Lucas Hernandez suffers ACL injury – out for 22/23 season

0

Although France were able to start their 2022 World Cup with a win, Lucas Hernandez injured himself in the initial part of the game. And with that, the defending champions will be without another key player in their campaign.

They have already lost Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Presnel Kimpembe, Mike Maignan, Christopher Nkunku and Karim Benzema to injury. And now, the Bayern Munich defender has joined the list with an ACL injury.

Lucas Hernandez ruled out for 2022 World Cup

Hernandez has struggled with injuries for the last few years, with over 100 days missed in 19/20. However, he barely missed matches in 20/21 before missing ten games last year. Now, his 22/23 season is over as it will take a few months for him to recover from the injury.

The 26-year-old played as a left-back and was replaced by his brother Theo Hernandez. However, he isn’t the only Bayern Munich player to pick up an injury in the World Cup. After Sadio Mane’s surgery and Lucas Hernandez’s ACL, Noussair Mazraoui might be out for a while as well, having been subbed off at half time.

France will not be able to name a replacement since the deadline was a day prior to the opening game. And now, they will have to compete in the tournament a man short.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT GPUs will be released in Custom Flavours after 2 weeks of its launch

0

According to a MyDrivers rumor, AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX & Radeon RX 7900 XT may only be offered at launch in reference models. While AMD will undoubtedly introduce the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT GPU lines on December 13th, it is noted that the graphics cards will only be offered in reference variants. Gamers will have to wait a little longer to buy custom graphics cards using the new RDNA 3 chips.

Although AMD board partners PowerColor and ASUS have teased and unveiled their Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT custom designs, they haven’t yet made an official announcement. Early next month, when we anticipate the reviews for the cards to appear, is when we can probably expect a full reveal. After the reviews, there will be a launch on December 13th, which is said to solely contain reference variations. It is stated that the custom AIB cards will be on sale 1-2 weeks after the AIB variants, however, pre-orders will probably become available sooner so that customers can reserve their cards.

The AIB partner cards will be significantly more expensive than the reference variants. We are aware that the MSRP for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is $999 US whereas the MSRP for the Radeon RX 7900 XT is $899 US. If premium AIB models are going to cost an additional $100–200 US, that puts them in the same price range as the RTX 4080, which has an MSRP of $1199 US.

Given that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is directly competing with the NVIDIA 4080 and that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX’s affordability is one of its most alluring qualities, the pricier versions could not stand a chance. However, the 4080 AIBs from NVIDIA cost more than USD 1300, and some even go above USD 1500. The claim also makes sense given AMD’s statement that partner cards will be available starting in the middle of December while reference cards will be available starting on December 13.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a much better performer than Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chip

0

Although there isn’t a significant performance difference between mobile chipsets released within a year, Qualcomm decided to go against this result by switching to TSMC and mass-producing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the 4nm technology. When compared to the Exynos 2200, which is also manufactured on the 4nm architecture, the outcome is an astonishing 45 percent multi-core gain.

Ice Universe provided the Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core performance results for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Exynos 2200, and the differences are glaring. The first Android smartphone to achieve a multi-core score of over 5,000 was Qualcomm’s flagship SoC. Because both chipsets were mass-produced using Samsung’s 4nm technology, they both shared many of the same problems as the Exynos 2200, including performance stability, thermal throttling, and other problems.

The Adreno 740 GPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is reportedly 60% quicker than the Exynos 2200’s graphics engine, albeit the source did not provide any data to support this assertion.

In addition, Ice Universe asserts that power efficiency has increased by as much as 88 percent, yet, like the GPU results, no data supports these striking improvements. On the other hand, transferring to TSMC has helped Qualcomm turn things around, so we have to assume that there would be many advantages when switching foundries.

Sadly, even if there is a significant performance gap between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Exynos 2200, Qualcomm’s newest SoC still falls short of the A16 Bionic, with the latter outperforming it in both single-core and multi-core tests. Although it matches the A15 Bionic’s performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is still a full generation behind Apple. Fortunately, with each day that goes by, the gap gets smaller.

Consumers who previously had to endure those purchases will rejoice that they would get the same performance and battery life as customers living in the U.S. because Samsung is not employing any Exynos SoC for its Galaxy S23 series arriving in 2023.

Finally, AMD Ryzen 7000 processors also get price cuts in India

0

Yes, it was coming after AMD announced the new Ryzen 7000 series processors and they were getting dominated by Intel’s 13th Gen SKUs because the price-to-performance ratio wasn’t justified. Now, AMD has widely reduced its CPU pricing considerably to counter Intel worldwide and officially seeing the new prices on multiple vendors in India we can say it has also been reduced in India as well.

As you know a few months back only AMD announced these four new Ryzen 7000X processors across the world and hosted a grand launch in India as well, where we went and found AMD to be very serious this time around to attract gamers in India.

Now, just a week after Intel dropped a bombshell in the form of Raptor Lake, so, although there’s no denying that the AMD chips are really good but the timing and Intel’s serious competition made Ryzen 7000 series a bit shabby for gamers. Also, another key reason why AMD had to cut costs had to be because of the higher prices of their new AM5-based motherboards.

Though transitioning to a future-proof AM5 platform is a smarter choice people were not convinced to do so because of the high price of these X670 boards and now that these AMD Ryzen 7000 processors will get even cheaper, people can save that money and invest in a new & future-proof platform.

AMD Ryzen 7000

Talking more on the price cut, all three CPUs have been discounted to some extent, the budget Ryzen 5 7600X which used to retail for around Rs.29k-30k now costs Rs.24k at MDcomputers or Vedant Computers and ₹28,999 on Amazon India. At that Rs.24k-25k price, this is a great 6-core offering but yes it gets humiliated by the Intel chips in terms of multi-core performance.

As we go up the product stack, the 8-core Ryzen 7 7700X that used to retail for around Rs.40-42k online has now got its price to ₹34,310 only on Amazon India and it’s the lowest across the online market. Now, at this price, as an 8-core chip, it’s a good gaming CPU and quite decent on productivity, again not very strong against the 12-core, 16-core Core i7s available for a few extra bucks.

Now, things get better for flagships because here the difference between AMD and even Intel’s latest 13th-Gen Raptor Lake is very marginal, so the price will play a big role indeed. The Ryzen 9s we have known to be very good value-for-money chips and this time both Ryzen 9 7900X and Ryzen 9 7950X have great gaming as well as productivity performance.

EXCLUSIVE: AMD Ryzen 7000 experience event shows promising signs for Indian gamers & enthusiasts

The 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X used to retail for around Rs.55k is now retailing for Rs.48k and is in line with the discounts in the world market as well. Currently its retailing at a discounted price at MDComputers and with time most retailers including Amazon India will be selling at its new price with time for sure.

The best discount that any CPU has received is the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X, which does perform really well with 16 cores both in terms of gaming and creativity. Even the new Raptor Lake Core i9-13900K has a hard time defeating this AMD champion which was launched at around $699 and was not retailing for less than Rs.70k but with Raptor Lake launch its price was reduced to some extent.

However, now the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X which has been globally discounted to $573.99 is now being sold at Rs.60k via MDComputers. So, overall, gamers and enthusiasts who had been waiting to buy a new AMD Ryzen 7000 chip can rejoice and make their new Gaming/Workstation PC easily.

Memo Ochoa penalty save denies Lewandowski first World Cup goal

0

Memo Ochoa is a name that springs up every four years, producing wonderful goalkeeping displays, before disappearing the same way it arrived. And last night, we were reminded of exactly how good the veteran is.

Playing in his fifth World Cup, Ochoa denied Robert Lewandowski from the penalty spot. And in doing so, he became the first Mexican goalkeeper to ever save a penalty at the grandest stage of all, in a very long time. He also helped start Mexico’s campaign with a clean sheet against a fearsome polish attack.

Memo Ochoa steps up yet again to deny Lewandowski

The Barcelona forward was awarded a penalty after a tussle with Hector Moreno. The decision was made after consulting with the VAR, but it was a weak attempt from Lewandowski denied by Memo Ochoa to remain goalless in all of his World Cup appearances till date.

Mexico were on the attack for a significant portion of the match, but despite having several close chances, they weren’t able to break the deadlock. As a result, the two sides have had to share a point in what was the second goalless draw of the evening.

But this will be the best possible results for Argentina, who suffered a shocking defeat against Saudi Arabia earlier yesterday. The way things stand, the Albiceleste have a decent chance of making it out of their group once again.
