Ming-Chi Kuo: the iPad mini isn’t going away yet, the foldable iPad will be costly

0

The iPhone didn’t incontinently kill off the iPod, the MP3 player was cheaper, so it hung around many times. Now that Apple is preparing to enter a new product order, galère, rumors are swirling that it’ll kill off a product from an old one – The Elec reported that Cupertino is planning to discontinue the iPad mini after its foldable tablet hits the request.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo disagrees with that assessment and the logic is simple – the galère iPad will have a “ markedly advanced price ” than the mini. The iPad mini( 2021) itself had to go up in price lately as the electronics request still hasn’t returned to normal.

Apple’s next iPad mini expected before mid-2024

Kuo adds that there’s a new iPad mini in development, one that will bring a brisk chipset. The 2021 model launched with the also-current Apple A15 Bionic. The new mini is anticipated to arrive in late 2023 or the first half of 2024 and by that time the A16 and A17 chipsets will be available( which one will be used in the slate presumably depends on yields and prices).

Apple is pondering moving iPad products to India as nearly all of its manufactories are in China and have been affected by each COVID surge. As for the galère, judges believe that Apple will start with an iPad- sized device as it would be easier to make( and less parlous) than an iPhone- sized device. Current plans reportedly target a 2024 launch. It might be huge as there are reports that Apple is working with Samsung and LG to develop foldable OLED displays as large as 20.25”.

The 240Hz OLED Gaming Display are soon coming to the market

0

CES 2023 is just a few days away, and there’s already one standout category that we’re very excited about: 240Hz OLED gaming monitors. In general, OLED panels can attain greater picture quality and faster response times than their LED or IPS counterparts, but have previously been unable to match them in terms of high-refresh rates. There have been occasional exceptions, such as the Alienware AW3423DW, a QD-OLED running at 175Hz, but OLED gaming displays have finally hit the ideal 240Hz refresh rate sought by gamers who specialise in eSports and FPS titles.

Several 240Hz OLED displays will be on display during the CES 2023 convention. The Corsair Xeneon Flex, a 45-inch OLED with configurable curvature and a $1,999 price tag, is one of the most inventive choices. You can switch between flat and 800R curved display modes by pressing the screen together, making it great for both work and play.

Meanwhile, LG will show off its 45-inch ultra-wide OLED and 27-inch OLED UltraGear monitors, which are already on preorder for $1,699 and $999, respectively. Both of the 240Hz monitors are 1440p with a reaction time of 0.03ms.

LG Display also stated that these OLED panels will be used in premium displays from other companies such as Corsair and Asus.

In terms of Asus, we know that a new 27-inch ROG OLED gaming monitor will be launched at CES 2023, however details are scarce. A teaser for the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM shared earlier this month on Twitter implies that it, too, will run at 240Hz and have a 1440p resolution, but there’s no information on pricing or a release date.

Dough will also use a glossy version of the aforementioned LG Display OLED panel in its own 27-inch Spectrum OLED monitor, which will operate at 240Hz and have a 1440p resolution, though we haven’t heard anything about it being shown at CES 2023. If you’re willing to take the risk, preorders begin at $649 and are anticipated to ship in July 2023.

Apple to soon launch its 11.1-inch and 13-inch OLED iPad Pro Models

0

We recently learned that Apple has scrapped plans to release a 14.1-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. In comparison, we now know that Apple is working on 11.1-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro devices with OLED displays for 2024.

Apple is developing 11.1-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro devices with OLED displays, according to Ross Young of MacRumors. The next iPad Pro models are scheduled to be released in 2024, and a few more alterations are possible. With the larger display sizes, we may expect thinner bezels and a shift in the tablet’s overall form factor.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumours of an iPad Pro with an OLED display. The 11.1-inch and 13-inch display sizes, on the other hand, are heard for the first time. Currently, the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a mini-LED display, while the 11-inch iPad Pro has a standard LCD display. Both models use Apple’s M2 processor, which improves CPU and GPU performance.

If Apple decides to use OLED panels in future iPad models, the display quality difference between the two devices will be closed.

In addition to the OLED display, Apple will replace the iPad Pro models with new CPUs for improved performance and battery life. Since Apple updated the iPad Pro models in October of this year, we anticipate that no new versions will be released until 2024. We haven’t heard anything yet about an 11-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. This suggests that the smaller model will go directly from LCD to OLED technology.

We’ve also heard that Apple is developing OLED displays for future iPad and MacBook models, which are expected to debut in 2024. As previously stated, Young believes that Apple’s intention to release a 14.1-inch iPad Pro in 2023 is no longer feasible.

EBFC took the lead thanks to a Silva penalty in the 39th of the game. The thing came against the run of play thanks to some good work from Suhair VP on the right hand. Suhair’s mazy run forced Naorem Mahesh Singh into a mistimed sliding attack, and the ball rolled onto his arms. The referee refocused to the spot. Silva took a stuttering run-up but calmly slotted his penalty home, putting East Bengal FC 1- 0 up against his former club for the alternate time this season.

Bengaluru FC looked hanging from set-pieces in the first half, with headed chances falling to Sunil Chhetri, Parag Shrivas, and Pablo Perez. Roy Krishna was also troubled in open play but couldn’t find the finishing touch, as the first half ended with East Bengal FC taking a 1- 0 lead.

But Bengaluru FC’s continuity was awarded in the 55th of the match. formerly again, Roy Krishna was in the thick of effects. He went on a run on the right hand before cutting it back to Javi Herandez, who smashed the ball into the net.

Alex Lima and Noarem Mahesh Singh of EB looked like they could open effects up whenever they got on the ball in the first half but weren’t suitable to affect the game as frequently in the alternate. But both sides had chances to take the lead. Chhetri was through on thing in the 73rd but couldn’t sort his bases out, whereas EB’s Silva got his bases sorted in the 83rd but had his shot go wide.

The Witcher: Blood Origin: Geralt and Ciri share another connection that may bring a turn in the story

Netflix’s one of the most-awaited shows ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin‘ takes us 1200 years ahead of the main Witcher series, there had some limitations to the unexpected tethers that got the recent timeline. After the involvement of Jaskier, some big secret has been exposed in the prototype of Witcher’s tale that exposes an unexpected connection between Geralt and Ciri. The relationship between Eile and Fjall helps to uncover it.

Witcher

We are now going to dive deep into the final episode as we have learned that Eile become pregnant, and the father of the child is Fjall has concluded with pain to be a prototype Witcher that might lead to the trial of the Grasses and subsequently Witcher’s as Geralt down to the line. Eile and Fjall had intimated after that process, permeating their kid having both sets of genes.

Now, Ithlinne predicts, Eile’s stomach is leading to Ciri and the Elder blood that she holds. The thing is this is also connected with the title of the show, Blood Origin, thus the interest goes on as Ciri and Geralt both become descendants of a boy of the same bloodline. It’s true that this is not directly indicating that both of them are relatives, but it indicates they belong to the same monster DNA having the same genes.

w2 The Witcher: Blood Origin: Geralt and Ciri share another connection that may bring a turn in the story

However, the trial of the Grasses will continue to change and irritate over time, and in further versions, those who have undertaken the entire process have been sterile moving forward. It is not the case with Fjall, and the process effects are not what they might ultimately become.

One thing is really very interesting as this is following The Witcher season like the entire scenario is unknown by either Geralt or Ciri while left off in the second season. It will be a key point, to an interesting segment to explore for the fans, we have to wait to see.

The story is “Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – the origin of the very first Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.”

You can see The Witcher: Blood Origin only on Netflix.

TSMC finally begins the production of its 3nm process node chips

0

Taiwanese tech company TSMC announced Thursday that it had begun mass manufacturing of its 3-nanometer chips, which are among the most advanced to hit the market. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has the world’s largest silicon wafer plants and manufactures high-performance chips used in everything from cellphones to automobiles to missiles. It also serves as Apple’s primary chip supplier.

Its 3nm-process chips are projected to have better computing capability while consuming less power, hence improving battery performance.

“Our 3nm technology will be used massively in future state-of-the-art technological products, including super computers, cloud servers, high speed internet and many many mobile devices,” chairman Mark Liu said at a ceremony announcing mass production at a plant in the southwestern city of Tainan.

He went on to say that the company intends to establish even smaller 2nm factories in Taiwan’s cities of Hsinchu and Taichung. In June, TSMC’s South Korean rival Samsung launched mass manufacturing of its 3nm processors. Taiwan is a major player in the worldwide chip industry.

TSMC alone accounts for over half of the world’s manufacture of semiconductors smaller than 10nm.

TSMC
credit: economictimes

The concentration of such a vital industry in one location has sparked geopolitical anxiety, particularly as China increasingly threatens Taiwan, a self-ruled democracy that the Chinese Communist Party claims and has pledged to conquer one day.

The global chip scarcity that occurred during the coronavirus outbreak heightened those fears. Western governments have urged TSMC to establish more foundries overseas, which it has agreed to do.

The business is building a massive $40 billion plant in Arizona to eventually create its own 4nm and 3nm chips, as part of the United States’ efforts to secure a consistent supply of semiconductors on its territory.

Earlier this month, President Joe Biden attended a ceremony to announce a massive expansion of the Arizona facility, which is one of the largest foreign investments in the United States. TSMC has also agreed to establish foundries in Japan and is looking into locations in Germany.

At the same time, Taiwan’s IT companies and government are determined to keep the majority of cutting-edge production in the country, partly because the industry provides some protection to the island.

Any invasion or blockade of Taiwan by China would be disastrous for the world economy because so many critical semiconductors are manufactured there – a buffer known as Taiwan’s “Silicon Shield” by analysts.

President Tsai Ing-wen has downplayed fears that Taiwan risks losing that shield – and employment – by building foundries abroad, instead portraying the investments as proof of the island’s technological superiority.

Desktop GPU sales are extremely low and are still declining

0

During the epidemic, demand for graphics cards grew considerably as some people spent more time at home playing games, while others attempted to mine Ethereum for money. However, it appears that now that the world has reopened and Ethereum mining on GPUs is no longer viable, demand for desktop discrete GPUs has plummeted considerably. According to Jon Peddie Research, shipments of discrete graphics cards reached a 20-year low in Q3 2022.

In the third quarter, the industry sold around 6.9 million standalone graphics boards for desktop PCs — including the greatest graphics cards for gaming — and a comparable number of discrete GPUs for notebooks. According to JPR data, AMD, Intel, and Nvidia supplied approximately 14 million standalone graphics chips for desktops and laptops, a 42% decrease year over year.

GPU

Integrated GPU shipments totalled roughly 61.5 million units in Q3 2022.

In fact, 6.9 million desktop discrete add-in-boards (AIBs) shipped is the lowest number of graphics cards shipped since at least Q3 2005, and, given that sales of standalone AIBs were strong in the early 2000s because integrated GPUs were not good enough at the time, it is safe to say that shipments of desktop graphics boards will hit at least a 20-year low in Q3 2022.

GPU

Despite weakening demand for discrete graphics cards for desktops (unit sales were down 31.9% year on year), Nvidia not only maintained its advantage, but strengthened it with an 86% market share, its best ever, according to JPR. In comparison, AMD’s market share fell to roughly 10%, its lowest in several decades.

GPU

Intel, on the other hand, managed to capture 4% of the desktop discrete GPU market in just one quarter, which is rather impressive. Of course, the majority of AIB parts supplied by Intel in Q3 2023 were entry-level versions, but these were in high demand due to brand awareness and other factors.

GPU

However, there is a caveat when comparing desktop AIB sales to the early 2000s. Shipments of discrete laptop GPUs were lower in the early 2000s than they are today since there were fewer notebooks sold. As a result, it is feasible that in typical quarters, sales of standalone GPUs for desktops and notebooks would be similar to what we witnessed 15 – 17 years ago. Furthermore, as GPUs have become much more expensive, AMD and Nvidia have thrived in recent years.

GPU

It was already reported in November that sales of integrated and standalone GPUs fell in the third quarter as enthusiasts awaited Nvidia and AMD’s GeForce RTX 40-series and Radeon RX 7000-series discrete graphics boards, while PC makers were attempting to deplete stocks of their CPUs with built-in graphics. Nonetheless, although the overall market fell by roughly 25.1% year on year, the market for discrete GPUs fell by 42% year on year.
