The Frenkie de Jong transfer saga remains unresolved, heading into the final few days of the transfer window. Manchester United had reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign the player, but he refused to join them despite having the chance to reunite with Erik Ten Hag.

Now, the midfielder’s agents have arrived in Barcelona for crucial talks about his future. Barcelona want him to take a pay cut up to 40% if he wants to stay. However, with up to €20 million already deferred in payments to him, he is unwilling to negotiate a further pay cut with the club.

According to Sport, there are two options placed in front of the Netherlands international. He can either take a pay cut and stay at the club, or he can leave. 

If that is the case, then Barcelona will try to agree a deal with either Manchester United or Chelsea for Frenkie de Jong. Both clubs are interested in signing the Dutchman, but are on standby given his current situation. 

Recent reports suggest that Liverpool have also tabled a Β£60 million offer for the player. Whether or not it will be accepted remains to be seen. However, this means that there are more clubs becoming aware of the situation, and could act on it if the opportunity arises.

Samsung is reportedly working on the upcoming flagship Galaxy S23 series and the handsets are expected to go live at the starting of 2023. Samsung is expected to launch three premium smartphones in the lineup, namely the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. 

Now in the latest development popular and reliable tipster, Ice Universe has claimed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature the exact same design as the predecessor. The latter has a quad-camera setup on the back, with individual camera lenses protruding out of the body. The rear camera panel has a minimalist look with individual camera lenses standing out of the body with sensors circled by rings. Another ring houses the laser autofocus sensor.

β€œ100% confirmed that the Samsung S23 Ultra will maintain the exact same camera design as the S22 Ultra, I think this design is good and can continue to be used, it is simple and natural,” reads Ice Universe tweet.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 

Ahead of the launch, a new leak by tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have the same camera module design as its predecessor. This means that the S23 Ultra will sport will protruding cutouts for the quad-camera setup and the laser focus. The quad-camera setup of the Galaxy S22 Ultra consists of a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and two 10-megapixel sensors.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Camera Module Will Be Same as Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung is rumoured to upgrade the main camera from its 108MP sensor to a higher 200MP resolution but the sensor details are not known at the moment. It is likely that Samsung uses the HP1 sensor found in the Moto X30 Pro or might unveil a new one ahead of Unpacked 2023.  We can expect the other three camera sensors to offer the same resolution. This means that the S23 Ultra could feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two 10MP telephoto camera sensors with up to 100X zoom.

Recent leaks have indicated that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is said to include 5,000mAh battery. Samsung will launch the phone with a 6.8-inch display with a 3088 x 1440-pixel resolution. Other details of the phone remain unknown.

Nicolas Pepe joins Nice on loan until 2023  

The Ivory Coast attacker previously featured for Lille in the French league. He had an exceptional campaign with them in 2018/19, helping them finish as runners up in the league. Pepe scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists that year, and proceeded to become Arsenal’s record signing that year. 

Now, he is back in the league where he made a name for himself and could potentially regain his best form. 

Nice have signed Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer after he terminated his contract with Juventus, and have also signed Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City. Under Lucien Favre, the club has managed to earn two points in three games, but will be hoping to build on their successful run last year.

Bharti Airtel stocks on the rise after Singtel Deal

According to a filing with the market, Bharti Telecom and Singapore’s Singtel have agreed to buy a 3.33% share in Airtel for $1.6 billion (about Rs. 12,800 crores).

Bharti Telecom, headed by Sunil Mittal, is one of the companies that promote Bharti Airtel. Singtel is a shareholder in the promotional arm as well, though.

While the benchmark Nifty50 index rose 0.4% today (August 25), Airtel’s shares increased by over 1.2% in early trade. In Singapore, Singtel’s home market, shares increased by about 2% as well.

For more than 20 years, Singtel has owned a portion of Airtel.

To narrow its emphasis on its core activities, Singtel has decided to reduce some of its shareholdings in the second-largest telco in India. The company plans to invest the money from this sale in 5G and other home market expansion projects.

With Singtel owning the remaining 49.44% of Bharti Telecom, the Sunil Mittal family owns 50.56% of the company. Before the deal, this promoter arm owned a 35.85% interest in Bharti Airtel.

The Mittals owned a 24.13% interest in Bharti Airtel before the transaction, while Singtel retained a 31.72% share.

Following the transaction, Singtel’s ownership of Bharti Airtel would drop to 29.7%, valued at just under $15.8 billion (or around Rs. 1.26 lakh crore).

Serge Aurier to become Nottingham Forest’s 19th new signing of the summer

Serge Aurier is expected to become the 19th signing for Nottingham Forest this summer. The player was available as a free agent, after leaving Villarreal at the end of the season, and is now on his way back to the Premier League. 

The likes of Neco Williams and Harry Toffolo are already available, and the Ivorian will provide some well-needed experience at the back for Steve Cooper’s side. The player has completed his medical assessment for the move, and it seems only a matter of time before his arrival is made official by the club. 

Serge Aurier to join Nottingham Forest 

The right-back signed for Tottenham in 2017 from PSG, and had an initial impressive spell before losing his place to Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal. The defender eventually moved on to Villarreal, after his contract was terminated. 

But, injuries prevented him from extending his stay with the Spanish side, and he is now on his way back to England. Nottingham Forest have performed a total overhaul of their squad in an attempt to stay up in the Premier League, with 19 new players, once the arrival of Serge Aurier is confirmed. 

If Aurier joins the club within the next few hours, he could make his debut against his former club when the two play on Sunday.

Solid waste management is a major issue in India, and it has a negative influence on the environment. Every day, we produce about 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of solid trash. This comprises not just rubbish and municipal waste, but also E-waste, plastic waste, hazardous waste, and other types of waste. It is important to understand the various categories if we are to seriously address the increasing challenge of waste management.

Along with the other types, e-waste are increasing too and becoming a challenge to manage. Small electronic gadgets such as TWS, that need micro-level operations to repair are one of the key reasons. Replacing with a new unit is much easier than repairing in this case and what to do with the faulty one? It joins the e-waste dump and this cycle is going on. However, the majority of e-waste still comes from big appliances and gadgets. The list includes televisions, fridges, washing machines, fans, AC, laptops, smartphones, monitors, and so on.

We all know companies like Apple and Samsung are removing charging adapters from the boxes to protect the environment. Though some experts pointed out it’s nothing but a business strategy and not exactly what they are claiming. Side by side, it’s also true that they use recyclable components as much as possible. Now, coming to why these e-wastes are harmful to us.

Toxic metals such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, and chromium, to name a few, are present in these products. When e-waste is recycled or disposed of in an inefficient manner, such as by just dropping it in the trash, it becomes dangerous. When harmful substances are released into the environment, they can create serious health concerns. In the year 2019, it was recorded that 10,14,961.21 tonnes of E-waste was generated in India. E-waste is one of the fastest growing forms of waste with a growth rate of 10% each year.

Minimizing and treatment of E-waste are important. Aiming this, Cerebra Green has created India’s largest, most sophisticated end-to-end e-waste recycling facility. Cerebra Green through its collection centres is trying to ensure that all the e-waste collected is accounted for at every stage and is recycled properly. As a consumer, we can follow a few points to contribute to e-waste management –

  • Not to buy any unnecessary electronic gadget/product/component
  • Avoid throwing out, go for the exchange option wherever possible or hand it over to any e-waste management agency.
  • Repair and use the product again if possible
