very well started the development of GTA 6 back in 2015. Since it has already been eight years since the release of GTA V, it is to be expected that the new title will be a massive open-world game with excellent features. We can expect the game to be released in 2023.

What happened to Vaio? The renowned PC brand sets for a comeback in India with Nexstgo

0

‘Vaio’ – hearing the brand name after a long time? You’ll be glad to know that the company sets an eye to comeback in India but with a different partner, named ‘Nexstgo’. If you remember, this is the company that brought Avita’s laptops to the Indian market. Now Nexstgo has done a license agreement with VAIO Corporation to come back alive in the scenario.

According to the agreements of these two companies, now Nexstgo has the proper rights to manufacture, market, and sell the Vaio laptops in Asian Countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. In India, Flipkart will sell the Vaio laptops.

Once, Vaio was a part of Japanese tech giant Sony. In 1996, the company was first introduced as a Visual Audio Intelligent Organizer (VAIO). At that time, Sony’s Vaio laptops were pretty much expensive which led Sony to be in the top position in the competition with the other rival brands.

Do you know, even Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple was a big admirer of the Vaio laptops? In 2001, Steve approached with an offer to the former Sony president for launching a Sony Vaio laptop with the macOS. However, the deal failed as Sony decided to stick with the most demanding Windows OS.

Being in the competition with Apple, Vaio laptops had much expensive price tags on their laptops. Meanwhile, other PC companies were offering the same specification in the lower price range. Back in 2010, Sony faced an overheating problem in Vaio laptops, and later the company had admitted that about half a million Vaio notebooks were facing this issue. Also in 2006, Sony had to replace ten million Sony-made batteries used in Sony, Apple, and Dell laptops, which costs Sony around $250 million.

After facing huge losses multiple times, in 2014 Sony made decision to sell off the Vaio PC brand to a Japanese investment fund. Still, Sony has a 5% stake in the new company. Since 2015, Vaio is selling independently the Vaio-branded laptops in Brazil and the US.

Now we have to wait and see how Vaio is going to grab the Indian market with Nexstgo. If Vaio comes with the premium high-end notebooks in the country, it will not be surprising where Dell XPS 13 and Apple Mac Book Pro is already dominating the market.

According to a report by IANS, more than half of the Rs 4,017.11 crore, the BCCI earned under “income” during the year was a majority from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 which is approximately INR 2,407.46. “As per the Societies Act, under which the BCCI is registered, it should submit its balance sheet within six months of the end of each financial year, besides sharing it with its members (state associations), and the International Cricket Council. Moreover, from the past few years, BCCI’s income has gone up mainly because of the sale of the media rights of the Indian team for the bilateral Tests, ODIs, and T20 matches played at home, the IPL media rights, national team (jersey) sponsor, and series sponsor.

BCCI’s broadcast rights holder, Star India Network, pays BCCI Rs 43.20 crore per international home match. During the financial year 2018-19, India hosted 22 international games –seven Tests, 10 ODIs, and five T20s, which comes up with a total of Rs 950.40 crore, and for the telecast of IPL, STAR Network India, made a stupefying bid of Rs 16,347.50 crore for five years, which is Rs 54.50 crore per match.

Series sponsor PayTM pays Rs 2.42 crore per match, national team jersey sponsor, Oppo pays them Rs 4.61 crore per match, before Byju’s took over on September 5, 2019, to March 31, 2022.

Derrick White reportedly suffers fracture on the toe; his return will be based on rehab

Derrick White had only suited up once for the San Antonio Spurs this season on Friday, in a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers in which he played for 23 minutes. He was on a minutes restriction. Else, he had been limited by a toe injury that has gotten worse since it’s initial diagnosis.

In August of 2020, White had offseason toe surgery and was dealing with a sprain on that left toe. He missed training camp, the preseason and the first four games of the regular season. On Sunday, he stubbed that toe, aggravating the injury. On Monday, it was learnt that he has suffered a fractured of that toe, and no timeline has been mentioned for his possible return, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

White missed San Antonio’s loss to Utah on Sunday which was the team’s fourth straight defeat following two wins during the opening of the season. Lonnie Walker and Keldon Johnson have both taken substantial steps forward, and the silver lining to White’s injury or that it could mean more playing time for the first-round pick and rookie Devin Vassell.

Before the season, White agreed to a four-year, $73 million contract extension with the Spurs. Now that White has seen recurring issues with that same toe, that long-term security looks invaluable. The Spurs do not need to rush White back to the court as they have so much young talent on the backcourt.

The 20th pick in the 2017 draft out of Colorado, White has been one of San Antonio’s key scorers and distributers since the past two seasons. He averaged a career-high 11.3 points with 3.5 assists last season. In seven games post the restart, he averaged 18.9 points, 5.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 29.8 minutes.
