ATK Mohun Bagan confirm signing of Liston Colaco from Hyderabad FC

While the season is still far away, ATK Mohun Bagan have confirmed their first new signing ahead of the 21-22 season, recruiting Liston Colaco from fellow ISL club Hyderabad FC. The player operates as a winger and impressed during the 20-21 season, making Antonio Habas confident enough to invest in him.

“It’s a great honour for me. It feels great to know that I will play for Kolkata in the Green-Maroon jersey. A new chapter has begun in my football career. I will try my best,” Colaco said after joining ATK Mohun Bagan.

Since the ISL has placed a limit on the number of foreign players that can be played in the starting XI as up to four, the signing of Indian players becomes even more important. And the capturing of Colaco could be a vital piece of business for the Mariners to better challenge Mumbai City FC for their crown this time around.

The Goa-born player registered two goals and three assists in the previous campaign and is made his debut for the Indian national team on 29th March of this year, and has been called up. There have been reports that state Colaco’s transfer to ATKMB could be the most expensive signing in their history, but the transfer fee is yet undisclosed.

The player will join ATKMB starting July 1, leaving Hyderabad FC after a year with the club following a breakthrough with his hometown club, FC Goa.

It is good to see that this move is said to create 2,500 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs. Many jobs and businesses have been affected due to lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic, so this is a good move by Flipkart to strengthen its supply chain and delivery and create job opportunities in the process.

Real Madrid lose €15 million in four days

0

Real Madrid are estimated to have lost a sum worth €5 million in earnings through ticket sales due to the absence of fans in their recent victory against Barcelona in the 264th El Clasico. Adding to the financial burdens of the club, their first leg clash against Liverpool in the Champions League could have brought in about €10 million.

However, Los Blancos are set to miss out on all that money due to the pandemic preventing fans from entering stadiums at all. This has been the case for most clubs, but revenue of this stature will no doubt leave a hole in the finances of most clubs across Europe.

The players of the club are already taking a 10% salary cut due to the absence of funds among the pandemic. Additionally, Real Madrid also have to negotiate new contracts with many of their important players which could only add to their financial burdens or they risk losing the player on a free transfer.

The reigning La Liga Champions managed to rise to the top of the table again when they beat Barcelona 2-1 in the most recent El Clasico. Additionally, they completed the double over their rivals for the first time in over a decade to deny them the chance to go to the top of the table instead.

Google is Shutting Down its Mobile Shopping App in Favor of Web Experience

Google’s mobile Shopping apps for both iOS and Android is shutting down and it is directing users to its web Shopping site instead, 9to5 Google reported. Xda Developers discovered on Friday, that several strings of codes have seen the term “sunset” added in the Shopping app, suggesting the apps were being discontinued.

As per a Google spokesperson, the apps will continue to function through June. “Within the next few weeks, we’ll no longer be supporting the Shopping app. All of the functionality the app offered users is available on the Shopping tab,” the spokesperson said, according to The Verge. “We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app.” The shopping.google.com site will remain active.

Though the Android version uses a bottom bar rather than a navigation drawer like the web experience, both are essentially identical. The “Home” feed stores recommended products that you might be interested in, while you can see a list of products that you “Saved.” Order updates and promotions are in the “Notifications” tab, while “Cart” lets you start the purchase process. Tapping your profile avatar in the search bar lets you quickly reorder from your past “Orders.” With the Android app built using Flutter, the web and Android app share feature parity.

Until a rebrand in 2019, Google Shopping’s Android app used to be known as ‘Express’. Before Google confirmation late last week about the app’s impending death, users started experiencing “Something went wrong” error messages that directed them to visit the web version instead.

A user tweeted, “RIP Google Shopping’s mobile app. Google is preparing to sunset it. New fragment in v59 of the Android app.”

The mobile Shopping app is now added to the list of Google apps getting the ax back to back— Reader, Hangouts, Plus— the list goes on.

Jesse Lingard is better than ever under David Moyes at West Ham

0

Jesse Lingard has essentially revived not only his season but also his career due to his performances out on loan with West Ham United from Manchester United. West Ham have managed to unlock the best of the player, who was called back up to the England squad again.

The winger scored a brace against Leicester City in the match held earlier today. Considering that the player was frozen out of the Manchester United squad, his performances have skyrocketed since he joined David Moyes at the London Stadium.

Lingard was not only on the scoresheet against Leicester, but also against Wolves where the player scored an amazing solo goal to open the scoring early at the Molineux. In 9 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, Lingard has scored 8 times and assisted 4 goals.

Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has also talked about how the player should choose his next move very carefully, since a future back at Manchester United looks very unlikely.

“I don’t see him going back to Manchester United,” Merson told Sky Sports. “He wants to play football. He’s gone to West Ham to play football, now he’s got the love back a bit.

“He lost a little bit of the love of the football, I think he lost his way a little bit. Now he’s loving football again, he’s playing.

“You want to play every week. There’s no point him going back to Manchester United and playing in the Carabao Cup games.”

Juventus plan on selling valuable players to raise funds

0

Owing to the absence of income due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, clubs have been massively affected financially. The team in focus today, Juventus, have reported losses worth £99 million for the first six months of the 20-21 season.

To cope with the frantic loss of funds, the Serie A champions plan on selling players to raise at least £85 million to balance out the books. Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Federico Bernardeschi, Alex Sandro, Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey, and rather surprisingly, Weston McKennie are all transfer-listed right now.

McKennie but hes saucy Juventus plan on selling valuable players to raise funds

The USMNT star only recently signed a new contract with Juventus to make his loan deal from Schalke permanent. Hence, it is surprising that Juventus would be willing to part with an asset as valuable as McKennie, especially considering they have plans to build the future of the team around him.

The removal of the wages of these players from their books will also help the club save some extra money.

The most prolific player on the transfer list is the holder of the number 10 shirt at Juventus, Paulo Dybala. The Argentinian has been on the bench or sidelined for most of the season and only has a year of contract left. With his deal set to expire in 2022, Juventus could risk losing him for free next season if nothing comes to pass this summer.

The player has been linked with a move to Tottenham and could materialize this summer if they don’t reach an agreement for a contract extension or if the situation doesn’t improve.
