The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 built by TSMC has so far outscored even Apple’s top chip in real-world gaming tests. Its immediate successor, the rumoured Gen 2 Plus, will only marginally outperform it in terms of clock speeds. On the other hand, the A17 Bionic could be completely destroyed by the 2024 flagship gadget, the Gen 3, at least in multi-core performance.

The Gen 3 is rumoured to be capable of multi-core and single-core Geekbench scores of up to 6,500 and 1,800 respectively. The score of the former places it between the Apple M1 and the A16 Bionic, while the latter is just a few points behind the A16 Bionic’s highest score of 1,847. In terms of multi-core and single-core performance, it provides improvements over the Gen 2 of about 24% and 20%, respectively.

But according to one rumour, Samsung’s 3GAA node may be used to manufacture various devices.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which is scheduled for release in 2025, is expected to include a 6+2 configuration with Phoenix M and L Nuvia cores. Additionally, it will be the very first Qualcomm chip to be produced using the N3E process from TSMC. When the 12-core laptop chip for the Nuvia will be released in 2024, everyone would have a picture of how Nuvia perform in the real world.

While Apple has already launched its iPhone 14 series this year, we are hearing about the upcoming iPhone 15 series which is scheduled to go into early trial production according to Economic Daily News. With its partner Foxconn, Apple has already started machine trial production” ahead of the fomral launch later this year.

The iPhone 14 series received mixed feedback from everyone because they did discriminate the 14 series and the 14 Pro series, introducing Dynamic Island to the later. Intentionally, made the iPhone 14 Pro series a better buy, however, in 2023, the iPhone 15 series is regarded to have dynamic island all across the range.

Why iPhone 15 enters Early Trial Production in January 2023?

So, Apple has to do it right this time and to do so, the Cupertino giant seems to planning very early this time, its dear partner Foxconn has already received instructions to begin “new machine trial production” for the ‌iPhone 15‌ and also begin begin new product introduction (NPI) for the device.

Apple reportedly considering cutting prices for its upcoming iPhone 15

Obviously, implementing new features all across the board requires proper testing and it makes sense for Foxconn to begin early trial production.

It is worth noting that the NPI of the new iPhone this year is a little different from previous years, mainly because the gap between the mass production time of iPhones in mainland China and India will narrow. In previous years, the mass production time of the two places was about six to nine months apart. Last year, it was shortened to two months, and this year it will be shortened to a few weeks.

Also, one factor which the report also states that this time iPhone 15 series will be made in both India and China, which is expected but the relative difference seems to have been decreased. Earlier the span was about two months but this time it is expected to be only few weeks and its expected to decrease even further because Apple is targeting India heavily.

The PLI scheme, which both Foxconn and Apple will like to benefit alongside the dependence of China, India has now emerged a brighter options for the long-term future. In terms of lineup, the new iPhone 15 series will have the same lineup as the iPhone 14 series with normal iPhone 15 at the heart, iPhone 15 Plus and both iPhone 15 Pro & Ultra.

Users and fans could expect lot of iPhone 14 Pro features coming to newer iPhone 15s, so, Indian fans can again be excited as Apple also looks to open its first-ever retail store pretty soon: Know more details.

The Economic Times reported last year that Apple planned to open its first store between January and March 2023, with a flagship 22,000-square-foot Mumbai store set to open first. The company has not confirmed its plans to open stores in India, but the publication’s report was based on information obtained from sources. The store was scheduled to debut in 2021, but according to reports, the global health crisis and economic unpredictability caused the company to push back the launch date.

Besiktas remain firm on Wout Weghorst transfer situation: No recall clause in spite of Man Utd interest

Manchester United‘s pursuit of Wout Weghorst is becoming more and more complicated. The striker is currently on loan at Besiktas from Burnley and there is no option to recall him from the loan deal, as has been rumoured.

This has been confirmed by the Turkish club in an official statement:

“The claim that there is an exit clause in our football player’s contract, stating that his contract can be terminated with a compensation of €2.5 million in case of an offer from the Premier League, is fictitious.

“However, the news that the player in question will leave the team on Tuesday is completely untrue. The initiative regarding Wout Weghorst belongs entirely to Besiktas.”

Wout Weghorst transfer update: No recall clause

Erik Ten Hag wants to sign the Netherlands international, while the player is also keen on the move. In his previous match with Besiktas, he appeared to have said his goodbyes to the fans. But, there has been no breakthrough in negotiations between the two sides as of yet.

Both United and Wout Weghorst are trying to find a solution to their situation. They remain confident of coming to an agreement by the end of the month to sanction the transfer. It is expected to be a loan deal so far, with the option to make the move permanent.

The 6ft 6in striker will be able to provide a very strong physical presence at the front of the line. And he is expected to be the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose departure has left the team short staffed in the centre-forward role. He has scored eight times for Besiktas in 16 games this season.

For now, Besiktas hold all the cards when it comes to the transfer of the Dutchman. And any deal for him will have to involve the Turkish side giving their consent to the player’s departure.

Roberto Martinez named new Portugal head coach

0

Roberto Martinez has been named the new head coach of the Portugal national team. The 49-year-old was discharged from his duties from the Belgian national team after the 2022 World Cup. And now, he has taken up a new challenge in the form of the golden generation of Portugal.

The likes of Goncalo Ramos, Rafael Leao, Joao Felix, Ruben Dias and Diogo Costa are all expected to play a big part in their future. And Martinez will have huge expectations to deliver with yet another talented group of players at his disposal.

Roberto Martinez announced as new Portugal head coach

After being eliminated by Morocco in the quarter finals of the 2022 World Cup – Fernando Santos was sacked as the head coach of the national team. During his eight-year spell in charge of the national team, Santos won the 2016 Euros.

Portugal are currently ranked ninth in the FIFA World rankings. The 2024 Euros will be the next major tournament that we will see them compete at. And it will be interesting to see how things play out under a new manager in charge of the lineup.

“We’re going to start a footballing process to try to get to know all the players that could join this national team,” Roberto Martinez said. “We’re going to give all the players an opportunity and respect everyone who’s already in the national team.”

“Cristiano is one of them. being able to have them by my side. It’s a process that we have to face naturally, with responsibility, and we’re going to make important decisions for the team.”

“Cristiano is part of that list, he spent 19 years with the national team and deserves respect, let’s talk,” he added. “From there, it’s up to me to make the best list for the European Championship. Tomorrow we’ll start working, getting to know all the players, and Cristiano is one of them.”

Joao Felix to Chelsea: Verbal agreement for €11 million loan deal

0

Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Atletico Madrid for the signing of Joao Felix. The forward is expected to make the move to England on a loan deal with no option to buy.

The board wanted Felix to leave the club during the January transfer window, especially after their Champions League exit. And in spite of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, the West London club have surged ahead in negotiations to sign him.

Joao Felix expected to join Chelsea soon

The Portugal international has accepted the offer in principle, and is convinced by the long-term project of Chelsea. It should be noted that nothing has been signed as of yet, and final negotiations still need to be carried out for the two parties to sanction the transfer.

Chelsea will be without Armando Broja for the remainder of the season, and need a striker that can solve their goalscoring issues upfront. With the arrival of Joao Felix, fans will be hopeful that things can change during the latter half of the season.

Things have not been going in the favour of Graham Potter’s side at all. They are currently 10th in the table, and have found goals extremely hard to come by. Kai Havertz hasn’t been able to provide much consistency in a centre-forward role either. And so, Felix could be the missing piece of the puzzle for the team if he can find the back of the net in games.

Chelsea have already completed the signings of Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana during the January transfer window. They have also agreed a deal for Christopher Nkunku. And potentially, Joao Felix could join that list.

The Blues have lost all hopes of winning silverware this season, and will need to dig deep to somehow finish in the Champions League spots by the summer.

BREAKING: Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale retires from professional football

Gareth Bale wrote on Twitter: “After careful and thoughtful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international football.”

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have realised my dream of playing the sport I love. It has truly given me some of the best moments of my life. The highest of highs over 17 seasons, that will be impossible to replicate, no matter what the next chapter has in store for me.”

From my very first touch at Southampton to my last with LAFC and everything in between, shaped a club career that I have an immense pride and gratitude for. Playing for and captaining my country 111 times has truly been a dream come true.”

“To show my gratitude to all of those that have played their part along this journey, feels like an impossibility. I feel indebted to many people for helping to change my life and shape my career in a way I couldn’t have ever dreamed of when I first started out at 9 years old.”

“To my previous clubs, Southampton, Tottenham, Real Madrid and finally LAFC. All of my previous managers and coaches, back room staff, team mates, all the dedicated fans, my agents, my amazing friends and family, the impact you have had is immeasurable.”

“My parents and my sister, without your dedication in those early days, without such a strong foundation, I wouldn’t be writing this statement right now, so thank you for putting me on this path and for your unwavering support.”

My wife and my children, your love and support has carried me through. Right beside me for all the highs and lows, keeping me grounded along the way. You inspire me to be better, and to make you proud.”

“So, I move on with anticipation to the next stage of my life. A time of change and transition, an opportunity for a new adventure…”

Gareth Bale further tweeted for his Welsh family, which read: “To my Welsh family,
My decision to retire from International football has been, by far the hardest of my career.”

“How do I describe what being a part of this country and team means to me? How do I articulate the impact it has had on my life? How do I put in to words the way I felt, every single time I put on that Welsh shirt? My answer is that I couldn’t possibly do any of those things justice, simply with words. But I know that every person involved in Welsh football, feels the magic, and is impacted in such a powerful and unique way, so I know you feel what I feel, without using any words at all.”

“My journey on the international stage is one that has changed not only my life but who I am. The fortune of being Welsh and being selected to play for and captain Wales, has given me something incomparable to anything else I’ve experienced. I am honoured and humbled to have been able to play a part in the history of this incredible country, to have felt the support and passion of the red wall, and together have been to unexpected and amazing places.”

“I shared a dressing room with boys that became brothers, and back room staff that became family, I played for the most incredible managers, and felt the undying support and love from the most dedicated fans in the world. Thank you to every one of you for being on this journey with me.”

“So for now I am stepping back, but not away from the team that lives in me and runs through my veins. After all, the dragon on my shirt is all I need.
Together stronger
Diolch”

Zinedine Zidane – Noel le Graet controversy: Everything you need to know as FFF president apologises to Zidane

0

Zinedine Zidane has managed just one club in his coaching career and that is his former club Real Madrid. He already has phenomenal records as a manager including winning a hat trick of UCL trophies. The Frenchman is regarded as one of the elite managers currently. After his two stints with Real Madrid, he didn’t accept any offer and was reportedly waiting for the France men’s national team head coach’s job.

The current manager of the France national team, Didier Deschamps was expected to leave the job after the World Cup 2022 and Zidane was deemed to be the successor. However, Didier Deschamps has now renewed his contract with France for the next 4 years, ie, till World Cup 2026.

Noel le Graet’s comment on Zinedine Zidane

FFF president Noel le Graet said on whether Zidane called him about the France head coach’s job, via BBC: “I wouldn’t even have taken his call. To tell him what? ‘Hello sir. Don’t worry. Look for another club. I just agreed a contract with Didier.'”

“It’s up to him what he does. It’s not my business. I’ve never met him and we’ve never considered parting with Didier.”

“He can go where he wants, to a club. He would have as many as he wants in Europe, a big club. But a national side is hardly credible, to my mind.”

This comment by Noel le Graet on Zidane created a huge controversy as everybody came to the defence of the 1998 World Cup-winning Frenchman. France’s current superstar Kylian Mbappe also supported Zidane. He wrote on Twitter: “Zidane is France, we don’t disrespect the legend like that…”

Real Madrid’s statement on this matter

Zidane’s former club Real Madrid also came to his defence and demanded an apology from Noel le Graet. The Spanish club also highlighted his disrespect for their club captain Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid wrote in the official statement: “Real Madrid C. F. laments the unfortunate comments made by the president of the French Football Federation, Nöel Le Graët, regarding Zinedine Zidane, one of the world’s biggest sporting legends.”

“These remarks show a lack of respect for one of the most admired figures by football fans around the world and our club is awaiting an immediate correction. Zinedine Zidane, World and European champion representing his country, amongst many other honours, he embodies the values of the sport and has proven this throughout his professional career as a player and as a coach.”

“The statements by the president of the French Football Federation are inappropriate for someone holding such representation and are in themselves unsuitable, like those he also made about our captain Karim Benzema, current Ballon d’Or, Nations League champion with France in 2021 and winner of 5 Champions Leagues, amongst many other honours.”

Noel le Graet’s apology to Zinedine Zidane

Amelie Oudea-Castera, France’s Sports Minister, also demanded an apology from Le Graet for “a shameful lack of respect” towards one of France finest Zinedine Zidane

Noel le Graet has now issued an apology, which read, via BBC: “I would like to apologise for these remarks, which absolutely do not reflect my views nor my consideration for the player he was and the coach he has become.”

“I gave an interview to [French radio station] RMC that I should not have given because they were looking for controversy by opposing Didier and Zinedine Zidane, two greats of French football.”

“I admit that I made some clumsy remarks which created a misunderstanding.”
