Hideo Kojima, the developer of Metal Gear and Death Stranding, appears to have leaked his upcoming game before Kojima Productions made an official announcement. The rumored game is apparently a horror game called Overdose, and that title comes at the end of a recently released, extremely odd film. The enigmatic game may or may not be the same project Kojima has been teasing for months.

With Margaret Qualley from Once Upon a Tim in Hollywood, Overdose appears to be a survival horror-style game. Kojima previously collaborated with Qualley on Death Stranding. In the brief video, Qualley’s character is shown wandering through the corridors of an abandoned building while eerie noises and fleeting glimpses of what might be a monster or a killer play in the background. The game ends with a game over screen that prominently displays the phrase “A Hideo Kojima game” when she runs after being startled by something after shining the torch down a few hallways.

It appears that Overdose may be a mobile game, or at least playable on mobile devices, based on the clip, which is twice off-screen filmed and features a picture-in-picture image of a woman playing the game.

Using Microsoft’s cloud gaming technology, Kojima Productions is developing a game for Xbox Game Studios, which would be a bit of a change for Kojima.

It’s unknown whether the allegedly leaked Overdose video is real or not, and if it is, whether it depicts the game’s final iteration. The Qualley model being utilized in this instance appears to be the same one that was used in a scene in Death Stranding, as some users have noted on Twitter. The unknown is whether Overdose is a standalone project or if it is connected to Death Stranding.

In other words, there is a lot we don’t know and not much is revealed by these disclosures. But with Kojima Productions’ hints intensifying and it appearing that some game elements are playable, hopefully, we’ll hear more official news soon. The Game Awards next month might provide further information about Hideo Kojima and his studio’s upcoming journey.

AMD’s Frank Azor recently discussed their top RDNA 3 graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and their brand-new FSR 3 technology in an interview with PCWorld. AMD opted not to display any performance comparisons against their rivals’ RTX 40 series graphics cards when the firm launched its Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards, which include the Radeon RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT.

In reality, AMD avoided comparing the performance of its graphics cards to those made by NVIDIA, notably the RTX 30 series from before. The RX 6900 XT and RX 6950 XT, two of their earlier RX 6000 series cards, were the sole comparisons done.

The sole NVIDIA RTX 40 series card currently on the market, the RTX 4090, was not compared by AMD’s red team because their flagship, the RX 7900 XTX, is not made to compete against it at all, according to Frank Azor, AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and Marketing.

It was obvious that Intel required the contract chipmaking unit to have comparable size to Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. since fabs and production nodes are becoming more expensive when it launched its Intel Foundry Services division in early 2021. Since the aim was set to become the second-largest foundry by 2030, the corporation appears to be planning to be somewhat aggressive as well.

Intel will have to defeat Samsung Foundry, which produced over $20 billion in sales in 2021 and is on track to surpass this figure in 2022, to move up to No. 2 on the worldwide foundry market. Samsung Foundry is currently No. 2 according to TrendForce. While far trailing market leader TSMC (53.6%) and its nearest competitors UMC (6.9%) and GlobalFoundries (5.9%), Samsung Foundry controlled roughly 16.3% of global foundry revenue as of Q1 2022.

In contrast, Intel’s IFS business division has so far this year brought in $576 million in sales. When the deal to buy Tower Semiconductor is finalised in early 2023, Intel’s IFS segment will generate an additional $1.5 billion in revenue annually. IFS will now rank No. 7 or No. 8 globally in terms of foundries, but its income will still be far lower than Samsung Foundry.

Intel has so far made public a somewhat ambitious plan for its process technology that calls for high volume manufacture of chips using its 18A (18 angstroms, or 0.18 nm-class technology) in 2025 and the use of High-NA extreme ultraviolet lithography equipment for 18A, if practicable. Samsung Foundry and TSMC both intend to begin producing 2nm-class (20 angstroms-class) processors in 2025, while Intel’s production node strategy is somewhat more aggressive (which means that these will be available in very late 2025 at the earliest, or rather in 2026).

Intel’s plans are as aggressive in terms of chip capacity.

Construction on the company’s $3.5 billion facility for advanced packaging operations, its 20A-capable Fab 52 and Fab 62 at its camp near Chandler, Arizona, its first two 18A/20A-capable modules at its site near Columbus, Ohio, its first new Intel 4-capable module at its camp near Leixlip, Ireland, and its brand-new fab near Magdeburg, Germany are all currently underway. In total, Intel aims to spend close to $100 billion on new semiconductor fabrication facilities in the upcoming years (or rather, co-invest with governments and co-investment partners like Brookfield).

Samsung, though, is equally ambitious in its CapEx spending. In reality, Samsung will invest over $33 billion in new semiconductor production capacity this year and will maintain its investment at around the same level next year, the company recently revealed, while Intel decreased its capital expenditures from $27 billion in 2022 to $25 billion recently. Of course, it is unclear how much of these funds will go toward expanding the logic capacity of Samsung Foundry versus investing in memory (3D NAND and DRAM) production facilities, but the South Korean company is obviously very aggressive with its semiconductor business, making it particularly challenging for Intel to compete with SF’s advanced capacities.

It will be more difficult to steal customers from TSMC and Samsung Foundry because major clients like Nvidia and Qualcomm have long-term supply contracts with their foundry partners. The ability of Intel’s manufacturing facilities in Europe and America to offer the same pricing as TSMC and Samsung Foundry’s manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and South Korea is also an open question.

According to reports, the company intends to invest Rs 1,132 crore under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for smartphones between FY2022-23 and FY2024-25. Since the corporation entered a year late, it will only be taking part for four years.

Foxconn and Wistron, two additional Apple suppliers, will receive incentives for a period of five years. Global companies are required to make a cumulative minimum investment of Rs 1,000 crore over a four-year period in accordance with the PLI scheme’s rules. In the last year of the five-year arrangement, the corporations are not compelled to make an investment. Pegatron has committed to investing for the first three years because it will only accept incentives for a four-year period.

The initiative mandates that multinational corporations invest an additional minimum of Rs 250 crore in the first year compared to the base year. Pegatron intends to manufacture 94,349 iPhones over the course of four years, of which 77,293 iPhones will be exported. 28,733 individuals are expected to be employed by the business. In Chengalpet, Tamil Nadu, there is a manufacturing facility for Pegatron.

Pegatron had not responded to inquiries as of the time of publication. Apple declined to comment. The Pro models are currently imported from China and are not produced in India by any of Apple’s vendors. The 2020 launch of the PLI plan for smartphones was intended to entice manufacturers away from economically dominating nations like China and Vietnam. India is attempting to overtake the two nations, which continue to export more mobile phones than any other nation in the globe, thanks to the programme. By 2025–2026, India wants to export mobile phones worth $60 billion.
