BCCI brings out a new application for the Selection Committee, former cricketer Ajit Agarkar to apply for the National selector’s role

0

India’s former pacer Ajit Agarkar is set to apply for BCCI’s National Selectors’ role after India had a pathetic performance in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2022. Agarkar couldn’t become the chairman of the selection committee earlier but he’ll be applying for the role again. In IPL he’s the assistant coach of the Delhi Capitals.

“We haven’t spoken to Ajit about it today. It’s absolutely his choice whether he would leave his IPL role and apply for the selectors job. But obviously, he was very close last time and we would be happy to have him. He is someone young with a lot of experience in playing all three formats besides IPL. His inputs and experiences would be invaluable. He has also worked with young players and he understands in and out of the domestic structure,” a senior BCCI official said

Eligibility for the national selectors

  • The candidate should have played 7 Test matches / 30 First Class matches /10 ODI and 20 First Class matches.
  • He should be retired for a minimum of 5 years.
  • He should not be a member of any cricket committee as per rules of BCCI for 5 years can apply for this role.

In his career, he has played a total of 26 Test matches scalping 58 wickets. IN ODIs, he played 191 games picking 288 wickets. He played a handful of T20I games (4) getting 3 wickets. He played 62 T20s where he picked 47 wickets. He was featured in 110 First Class matches and scalped 299 wickets and 270 List A games where he bagged 420 wickets.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India invited fresh applications for the selection committee, November 28 being the deadline.

Ajit Agarkar”s application will be considered from the West Zone. Abbey Kuruvilla’s career was short-lived as it ended immediately after T20 WC 2021.

From the East Zone, Shiv Sundar Das and Sanjay Raut as well as West Bengal’s Ranadeb Bose and Deep Dasgupta are good fits.

From the Southern part of the country, there are many eligible candidates, however, it’s unclear if anyone would apply from Kerala, Hyderabad or Tamil Nadu. Recently, Sunil Joshi served on the selection committee so it’s unlikely that another player from Karnataka will be getting into the committee again.

Recently, the board fired the entire Selection committee after India’s disastrous performance in T20 World Cup’s finale.

Qualcomm launches its new Snapdragon AR2 Gen 2 Chip for AR Headsets

0

Snapdragon has formally launched the AR2 Gen 1, the company’s specific chip for augmented reality, in response to future possibilities and competition from companies like Meta. AR2 Gen 1 is intriguing since it has a tonne of features and better performance than the reference design.

The company’s specific solution for AR headsets, Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1, sets a standard. The brand-new platform was created from the ground up with an entirely new emphasis on augmented reality. The AR2 Gen 1 is the first model of a new line of stylish, highly functional glasses that the business plans to release. This should contribute to the delicate blending of components from the metaverse and the real world. AR2 Gen 1 focuses on assisting companies in developing high-end AR headsets, and as a result, provides performance appropriate for that while keeping things portable.

Snapdragon has developed a multi-chip distributed processing system with specialised IP Blocks to specifically build the AR2 Gen 1 for AR. This was done to strike a balance between functionality, strength, and size. As a result, portability and energy usage have received considerable attention.

As a result, the AR Gen 2 is a multi-chip system that consists of an AR processor, a co-processor, and a networking platform. These chips handle the processing load for the AR glasses when they operate in tandem. It has been made clear by Snapdragon, though, that the AR2 Gen 1 won’t be a stand-alone solution. The host device for the AR glasses must be a smartphone or SD laptop that supports the Snapdragon processor in order to conduct additional sophisticated tasks.

Snapdragon has meticulously positioned the modules on various sections of the glasses, taking the multi-chip approach literally. The arm of the glasses will house the primary AR processor, which will handle perception and display output. At the bridge will be the co-processor in charge of the sensors, AI, and computer vision. The connectivity module will also be mounted to the arms in the meantime.

That is also reflected in the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 chip, which uses 50% less power and has a 40% lower PCB surface area than the AR Smart Viewer Reference design with XR 2.

Additionally, the density of the wires has been lowered by 45%, making the latest AR glasses smaller overall. It converts to augmented reality glasses that only require 1W of electricity.

The Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 powered glasses are not yet available for purchase, but the company has teamed with a number of OEMs to develop their own AR2 Gen 1 powered experiences.

Companies like Lenovo, LG, nreal, OPPO, Mi, TCL, and many more fall under this category. AR experiences must be in development and will either be consumer- or business-based depending on the OEM. If any Snapdragon AR 1 Gen 2-powered experiences appear soon, only time will tell.

Technological developments like the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 are a step in the right direction as the field of immersive technology develops further. The chip is well-positioned to enable AR experiences that may become the standard thanks to its strong performance and power combination. The AR2 Gen 1 should also contribute to the development of AR glasses that are finally thin and don’t feel cumbersome.

Spain and Germany are the two favourites to make it through to the last 16 from this group. However, it is anybody’s guess as to who takes top spot from Group E considering that Japan are there too.

Most Twitter Employees are not ready to be the part of Company under Elon Musk

0

According to The Verge, hundreds of Twitter employees chose to leave the firm rather than sign up for “Twitter 2.0” under Elon Musk. Earlier this week, Musk addressed the workforce, saying that moving forward, Twitter will be “very hardcore,” with employees expected to put in long hours at high intensity. Only exceptionally well-performing work will result in a passing mark, he declared.

Employees were requested to fill out a Google form on Wednesday by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time if they wished to continue working for the company. Numerous people made the decision not to and said their goodbyes on Twitter and Slack. A severance package will be given to departing staff.

About half of the 7,500 people at Twitter were fired when Musk took over the company, and he has since continued to fire workers who have been critical of him, including longtime engineers.

According to Twitter employees who spoke with The Verge, given the number of people who have left, Twitter could “start cracking soon” and recovering from this situation will be “very difficult for Twitter.”

Twitter briefly shut down all office buildings and suspended badge access due to the employee exodus. Zo Schiffer claims that Musk and his staff are “terrified employees are going to sabotage the company.”

Musk reportedly made an effort to persuade workers to stay in the final hours before the deadline. According to Bloomberg, important employees were invited to meetings, and Musk also backed down on his expectations for in-office work. Earlier, he had stated that all workers must spend 40 hours per week in the office, but today, he stated that remote work was permitted with monthly in-person meetings and managerial consent.

Musk’s initial project is currently on hold as Twitter undergoes modifications. A verification badge was included in the $8 version of Twitter Blue that was published last week, and it turned out that the widespread use of verification led to account impersonation that had an impact on many businesses.

Juventus to make Moise Kean transfer permanent in 2023

0

Juventus are planning to make the transfer of Moise Kean from Everton a permanent one. The striker has scored four goals in 13 Serie A games, and is expected to be a part of their project for the future.

As a result, the Bianconeri are considering a permanent deal for him in 2023. The player’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta also hinted at the switch, saying: “Moise is doing very well now and he’ll be an important player for Juventus for many years.”

Juventus are planning to make Moise Kean transfer permanent

The Italian forward has had his ups and downs, but is only 22 years old. As a result, there is still time for him to develop into a more complete attacking player. Moise Kean is currently competing with Dusan Vlahovic and Arek Milik for game time.

The Bianconeri are currently playing with two strikers, which justifies the presence of all three strikers. But, a change in system could complicate matters, especially if there is only one number 9.

Juventus started off the season in a very disappointing manner, and have been eliminated from the Champions League. However, they have gotten their domestic season back on track with a run of good results prior to the international break.

At the time of writing, the showrunner Simon Barry is searching for future seasons and valiant fan campaign efforts set to drive viewership that’s yet to be renewed.

The disappointing thing is, the early performance of the show isn’t like good and demanding externally that’s already faltering. You could argue it was released amongst a busy slate with marketing not the best with the numbers that are not vetted great.

As Netflix is going for multiple metrics when it comes to the renewal of the shows for the maximum part, viewership is the lead. Netflix is set to look at cost vs viewership and the number of starters against the number of completions.

Warrior

“Of course, when you end a season as a writer, you always want to make sure that you’ve not written yourself into a corner. And yes, we did have a notion about what season 3 could be and how that would look. But of course, it’s up to the fans. If they show up in big numbers. Netflix will make the right decision. And so hopefully, that’s what will happen.”

There is another interview suggesting Barry is hopeful for having five seasons while all is said and done.

Warrior Nun: Performance on Netflix

According to some the comparison the fair, but in the end, both are sci-fi fantasy YA unveils with a big budget and heavy on VFX. Both debuted their first seasons in a similar time frame as each other and both had to wait for long periods just before coming after the pandemic. Fate, as you may know, it got canceled by Netflix.

FlixPatrol looks at the raw daily top 10s more than hours, giving a better story suggesting that the series has yet to peak. The heatmap just suggests the show is performing best in European countries containing Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, and Nordic regions.

Warrior Nun (Season 3): Performance

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 ‘Storm Peak’ CPUs Spotted

0

The Einstein @ Home database has two next-generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 “Storm Peak” CPUs with up to 96 cores and 192 threads. We are all aware that AMD is developing the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series of processors, which will be the company’s next-generation Threadripper family.

The ‘Storm Peak’ family of CPUs will come with up to 96 cores and 192 threads. We discovered a 64-core and 128-thread part leak in the same database back in September, and now we are looking at an even more advanced processor.

The OPN codes “100-000000884-21 N” and “100-000000884-20 Y” are found on AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 CPUs. The core configuration on both processors is identical, with 96 cores, 192 threads, and 480 MB of total cache (384 MB L3 + 96 MB L2). These chips were tested on a motherboard with 128 GB DDR5 RAM and a Radeon PRO W6400 GPU, which more or less verifies their workstation nature. They will make use of the 12 CCD Zen 4 die.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Desktop CPUs will be manufactured on TSMC’s 5nm node and include up to 96 cores and 192 threads based on the Zen 4 core architecture.

AMD
credit: wccftech

The new CPUs, which will replace the current “Chagall” family, are exclusively intended for high-end and power-hungry workstation users. They probably use the same die, but with some sections deactivated for typical customers, since the core count is the same as the EPYC Genoa parts.

AMD
credit: wccftech

The Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series, which will be powered by AMD’s next-generation Zen 4 cores and is scheduled to launch in 2023, was confirmed by AMD in their desktop roadmap. There is no information on what platform will support these chips, but it is certain that it won’t be the SP3 or the current TR40 or WRX80 series because the new chips are significantly larger and need a larger socket.
