OnePlus to launch a new Nord-series smartwatch

OnePlus is expected to launch a bunch of new devices in India including the OnePlus Nord 3, Nord Watch and more Nord devices soon. Now, the Global technology brand OnePlus on Monday officially announced to bring its first smartwatch under the Nord series in the Indian market.

The company has shared a teaser image and confirmed the launch of the upcoming Nord Watch in the country soon. The company already has a OnePlus Watch that is currently priced at Rs 13,999. Being a “Nord” product, Nord Watch is expected to have a highly aggressive price tag. The Nord Watch will be the first Nord-branded smartwatch.

OnePlus Nord Smartwatch

Specifications and pricing-wise, we can expect the Nord Watch to be an entry-level smartwatch, sitting below the more premium Watch offering. The Nord Watch will have a rectangular dial and a button on the right side. The teaser shared by the company showcases the upcoming smartwatch in a black colour option. Though, we can expect the company to launch the Nord Watch in other colour options as well.

The Nord Watch will have a 240×280 display as per the leaked information. It is said to offer a heart-rate sensor and a blood-oxygen monitoring sensor. It is also certain to have heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, workout tracking, dedicated exercise monitoring, daily activity tracking, and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity, similar to other smartwatches and bands.

Going by the leaked information, the upcoming Nord Watch will not use OnePlus Health as the companion app. Instead, the company has developed an all-new N-Health app for the Nord Watch. We can also expect the Nord watch to feature a SpO2 sensor, given that even the OnePlus Band comes with it.

OnePlus to launch smartwatch under Nord brand

OnePlus’s Watches are based on RTOS or Real-time operating systems. They can seamlessly communicate with “smartphones, audio peripherals, smart wearable devices, and even TVs, making smart control over all these devices simple and intuitive,” according to the company. As per the leak, a OnePlus Nord smartwatch appeared on the BIS certification website with model number OPBBE221.

It is also speculated to have a unique-looking strap and is going to be available in three colours: Back, White and Gold. Since this is a Nord branded product, it will be targeted at the masses and will be a budget segment product. We can expect it to be priced between Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000.

Firoz Nadiadwala already started to work on Mahabharat and targets to build it into the most visually stunning movie ever for an Indian film. Recently, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva already considered as Rs 420 Crore but it has appeared that there is another upcoming Hindi movie that will soon set to overtake not only Ayan Mukherji’s directorial but also Rajnikanth’s 2.0 become expensive film ever. The new reports have confirmed that the producer Firoz Nadiadwala is making a plan to shoot the epic tale of Hindus, ‘Mahabharat that’s set to cost Rs 700 crore budget.

One source from Bollywood Hungama confirms that “Firoz Nadiawala has begun work on Mahabharat and aims to make it the most visually stunning film we in Indian cinema.” he also added, “The man production will take another couple of years. The main filming will start in the first quarter of 2025. it will hopefully be released in the original Hindi language and dubbed in multiple languages In December 2025.” 

According to the sources, Firoz Nadiawala said, “The entire story of the Mahabharat will be coveted in three hours,” the filmmaker believes that this film will be India’s answer to marvel and DC films along with The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, a Harry Potter, and the others. The most important risk factor is its budget which Is expected to be Rs.  700 crores. As a result, it‘s going to be the most successful Indian film ever. In the lead roles, we will see Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh.

The upcoming film is going to draw inspiration from Nadiadwala’s own 1965 epic Mahabharat which featured Pradeep Kumar, Padmini, and Dara Singh in the lead roles. Firoz Nadiawala says, “the 1965 Mahabharata film was a blockbuster film at the box office,” Firoz and the team are following the same story and format in the film. Most of the action would be real, a la Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven rather than DX-heavy. 

Beyond the VDX, Firoz desires the characters of storytelling, emotions, and dialogues. Furthermore, “the background score will be recorded in Los Angeles, USA, and it will be grand and cinematic, similar to Zimmer’s BGM. The FX can be handled by a world-class company based in Los Angeles.

The Taiwanese giant is further going to expand its product portfolio in India, now shifting its focus to Chromebooks just before the festive season kicks in. After launching a plethora of Windows laptops, productivity as well as gaming and even casual usage, ASUS looks to launch a new range of Chromebooks, similar to what they did last year.

Like 2021, this time too, ASUS India is partnering with Flipkart to launch these new ChromeOS-powered devices and we suspect them to be very affordable as last year. So, these budget laptops will exclusively be available via Flipkart and there will be a wide range of them.
