A few days ago we reported the official announcement of the AMD Ryzen 9 5900 to be an OEM exclusive CPU and we have the same fate with its 8-core brother – the Ryzen 7 5800. AMD did this last time as well, reserving the value-for-money low TDP CPUs for OEMs only.
At the start of the year, we did get a hint of this as well as the leaked specs of both of these CPUs, however, now we can genuinely say both of them are now available in broad daylight. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800 along with the Ryzen 9 5900 have been spotted on Alienware’s configuration website for the Aurora Ryzen Edition gaming desktops.
The new Ryzen 7 5800 is almost similar to its brother Ryzen 7 5800X we reviewed earlier but with a low TDP of 65W and clock speeds of 3.4 GHz base and 4.6 GHz boost. Apart from these minor changes, everything else remains similar like the 32 MB of L3 cache and 4 MB of L2 cache.
It makes sense to use the more efficient Zen 3 cores on pre-built PCs, which require low TDP, and this is why again AMD has made both of these processors OEM exclusive. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800 configuration is $150 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 5800X configuration, while the Ryzen 9 5900 is a whopping $300 cheaper than the Ryzen 9 5900X configuration.
So, you do not lose much by opting for the non-X Ryzen counterparts and on top of that these CPUs draw less TDP, offering better efficiency.

AMD’s amazing Smart Access Memory feature has been made available for its latest Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, however, its rival NVIDIA seems to have come up with its solution to fight against team Red’s new feature.
Its new technology, called the Resizable BAR enables the CPU to access the entire frame buffer of the GPU, avoiding potential queues for asset transfer requests. However, it is a slightly different approach compared to its rival’s technology. NVIDIA has enabled the Resizable BAR support only in select games.
These games are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Battlefield V, Borderlands 3, Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Death Stranding, DIRT 5, F1 2020, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Godfall, Hitman 2, Hitman 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Metro Exodus, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Watch Dogs Legion.
However, that doesn’t mean you cannot use the technology in older games. a developer has discovered a method to force any game to utilize Resizable BAR. To do so, you’ll have to use the NVIDIA Inspector tool. In the NVIDIA Inspector, pick the game you want to try Resizable BAR with and flip on the penultimate icon from the toolbar, the one that shows unknown settings from NVIDIA predefined profiles.
Change the values of 0x000F00BA and 0x000F00BB and, a bit further down, 0x000F00FF. In the dropdown menu, just activate them by switching to the flag which mentions the officially supported titles, then apply the changes.
However, the Resizable BAR doesn’t necessarily deliver a flat-out performance increase in all games, so there may be cases that the game’s performance drops severely after activating the Resizable BAR technology. please feel free to try it at your own risk.
NVIDIA is launching its brand new Ampere-based A10 and A30 Tensor Core GPUs using the GA102 GPU and GA100 GPU, respectively, aimed at data centers and are mostly geared towards virtualization platforms.
While both of these GPUs will be Ampere-based, the memory subsystem will be very different. The A10 will offer GDDR6 and the A30 going with the standard HBM2 memory standard for data centers. Here’s a detailed look at the specs.
NVIDIA A10 Ampere Tensor Core GPU
The NVIDIA A10 Tensor Core GPU features 72 SMs for a total of 9216 CUDA Cores and is powered by the GA102-890 SKU. The GPU features PCIe Gen 4.0 compliance and operates at a base clock of 885 MHz, and boosts up to 1695 MHz. In terms of memory, it features 24 GB GDDR6 VRAM, which operates at 12.5 Gb/s across a 384-bit wide bus interface while delivering a bandwidth of 600 GB/s.
It uses a champagne gold-colored shroud for its design, which comes in a single-slot, full-length form factor. There is no fan on it since this is a passively cooled card, and power is provided through a single 8-pin connector with the A10 Tensor Core GPU running off a single 8-pin connector meet its 150W TDP demand.
In terms of performance, according to WCCHTECH, “the NVIDIA A10 Tensor Core GPU offers up to 31.2 TF FP32, 62.5 TF TF32, 125 TF BFLOAT16, 250 TOPS INT8, 500 TOPS INT4 & twice the rates with sparsity.”
NVIDIA A30 Ampere Tensor Core GPU
The NVIDIA A30 Tensor Core GPU seems to make use of a rather cut-down variant of GA100 SKU that features a base clock of 930 MHz and a boost clock of up to 1440 MHz. The GPU operates at a speed of 1215 MHz across a 3072-bit wide bus interface as it is equipped with 24 GB of HBM2 VRAM. This means that we are looking at only three active HBM2 memory stacks that deliver up to 933 GB/s of memory bandwidth.
The NVIDIA A30 Tensor Core GPU features a dual-slot and full-length design and is powered by a single 8-pin connector too but has a higher rated TDP of 165W. “In terms of performance, the NVIDIA A30 Tensor Core GPU offers up to 5.2 TF FP64, 10.3 TF Peak FP64TF, 10.3 TF FP32, 82 TF TF32, 165 TF BFLOAT16, 330 TOPS INT8, 661 TOPS INT4 & twice the rates with sparsity.”

Microsoft Corp. is buying speech-recognition pioneer Nuance Communications Inc. at $56 a share, a 23% premium to Friday’s close, in an all-cash total deal valued at $19.6 billion, gaining artificial-intelligence technology aimed at upgrading hospitals’ digital record-keeping and helping doctors predict patients’ needs, according to a statement made on Monday. The deal marks Microsoft’s largest acquisition since LinkedIn Corp. in 2016 that was purchased at an equity value of more than $26 billion.
The transaction value is derived by about 350 million fully diluted shares of Nuance multiplied by the $56 a share value, including stock options and stock awards. The acquisition will decrease earnings by less than 1% in the year that begins July 1, Microsoft informed, and start to add to profit the following year.
The software giant is acquiring Nuance to develop solutions that free doctors from note-taking and better determine healthcare needs. It has been working with the company tied to the Siri voice technology for two years on AI software that aids clinicians to get a hold of patient discussions and integrate them into electronic health records, and combining Nuance’s products into its Teams chat app for telehealth appointments.
“The Nuance deal is a strategic no-brainer,” Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives wrote in a note Monday, according to Bloomberg. It “fits like a glove into its health-care endeavors at a time in which hospitals and doctors are embracing next-generation AI capabilities,” Ives said, also praising Nuance Chief Executive Officer Mark Benjamin for leading a turnaround that has made his company a “unique asset” for Microsoft.
Under CEO Benjamin, the speech technology company has narrowed its focus and separated peripheral businesses, such as the automotive AI unit, Cerence Inc., which was spun off two years ago. Thoma Bravo’s Kofax bought Nuance’s imaging division for $400 million.
Although the companies have partnered for two years, “together we can really bend the curve around health care – really improve the health outcomes and reduce costs,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in an interview. “Every provider, that’s what they want coming out of this pandemic, they want to look for a trusted partner, in this case, the combination of Nuance and Microsoft, to help them.”
By selling more cloud software to hospitals and doctors, Microsoft has been trying to make inroads into the healthcare sector. As AI software develops and sees better days at parsing language and predicting medical needs, both Microsoft and Nuance may be able to develop technology that searches for certain words in health records to make better suggestions to doctors for patient care. The acquisition is likely to deepen Amazons’ competition with Microsoft. Amazon has pushed to sell its cloud-computing services and Alexa voice software to healthcare companies, in recent years. Both Amazon and Google are also investing heavily in the AI field.
As of Friday, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, Nuance’s shares had climbed 3.4% this year, giving the company a market value of almost $13 billion. The gain still trailed the 9.9% jump in the S&P 500 Index, while Microsoft added 15%. Microsoft shares were a little changed Monday in New York, and Nuance rose 17%.
“We believe the valuation is sensible, given Nuance’s leadership in conversational AI and what Microsoft could do with its software assets. We also don’t see any other strategic acquirers, based on the size of the transaction.”
Nuance’s Benjamin will join Microsoft, after the deal expectedly closes this calendar year, retaining the CEO title and reporting to Microsoft cloud chief Scott Guthrie. Nuance’s financial results will be included as part of Microsoft’s intelligent cloud unit.
Nuance, the company that laid the groundwork for the technology used in Apple Inc.’s Siri, had a net income of $91 million on revenue of $1.48 billion for its fiscal year ending September 30, after losing $217 million the previous year.
Nuance, whose products include Dragon speech-recognition software, already has partnerships with large electronic medical records companies like Cerner Corp. and Epic Systems Corp., and Microsoft plans to continue those, Nadella said. The goal is “absolutely not” to try to replace those companies, he said. “If anything we want to double down on our partnership with Epic and Cerner.”
The Dragon Ambient Experience software, used to ease how clinicians document patient care, is expected to be offered in other industries where AI tools to turn speech into records can be useful, Benjamin said.
Microsoft has also been increasingly focused on health care. Coincidentally, one of Microsoft’s Boston-area offices is located right next to Nuance’s headquarters.
“The more we worked together, the more we realized that we’re solving some of the greatest, most challenging, and complex scenarios and speed matters,” Benjamin said in an interview.

Last month, the software giant was in talks to acquire Discord Inc. for more than $10 billion, a video-game chat community. It also bought Zenimax Media Inc., a video-game maker, for $7.5 billion in cash in a deal that closed this year.

boAt is mainly an audio device focused brand, however, shifts its interest to other accessories and smartwatch department for a quite long time now. Its portfolio already contains three smartwatches – Watch Enigma, Watch Storm, and Watch Flash. Nw, the company teases the arrival of the fourth one. The upcoming smartwatch is called boAt Watch Xplorer.
boAt doesn’t mention any of the specs, features, pricing, and launch date. But teases through three images with some notes. From the images, we can easily understand the watch is square in shape having a knob on the right.
boAt frequently mentions this smartwatch is for explorers, those who love to explore. So, the Watch Xplorer may have some features that can help the users during their journey. The expected features are a built-in GPS, compass, various activity modes, health tracking sensors, a high IP rating, good battery life, better & brighter display, and obviously, comfort.
Among these features, the company indirectly confirms some. Like, the first image boAT post on Instagram shows a map, and the watch outlines over it. In the other images, there are various activities shown. The last image has the compass sign on the watch display, and around the watch, there are shoes, a backpack, and a camera. The shoes probably represent comfort and durability; the backpack indicates that the watch has lots of specs to support you during the journey; you can control your smartphone camera from your wrist, the camera icon is for that; and lastly, the smartwatch will have the compass.
As I mentioned, no specification is officially mentioned, neither the pricing and the launch date. We have to wait for further information from boAt.
Google Chrome Canary browser has just received a new feature for its preview version. The feature adds a global media controller to the upper right corner of the toolbar. It allows the users to control the web videos directly using the browser.
According to sources, the new video controlling tool is now available for all the Canary browser versions. However, as of now, the only thumbnail of the video can be displayed. The feature in its current state is excellent for those who want to play only sound focus videos and do not need to watch the screen.
The feature is expected to improve tremendously in the future. As of now, it is stated that the new feature is fully compatible with YouTube webpages. As for the compatibility with other web pages, it is yet to be known.
It’s not just the video control support but also the latest version of the Google Chrome Canary Beta browser, which supports yet another new feature. When a user views a tab and closes it, he can reopen it in the form of packets after some time. Some web pages are in groups before the user closes the browser. The user can still view these web pages in groups when viewing the history.
After the group tabs are closed, to quickly open them, a user needs to click the shortcut key “Ctrl +Shift +T.” Previously, using shortcut keys, you could only open a single closed tab. The feature was launched on the Google Chrome browser in 2020, which automatically groups the same type of tabs into a group according to colors.
