Salernitana president invites Juventus for replay after refereeing disaster

Juventus recently played out a 2-2 draw with Salernitana in Serie A, and the game had a fiery conclusion. Max Allegri was sent off, alongside Arek Milik, who thought he had scored the winner only for it to be ruled out by VAR for offside. 

However, it has now emerged that the entire Juventus backline was played onside by Antonio Candreva. As a result, the decision to chalk off the goal by the referees was an incorrect one, and it led to some intense reactions from the Juventus camp.

“The referee error in Juventus-Salernitana? If the Bianconeri want to play it again, there is no problem for us,” Danilo Iervolino said, speaking to Kiss Kiss Napoli (via La Gazzetta dello Sport). 

Milik would be sent off for taking his shirt on during celebrations, while already on a yellow card. And the game ended in a draw despite the Old Lady managing to score a late winner. The Italian Referees Association has acknowledged the mistake, and has explained that they did not have access to all the angles needed to make the right call – which seems quite bizarre. 

The Bianconeri are now preparing for their Champions League game against Benfica in midweek.

MPL Sports & BCCI launch a new campaign to include fans in the unveiling of the new Team India T20I jersey

India, September 13, 2022: With the World Cup just a little over a month away, there’s a new Official Team India T20I Jersey around the corner. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and MPL Sports, the official kit partner, announced a new campaign called #HarFanKiJersey ahead of the launch.

MPL Sports has launched a microsite called Har Fan Ki Jersey, where users can upload their stories of what makes them a true blue cricket fan. By doing so, they will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the jersey unveiling. As the stories get populated on the site, a part of the jersey will be uncovered, giving fans a sneak peek into the much-awaited kit for this year.

The new jersey will replace the Billion Cheers jersey, launched during last year’s World Cup, for all T20 format games.

Besides getting a first look at the jersey, users can also get a chance to be crowned a “superfan”. Once fans upload their stories, they will get a unique referral code, which when used by their friends and followers, will earn them points and a spot on a leaderboard. Rewards include exclusive discounts; the brand will also run contests on social media giving users a chance to win match tickets as well as other money-can’t-buy experiences. Participation also guarantees a digital certificate of appreciation from MPL Sports and BCCI. The best superfan stories will be shared on the official MPL Sports social media pages as well.

The #HarFanKiJersey campaign aims to mobilize the billions of fans of the Indian cricket team, and give them a platform to share their passion for the game and the team.

Magenta Mobility now enters Delhi markets, and partners with Flipkart to bring EVs to its fleet

Flipkart announced its partnership with Magenta Mobility, an electric mobility solutions provider, to deploy electric vehicles for its last-mile transportation. With this collaboration, Magenta Mobility formally enters the National Capital Area (Delhi NCR) and will deploy around 400 electric cargo vehicles to the Flipkart fleet in Delhi NCR. This deployment is over and above the existing fleet that Magenta operates for Flipkart in Bengaluru.

The announcement was preceded by a cargo vehicle flag-off ceremony held at Flipkart’s hub in Inayatpur and presided over by Mr. Randheer Singh from NITI Ayog, Mr. Amit Kumar of Flipkart, Ms. Sophia Nadur from BP Ventures, Ms. Pooja Mehta of JITO Angel Network and Maxson Lewis from Magenta Mobility.

Magenta Mobility operates an electric fleet of over 500 vehicles in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, serving clients in e-commerce, grocery delivery, FMCG, food & pharmaceuticals. To date, the brand’s electric cargo fleet has travelled over 1 million clean (electric) kilometres, equating to approximately 150 metric tons of CO2.

Intel Raptor Lake i7-13700T CPU beats AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X in new Benchmark

The 35W Raptor Lake CPU, the Intel Core i7-13700T, has recently been the subject of new benchmarks that demonstrate outstanding performance levels. There will be three different types of Intel Raptor Lake 13th Gen CPUs: K-series, Non-K series, and T-Series.

The unlocked K-series has TDPs that range from 125W (PL1) up to 253W. (PL2). Next are the Non-K parts, which have TDPs between 65W (PL1) and 200W. (PL2). The T-series SKUs, which are designed for low-power devices and have a base TDP of 35W (PL1) and a maximum TDP of around 100W, are the last group (PL2). 

The other two Core i7-13700 SKUs share the same core configuration as the Intel Core i7-13700T CPU, which Benchleaks found in several Geekbench 5 listings. The clock speeds are where the discrepancies lie. There are 24 threads and 16 cores on the CPU (8 P cores and 8 E cores). With a base clock speed of 1.40 GHz and a peak clock speed of up to 4.90 GHz, the processor has 30 MB of L3 cache.

The Raptor Lake CPU performed well, earning 11,564 points in the multi-core test of Geekbench 5 and 1939 points in the single-core test.

This indicates that under single-core demands, the CPU is already competitive with the Core i9-12900K. Further, the CPU was running on a DDR4 platform, which is going to be a huge advantage for low-power users because DDR5 motherboards cost extra and can also consume higher power. In multi-core loads, the CPU ends up 11% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X & on par with the Core i5-12600K.

This is an excellent demonstration of the 35W component, and even if the chip’s maximum PL2 TDP is 106W (the same as the 12900T), the CPU will still be superior to the Ryzen 7 5800X, which has a maximum package power of 142W, and the 12600K, which has a PL2 rating of 150W.

On the Z790 platform, the Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake desktop CPUs, including the flagship Core i9-13900K, are anticipated to go on sale in October. The Ryzen 7000 CPU family from AMD, which also debuts in the fall of 2022, will compete against these CPUs. Raptor Lake’s initial SKUs will only have K-series processors, with Non-K CPUs and standard motherboards following soon after.

Google is working on a new Pixel Tablet Pro: Report

A new model of the Pixel Tablet is currently being developed by Google, and it will be released at some point in 2019. However, it seems that this tablet won’t be the only option; a more expensive Pro model is also in the works.

The information was discovered by 9To5Google when looking through the most recent Android 13 source code. The name of this tablet could be”tangorpro”. For those unaware, the Pixel Tablet has the codename “tangor,” thus this effectively suggests that a higher-end variant is also in the works right now.

Unfortunately, more specific information about the Pixel Tablet Pro is not yet available. Nevertheless, it does seem that the Pro version will have a different rear camera sensor than the Google Tablet model it is built on. According to what we already know, this tablet will surely be released shortly and utilize the same exclusive Tensor series chipsets that power the Google Pixel 6 series of smartphones.

Apple introduced its iPhone 14 series last week, and the Dynamic Island on the Pro models was one of the main highlights of that event. Now, the Android smartphone realm might soon witness the Dynamic Island feature. A MIUI theme developer just created an Android version of Apple’s Dynamic Island.

While not directly from smartphone brands, a replication of the Island feature on the iPhone 14 series has been created for the Android platform by third-party developers. However, this particular version is only available via a theme known amusingly as “Grumpy UI” when directly translated, which is currently under development for Xiaomi’s MIUI.

MIUI theme brings the Dynamic Island of iPhone 14 Pro to Xiaomi

Android smartphone makers have been trying to eliminate the notch since it first appeared on smartphones. That future will arrive once under-display camera technology has fully matured. Apple has taken a different route with the iPhone 14 Pro series, though. Instead of hiding the pill-shaped notch, the company has embraced it using Dynamic Island. 

However, the day is not so far when the other Android OEMs may create something similar to it. And we may witness the Dynamic Island feature on the Android realm too. Apple’s Dynamic Island is perhaps the main talking point of the iPhone 14 Pro, and it may see its Android version on Xiaomi phones, as a theme developer has created a feature that simulates this capability.

In a 10 seconds clip shared by TechDroider’s Vaibhav Jain on Twitter, we can see the Dynamic Island-like notifications in action on a Xiaomi phone. The video showcases that the notification island is floating separately from the punch-hole cutout. But when expanded, it manages to hide the selfie camera, and a now-playing section emerges out of the pill-like island. The theme developers told Vaibhav Jain that the Dynamic Island theme update is still under review. If Xiaomi approves the theme, it’ll be available via the MIUI Theme store.

Its function is akin to how the notification shade on Android phones works, except that it houses them all in a small pill-shaped area. However, unlike Apple’s Dynamic Island, this one doesn’t encompass the front-facing camera. When the display was turned off, the second screen, as it was called, would show the date, time, and connection status.

The Dynamic Island to feature on Xiaomi with MIUI theme

Unlike iPhone, Android has a robust notification system that makes managing alerts from various apps and services much easier. So, Dynamic Island-like functionality won’t be that useful on Android phones. But if you want to experience the feature without buying an iPhone, this MIUI theme should help suffice that. As of now, the theme is currently under Xiaomi’s review process. It will make its way to the MIUI theme store once it gets the required approvals.
