The best programming languages to learn

0

If you decide to join the ranks of those who, with their own hands, create a new technological reality, there is a question of choosing the actual programming language. There are many of them, but not all of them are widely used. Moreover, most languages are outdated, but you should credit them because many of these pioneers served as the basis for modern developments.

What are programming languages in demand these days? For example, what language is used to program roulette online game and other online entertainment? We will try to answer this question in this article.

The history of programming languages – where it all began

The first programming language in the world is considered to be the codes of operations, used on the Jacquard loom back in 1804. However, the starting point of the history of high-level programming languages is 1943-1945, when Konrad Zuse, the German inventor of the world’s first computer, undertook the task of designing Plankalkül for his next computing machine Z4.

After the release of the first electronic general-purpose digital computer ENIAC in the USA in 1946, programming languages began to appear like mushrooms after the rain. Let us mention the most important ones:

  • Fortran (1957) was the first widely used programming language to support a wide variety of computer architectures.
  • ALGOL (1958), an algorithmic language created by a joint committee of American and European scientists, served as the starting point for the development of Pascal, C, C++, and Java.
  • COBOL (1959) – the first business-oriented programming language.
  • BASIC (1964) – the first programming language designed specifically for people unfamiliar with computers and mathematics.
  • Pascal (1970) – was initially developed to teach students structural programming, one of the world’s best-known languages.
  • Smalltalk (1972) – later had a significant influence on the development of object-oriented languages: Objective-C, Java, Ruby, Python, and others.

Let us take a look at the languages that appear at the tops most often.

JavaScript

Main areas of usage

  • Web development (Frontend and Backend).
  • Development of mobile applications.
  • Creation of desktop applications.

JavaScript is incredibly popular right now. According to various studies, the majority of new projects have been written in this programming language for years. It was initially developed for the frontend and backend parts of websites in 1995. Contrary to the first impression of its name, it has nothing to do with the Java programming language.

Statistics show that 97% of web applications use JavaScript to process events directly in the user’s browser. Historically, the programming language was most commonly used for frontend. But with the advent of the powerful Node.js programming platform, it is also very much used for server-side website development.

Mobile cross-platform development is conducted by many companies using the React Native framework. A smaller but still significant market share is behind JavaScript in desktop software, thanks in large part to Electron JS. Google Chrome, Skype, Discord, and Atom, for example, have been written using this framework.

Python

Main areas of usage

  • Web development (Backend).
  • Big Data.
  • Machine Learning.

Python is now a programming language with rapidly growing popularity. It threatens to squeeze out giants like Java and C++ and take the place of the most popular language in the world. Unfortunately, all the hype surrounding Python makes you think it’s a novelty like Scala back in the day. But no, Python was created by Guido van Rossum back in 1991.

The main advantage of this high-level programming language is its simple and intuitive syntax. That’s why Python is even taught in schools. On the other hand, since it is interpreted, it is relatively slow. But even this problem can be solved with, for example, Cython – an intermediate layer between Python and the programming languages C and C++.

Python is used to build the internal architecture of web applications using the Flask and Django frameworks. The latter is firmly in the top three global leaders in its direction. Python has also successfully cemented its place as the most used programming language in Machine Learning. So the neural network that processes photos on your smartphone is most likely written in this language. The same can be said about the algorithms that collect your data to show personalized ads.

Java

Main areas of usage

  • Web development (Backend).
  • Mobile application development.
  • Creation of desktop applications and computer games.
  • Embedded systems.

The language began to be developed as a tool for programming interactive TVs. It was initially called Oak, but because of a copyright conflict, it had to be renamed. The name was taken in honor of the coffee of the same name, as suggested by the official logo. The first version of Java was released in 1996.

Most of the mobile apps you see on Google Play, and the App Store are created using Java. In addition, several of the world’s most popular projects in their field are written in this programming language: the world’s most popular computer game Minecraft, as well as a search on Wikipedia.

According to estimates, about 3% of all Web site servers are built using Java. However, if you look at the largest sites in the world, the situation is quite different – of the 13 platforms with the highest traffic, 8 use Java in some way. It suggests that the programming language is prevalent in the Enterprise category – corporate development.

C and C++

Main areas of usage

  • Development, operating systems, software, and drivers.
  • Designing embedded systems.
  • Development of desktop applications and computer games.
  • Robots and microcontrollers.

C is the ancestor of many other programming languages and, without exaggeration, a legend. It appeared as far back as 1972. Its original purpose was system programming. So it’s no wonder that today a lot of OS is written in C. It includes the “big three”: macOS, Windows, and Linux. Also, the language is partly used in iOS and Android. Due to its extraordinary performance and conservatism in the consumption of system resources, C makes it possible to work in real-time almost without slowing down. And this is archival in the design of unmanned cars, smart watches, sensors, and so on. Not to mention the fact that C is not tied to any particular microprocessor or system.

If you don’t know C++, you’re not a programmer in the programming environment. That’s because this programming language does not forgive minor errors compared to many modern counterparts. For this reason, it’s challenging to learn C++ from scratch. But the salaries of C++ programmers are unusually high. The programming language was created back in 1983. It is incredibly fast because it is compilable. Only its predecessors C and Assembler are faster. Also, the language is universal – there are C++ compilers on every operating system. As a result, C++ has been very popular in game-device for the last decade. Today it occupies half of the video game market.

C#

Main areas of usage

  • Development of desktop applications and computer games.
  • Machine learning.
  • Mobile applications development.
  • Web development (Backend).

We probably wouldn’t have seen this programming language if Java was initially open source. But since Java was a closed project until 2006, Microsoft had to design its language for its development in 2000. So the company took the best of Java and added syntactic features to simplify and speed up development.

It is another programming language from the C family. It has many advantages: clean code, cross-platform, versatility, and high speed of development. Many libraries are written in it. C# fits incredibly well with the Microsoft ecosystem.

Here we go: Antony to Manchester United for €100 million agreed between clubs

0

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ajax for the signing of Antony. The final bid accepted is worth €100 million including add-ons. The player will travel to England soon to complete the medicals and be officially presented as a new player for the Red Devils.

The deal struck between the two clubs is worth €95 million upfront, and €5 million in add-ons. This makes the player one of the most expensive sales in the history of the Eredivisie.

Antony to join Manchester United after long-drawn transfer saga

The Brazilian recently spoke out in an interview that he wanted to leave Ajax for months. He had communicated his desire to move on months ago, and had also told the club that he wanted to be a record sale for them.

But, after several bids were rejected, the situation got more tumultuous which ultimately led to the interview. The contracts for the move are being prepared by the two sets of lawyers. Antony will be signing a contract with Manchester United until 2027, with the option to extend until 2028.

The paperwork is expected to be completed today, with personal terms agreed long ago.

Ajax are considering a return for Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech to replace Antony this late in the transfer window. With the sale finalised, they are now planning to move fast for their former player.

Indian Esports Athletes and Industry bats for Esports Recognition as a Sport ahead of next year’s Asian Games

0

Tripartite support – Infrastructure, Training and wellbeing will equip the athletes to bring more laurels for the country in esports

Esports has exploded in popularity over the last few years in India. Esports (Electronic sports) is a competitive sport where esports athletes use their physical and mental abilities to compete in certain genres of video games in a virtual, electronic environment. Recently, the Indian DOTA 2 team produced a power-packed performance to clinch the bronze medal at the first-ever Commonwealth Esports Championship. The Indian Dota 2 team, comprising Moin Ejaz (captain), Ketan Goyal, Abhishek Yadav, Shubham Goli, and Vishal Vernekar, defeated New Zealand by 2-0 in a best-of-three format in Birmingham (6-7 Aug 22).

As esports is going to make its debut at the Asian Games 2022, earlier in 2018 it was there as a demonstration title when our esports athlete Tirth Mehta won a bronze medal (Hearthstone). The Asian Games 2022, originally scheduled for September this year, will now be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023. With the conclusion of the ESFI’s National Esports Championships in April 2022, India’s 18-member esports contingent for the Asian Games 2022 was finalised.

1.      FIFA22 – Charanjot Singh and Karman Singh Tikka

2.      Street Fighter V – Mayank Prajapati and Ayan Biswas

3.      Hearthstone – Shikhar Choudhary and Karthik Varma

4.      League of Legends – Captain Akshaj Shenoy, Samarth Arvind Trivedi, Mihir Ranjan, Aditya Selvaraj, Aakash Shandilya and Sanindhya Malik

5.      DOTA 2 – Captain Moin Ejaz, Krish, Abhishek Yadav, Ketan Goyal, Darshan and Shubham Goli

Before this big tournament, for India to become an Esports nation, the game needs to be recognised as a Sport and build a solid grassroots structure in the country which can result in bringing more laurels to the country in competitive gaming. The same is advocated by esports athletes and industry players:

“After winning the medal at the Commonwealth Esports championship in Birmingham, it’s high time that esports should be recognised as a sport. Esports athletes need their due recognition and support from our government and help us in providing better facilities, coaches, health physios and all other things which other sports athletes get as getting a medal for the country need proper support.” said Indian DOTA 2 team captain Moin Ejaz

“With the medal wins at Asian Games 2018 & now at Commonwealth Esports Championship, the time has come to recognize esports as a sport. The potential of Indian esports and our athletes cannot be ignored and its recognition becomes more critical before the Asian Games 2022 (scheduled next year), this will open up doors for investments & opportunities which will lead to training & skill development of our athletes. It is encouraging to see our Hon’ble Sports Minister Shri Anurag Thakur ji launching a mobile video game “Azadi Quest: Heroes of Bharat & Match3” in line with India’s celebration of Azadi Ka Amritmahotsav, following should be recognition of esports as a sport” said Mr Lokesh Suji, Director, Esports Federation of India & Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF)

Charanjot Singh, FIFA 22 athlete who will represent India in the next year’s Asian Games said “Recognising esports as a sport will help a lot. This can lead to esports having a proper framework, facilities and opportunities for everyone. This will automatically lead to the growth of the Esports industry as well. More athletes would want to join in and want to represent the country at global stages.”

“It was a big achievement for India on winning the bronze medal in Commonwealth Esports. To make the industry more aligned, there should be information shared and communication between the government and stakeholders who have been investing in the Esports Ecosystem in India and including athletes and organizations. In order to have a healthy ecosystem, young athletes should also be given education in order to learn about the legal and financial nitty-gritty of Esports apart from the basic necessities of training, financial support and mental & physical well-being.” said Rohit Jagasia, Founder & CEO of Revenant Esports

“It will definitely help the players get more exposure and all the support players need from the government and from their family itself. Getting the right infrastructure and hardware is one of the most important aspects of preparing for the Asian Games. Players will show more dedication towards the games which will definitely give us top results in upcoming games too. We are already doing so much better and this would definitely be a big step for esports athletes.” said Mayank Prajapati, Street Fighter V athlete who will represent India at Asian Games 2022 on how recognising Esports as a sport will help the esports athletes before the next year’s Asian Games.

East Bengal 0-1 ATK Mohun Bagan, Durand Cup 2022: ATKMB Register Fifth Straight Derby Win

Sumeet Passi’s own goal has helped ATK Mohun Bagan secure a 1-0 win over arch-rivals East Bengal in the Durand Cup. It was the season’s first derby and unfortunately, an own goal settled the scoreline at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday. The Red and Gold Brigade are still winless and goalless in this tournament. The match is really important for both the teams as they look to register first win of the season.

Emami East Bengal vs ATK Mohun Bagan

An own goal by Sumeet Passi doomed East Bengal’s fate as ATK Mohun Bagan returned to winning ways by thinnest of margins (1-0) in the marquee ‘Kolkata Derby’ of Durand Cup on Sunday. East Bengal and ATK Mohun Bagan faced each other in Kolkata Derby after a really long time. Before Sunday, January 19, 2020, was the last time the City of Joy, Kolkata witnessed the prestigious, historic and most energetic encounter of Indian football – the Kolkata Derby. Cut back to August 28, 2022, the derby is back in the city.

Playing in front of a packed crowd of about 70,000, Mohun Bagan went ahead in a freak manner when Liston Colaco’s low flag-kick found Eliandro make a hash of a clearance not being to get a touch and the ball deflected into the net off an onrushing Passi, who was literally blindsided and couldn’t move his body out of line.

East Bengal 0-1 ATK Mohun Bagan, Durand Cup 2022: ATKMB Register Fifth Straight Derby Win

Stephen Constantine’s men could barely hold forte as Mohun Bagan kept up pressure from both flanks during the first 45 minutes. It could have been worse for East Bengal who almost conceded a second in the 54th minute but Kamaljit Singh fisted away a sure shot goal from star India midfielder Ashique Kuruniyan. East Bengal came out with a more attacking intent in the second-half but there was little support for their Brazilian forward Eliandro, while their long ball strategy was easily dealt by the Bagan defenders.

East Bengal slowly tried to get into the game after the half an hour mark and got their first shot at goal from a powerful Gonzalez long ranger that narrowly missed the target. Former India U-17 World Cupper Aniket Jadhav’s shot in the 49th minute but missed the direction. Soon they further raided the Mohun Bagan half with a counter-attacking move generated by Eliandro from the left but the three-man attack failed to get past the Mohun Bagan defence.

East Bengal and ATK Mohun Bagan have locked horns a total of 382 times across all competitions (including major, minor and exhibition games). The Red & Golds have emerged victorious 136 times. Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Bagan (previously Mohun Bagan) have won 122 matches. 124 fixtures have ended in draws.

Ander Herrera rejoins Athletic Bilbao on loan until 2023

0

Ander Herrera has rejoined Athletic Bilbao on a loan deal until 2023 with the option to make the move permanent included. He will be wearing the number 23 shirt as confirmed by the club on their official website.

The player will play his second spell with the Basque side now, and was welcomed back by 2,500 fans at their home stadium. The 33-year-old is expected to make his second debut next week.

Ander Herrera rejoins Athletic Bilbao on a loan deal

Here is what the midfielder had to say about his return: “Since I left Athletic you will have always heard me talking about how special this club is. I think even if you leave Athletic, Athletic never leaves you. This club changes you, that’s how it is. Athletic leaves a mark on you that is difficult to match in other places.

“I can’t wait to get started, I’ve imagined it many times during these last couple of weeks. I’m really looking forward to meeting up again with some teammates I’ve played with before.”

Ander Herrera was expected to leave on a free transfer after terminating his contract with the club. But, he has now sealed a loan move back to Spain after spending time at Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are now working to offload several other players before the end of the transfer window and trim their squad further.

Revealed: The real reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was not signed by Chelsea in 2022

0

Cristiano Ronaldo has chances to leave Old Trafford within the remaining days of the transfer window. But, the Portugal captain was linked with a move to Chelsea in the beginning of the transfer window.

Now, the reason behind Chelsea not going through with the move has been revealed. And it is actually because of a conversation that Thomas Tuchel had with Ralf Rangnick, who managed Manchester United during the latter half of the season.

Real reason behind Chelsea’s rejection of Cristiano Ronaldo revealed

Here is what Rangnick had to say about the five-time Ballon d’Or winner: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo, and I’m not blaming him at all, he did great in those games.

‘But he’s not a pressing monster. He’s not a player, even when he was a young player, who was crying, shouting “hooray, the other team has got the ball, where can we win balls?”

‘The same with quite a few other players so we had to make some compromises at one stage, maybe we made a few too many – that’s also possible.’

One of the main reasons behind Tuchel not wanting to build his attack around Ronaldo was his unwillingness to press. His age is not doing him any favours either, which has limited the energy he is able to expend on the pitch.

So, even though Todd Boehly wanted to sign the forward, the fact that he would not fit into the system has ruled him out as an option for the German tactician.
