Will Cristiano Ronaldo get a 2022 Carabao Cup winner’s medal?

Since Cristiano Ronaldo was technically part of Manchester United’s squad at the start of the season, should he be receiving an EFL Cup winner’s medal? 

Well, the final decision is up to the club. The striker did not participate in any of the club’s six matches as they won their first trophy in six years. However, there is a chance that he could be sent a winner’s medal if Manchester United decide so.

According to rule 20.2 of the EFL, here is the situation: 

“In addition to the Cup, the Management Committee shall present thirty souvenirs to the winning Club in the Final Tie; and thirty souvenirs to the losing Club in the Final Tie.

“Additional souvenirs may be presented with the consent of the Management Committee but shall be at the cost of the requesting Club.” 

During the competition, Manchester United were represented by 27 players, excluding Cristiano Ronaldo. And all the other players have received their medals. By doing the maths, the Red Devils still have three medals extra that they can give out. 

However, Ronaldo left the club by mutual agreement prior to the 2022 World Cup in heated fashion. He has since signed for Al Nassr and is earning a massive £173 million wage with the Saudi Arabian club.

Ivan Toney to serve ban for 262 FA betting breaches

Ivan Toney has accepted the charges against betting that have been placed on him. However, there are some of the 262 charges placed on him that he is contesting, as things stand. 

The Brentford striker is expected to serve a long ban which could start before the end of the season. An FA hearing is expected to take place very soon, which will determine the length of the ban that could be placed on him.

The FA charged Toney with breaching 232 rules between 2017 and 2021 in November. And in December, he was charged with an extra 30 breaches between 2017 and 2019. 

Ivan Toney has played for several clubs during this time period alongside Brentford, including Scunthorpe, Wigan and Peterborough. However, there is no history of him betting against any of his own teams. 

A suspension or ban is the most likely outcome for the charges that have been placed against the 26-year-old. Historically, players involved in betting have had to serve considerable amounts of time out of the sport. Joey Barton of Burnley served an 18-month ban in 2017 for placing 1260 bets between 2006 and 2013. However, it was later reduced to 13 months after an appeal. 

Toney has been in very good form this season, scoring 15 goals for Brentford. He was expected to receive a call-up from Gareth Southgate for the England national team later on. But if he is suspended, he could miss their European Championship qualifiers. Moreover, his club future could also be affected considering his betting activity.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold will cost Rs 89,999 (US$1,088) for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model and Rs 99,999 (US$1,209) for the 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage model. During an early bird sale, which will be announced later, customers will be able to purchase the Phantom V’s base model for Rs 79,999 ($968).

The Tecno Phantom V Fold will be available in black and white.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold is a foldable left-right device with a 6.42-inch AMOLED LPTO display and a punch-hole design on the front. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a 7.85-inch foldable AMOLED LTPO screen with a punch hole on the inside. It has a resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device includes a fingerprint sensor on the side.

The cover display has a 32-megapixel camera, while the inner screen has a 16-megapixel camera. A 50-megapixel primary camera is housed in the round-shaped camera module on the back. It comes with a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a dual-LED flash.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold is piloted by the Dimensity 9000 Plus. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The device comes with 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage and up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The foldable phone comes with the Android 13 operating system, which is overlaid with Tecno’s HiOS UI.

Tesla Investors Day: Elon Musk plans to reveal Master Plan 3

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, tweeted about holding the company’s first Investor Day event. On March 1st, the event will take place at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. Musk has said  in his tweet the event is for “people and life of earth,” adding that “it will be a message of good hope & positivity for the future.”

Musk previously blogged about Master Plan 1 and Master Plan 2, and he is set to reveal “Master Plan 3” at the Investor Day Event. Musk stated in a tweet that Master Plan 3 is focused on sustainable energy. “Master Plan 3, the path to a fully sustainable energy future for Earth will be presented on March 1. The future is bright!” Musk tweeted.

The tweet appears to allude to Tesla’s efforts to promote renewable energy, with a focus on solar power.

Tesla recently tweeted a GIF with the caption “Tesla ecosystem: energy generation, energy storage, and electric vehicles.” The GIF showed a Tesla car plugged into a house with a solar panel, implying Tesla’s push into the energy business. Solar power, on the other hand, is not a new addition; it was also included in the Master Plan Deux. Previously, the EV manufacturer acquired SolarCity.

A report by The Verge suggests that Tesla’s solar roof installations have been slow going, and revenue from the company’s home energy business remains around 5 percent.

According to The Verge, Musk predicted in a recent earnings call that a fleet of self-driving ‘robo-taxis’ will be mass-produced by the beginning of 2024. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also stated that the company has “made significant progress” on the autonomous taxi.

Previously, Musk predicted at the company’s first AI Day in 2019 that a “million” Tesla robot axis would be on the road by 2020. Musk has stated that Tesla will eventually have a $25,000 electric car, but he has not specified a date for its release. According to The Verge, analysts have questioned that figure, claiming that supply chain conditions have changed since Musk made the prediction.

Musk has previously stated Tesla’s goal of producing two cars for the price of one Model 3. Tesla, on the other hand, does not intend to sell the electric vehicle for half the price of the Model 3. The sole goal is to make the manufacturing process more efficient and cost-effective. Musk unveiled the Cybertruck on November 21, 2019, and production models have recently been spotted in Fremont.

Yes, you heard that right, Elon Musk’s Twitter has gone down again!

This time around, strangely, not that entire Twitter is down but the home page isn’t showing anything on the feed, however, you are able to tweet. Strangely, you can even see trending tweets on the right-hand side but you cannot see the home page again you can load someone’s else profile easily.

Very weird though, however, be it any platform, whenever you open Twitter you will see:

The concept of AI image generation using text prompts has been getting popular for quite some time now. Although there have been several tools that do it, Stable Diffusion is the one that most people prefer.

Now, Qualcomm has decided to demonstrate the ability of its chipset for AI image generation in a matter of seconds, and if all goes well, you can expect it to appear on Android phones in the future.

Qualcomm used Stable Diffusion to create a 512×512 pixel image of a cat wearing armour. This was accomplished by running Stable Diffusion 1.5 on a smartphone without internet connectivity using the Qualcomm AI stack.

The interesting thing to note here is that without any internet, what the phone was performing was AI Image generation.

The AI Image generation performed by the smartphone used the following prompt, “Super cute fluffy cat warrior in armour, photorealistic, 4K, ultra-detailed, Vray rendering, unreal engine.”

In terms of the Qualcomm chipset used to complete this task, the company used a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is the fastest chipset on the market for Android phones. The company also stated that the version of Stable Diffusion they used was optimized for “quantization, compilation, and hardware acceleration.”

While this may appear to be a minor accomplishment, given that smartphone processors were not previously thought to be powerful enough for AI Image generation, it is an impressive achievement. This could also imply that future Android smartphones will be able to use Stable Fusion and other AI-related tools to generate various types of content, and because this was accomplished without the use of an internet connection, all data will remain secure on the phone.
