After two years, fans will return to the Marina Arena to support their favourite team Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). In a bid to celebrate the occasion and welcome their passionate fans, Chennaiyin have introduced a Club Membership ahead of the 2022/23 Indian football season.

According to BBC News, Japan has declared war on antiquated technological solutions like floppy discs and CDs after a government committee discovered that almost 2,000 applications and other forms were still being submitted using them. Japan’s digital minister Taro Kano criticised their continued use despite the availability of significantly more practical solutions in recent years.

According to a tweet sent this week by Kano, Japan’s Digital Agency will soon amend its rules to allow the use of contemporary online services.

According to IBM, the floppy disc was created in 1971 and rose to prominence as the primary method for storing, exchanging, and running programmes in the 1980s. In the 2000s, storage discs were gradually replaced by CDs, DVDs, and eventually USB sticks.

According to the BBC, despite developing innovations like the compact disc, Japan hasn’t fully embraced antiquated office solutions from the past due to a lack of digital literacy, conservative outlooks, and bureaucratic culture.

NRAI issues caution to Restaurants over Zomato Pay and Swiggy Diner

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) issued a warning to the restaurant industry on Friday, branding the new Zomato Pay and Swiggy Diner programmes “bizaare” and urging them to exercise caution before signing up.

Customers are lured into paying their bills using Zomato Pay or Swiggy Diner, according to a warning from the NRAI, “because of the deep discounts and generous cash backs that comes with it; it is a deal too good to refuse at no cost”.

Restaurants must now, however, provide discounts of between 15% and 40% to every consumer who decides to pay their bills through these payment portals.

Other payment gateways charge between 1% and 1.5% on similar transactions as a point of comparison. Both Zomato and Swiggy had not yet responded to the NRAI advisory. Zomato and Swiggy will establish a strong presence in the dine-in market after squeezing every last penny of profit from the delivery sector, according to the NRAI.

Zomato also offers “Zomato Vibes” with “Zomato Pay,” which is essentially a tool for social interaction.

The Zomato Gold programme, which is solely available for dine-in clients, was introduced in November 2017 with “the lofty promise” of connecting affluent diners with a hand-picked selection of upscale eateries.

6. Barcelona – $168.3 million
