List of Canceled Netflix Shows in 2022

30. Blockbuster

Cancelled: December 2022

This is not the first time, Netflix is at the fault for the death of Blockbuster. The comedy series, made by   NBC Universal veteran Vanessa Ramos, was about the last remaining Blockbuster store trying to keep its doors open but after a lacklustre first season, it won’t be returning. The title never featured in the official Netflix global top 10s and was critically panned.

29. Warrior Nun

Cancelled: December 2022

After getting such reviews from its loyal fanbase, a show like Warrior Nun got cancelled from facing the chop. Unfortunately, the writing was on the wall too early on after the release of season 2 provided its viewership trended far below Raising Dion and Fate: The Winx Saga, two other shows cancelled in their two seasons in 2022. The cancellation joins quite a large library of LGBTQ-focused teen shows that have been cut short over the years.

28. The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself

Cancelled: December 2022

The film has been produced by Andy Serkis, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself was a fantasy YA series based on the books by Sally Green. The series had been renamed on Netflix a few weeks after its run, likely serving as a last-ditch attempt at generating some buzz, but sadly, it wasn’t enough.

27. Queer Eye: Germany

Cancelled: December 2022

The German-Version of the US Queer Eye, won’t return to Netflix for a second outing. The most interesting fact is how this was cancelled. It was overhead at a dinner conversation, and the show was cancelled and eventually confirmed by Netflix.

26. The Midnight Club

Cancelled: December 2022

The first Mike Flanagan show has been designed for having a second season won’t be getting one. After a weak start and a massive drop in viewership between weeks 2 and 3, The Midnight Club won’t return for a season 2. The cancellation also coincides with the fact that Flanagan has taken his overall deal away from Netflix over to Prime Video.

25. Unsuspicious / Only for Love

Cancelled: November 2022

There are two Brazilian Netflix Original series that was confirmed to be cancelled by oglobo in November 2022. Things are Unsuspicious is a comedy series that debuted in August 2022 and ran for 9 episodes whereas Only for Love was the musical drama that debuted in September 2022.

24. The Imperfects

Cancelled: November 2022

With a very limited marketing window, the writing was probably on the wall for The Imperfect early on, following its addition to Netflix in early September 2022. After two months after the release, the show was officially cancelled by Netflix.

23. Partner Track

Cancelled: November 2022

Helen Wan’s legal drama based on the novel failed to secure a second season at Netflix despite the head of drama at the company expecting big things to come. It was one of the worst-performing debut shows in the top 10s of the year and, sadly, won’t be returning for future seasons.

22. Fate: The Winx Saga (Season 3)

Cancelled: November 2022

At the beginning of November, the showrunner of the teen fantasy series sadly published that the show would not be returning despite relatively strong performance in comparison with the other Netflix shows that got renewed for a third season.

In an Instagram post, Brian J Young posted:

“This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same. I’m so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did.”

21. Maldives

Cancelled: October 2022

This brand new Brazilian comedy series premiered on Netflix in the last summer of 2022 and was made by Natalia Klein. Sadly, top 10s reveal the show didn’t really catch fire in Brazil or anywhere else in the world for that matter on October 25th, a local Brazillian site reported that the cast had been told the show would not be continuing.

20. Love is Blind: Japan

Cancelled: October 2022

One of the numerous local-language spinoffs to Netflix reality shows was the Japanese Love is Blind entry which got a splashy season 2 renewal (Netflix Tudum covered it). Still, new reporting suggests that Netflix has pulled the plug. According to CinemaToday, the series would no longer be moving forward.

19. Grendel

Cancelled: September 2022

First announced in late 2021, Netflix was supposed to be adapting the Dark Horse Comics title and while they did complete filming, the project was scrapped midway through post-production. The series was going to star Abubakr Ali, Jaime Ray Newman, Julian Black Antelope, and Madeline Zima.

18. Resident Evil

Cancelled: August 2022

Resident Evil Reviews out of the gate for Resident Evil weren’t good. Many complained about how the show turned the classic horror franchise into a teen drama, which meant enough people didn’t finish the show to justify renewing for another entry. It has been stated for the show ultimately proved fatal for the Netflix adaptation.

17. First Kill

Cancelled: August 2022

Netflix’s new vampire LGBTQ series got off to a good start but things quickly went downhill according to statistics like top 10 hourly figures and completion data, meaning that after two months, it was quietly cancelled. After dropping off in popularity, the show acquired a passionate group of fans on social media who are trying to get the show renewed elsewhere.

16. Q-Force

Cancelled: June 2022

The renewal of the controversial LGBTQ-driven animated series Q-Force dropped in September 2021 to a whimper which meant that the show wasn’t given a second season pickup but instead quietly cancelled behind the scenes. Its cancellation was eventually revealed on a podcast.

15. The Chair

Cancelled: Unclear

Officially we’re yet to hear about the future of The Chair but by most accounts and based purely on performance, we can pretty much safely assume the show will not be returning. We do believe it’s not returning because Sandra Oh, the main star of the show, spoke to Variety in early 2022, saying that she guesses it’s “not happening”.

14. Adventure Beast

Cancelled: June 2022

It is exclusively reported the fact that Adventure Beast is “unlikely” to return to Netflix according to one of the producers on the project. You’d be forgiven if you hadn’t even noticed the animated series added to Netflix in late 2021 but despite good reviews, the show is not expected to return.

13. The Midnight Gospel

Cancelled: June 2022

The show has been created by Pendleton Ward and Duncan Trussell, this experimental adult-animated series involved you taking trips into trippy worlds within the show’s universe simulator. It was left-field and as a result, perhaps didn’t achieve the broadest audience required to justify a second season.

12. Standing Up

Cancelled: May 2022

The French series Standing Up comes from Fanny Herrero, best known for bringing to Netflix the beloved Call My Agent! series. Sadly, despite plans for a second season, there won’t be one on Netflix.

11. Feria: The Darkest Light

Cancelled: May 2022

The Spanish language horror show based on the Feria: The Darkest Light debuted on Netflix in January 2022, and just a few months later, a spinoff confirmed that the series did not meet expectations and has, therefore, been cancelled.

10. Raising Dion

Cancelled: April 2022

First premiering in October 2019, it took the show over 2 and a half years for the follow-up season to arrive on Netflix, and sadly, it didn’t perform well enough to justify a third season.

9. Space Force

Cancelled: April 2022

The writing was perhaps on the wall for Space Force even before the second season was released on Netflix. The show faced big budget cuts and a move to Vancouver, hoping to bring the costs down. Sadly, the show didn’t perform to Netflix’s expectations according to top 10 data meaning that the plug was pulled at the end of April.

8. Pretty Smart

Cancelled: April 2022

At first, it premiered back in October 2021, Pretty Smart struggled to get into the mainstream and was eventually announced to be cancelled on April 27th alongside the news that Emily Osment would now be a full-timer on Young Sheldon.

7. On the Verge

Cancelled: April 2022

This Netflix co-production with France’s Canal+ quietly dropped onto Netflix in September 2021. Sadly, the show failed to make much of an impact despite starring Elisabeth Shue. The series was cancelled in silence and if it weren’t for a reply to an Instagram comment, we wouldn’t have even known it had been canned.

6. Alien TV

Cancelled: Reported in  April 2022

After running for two seasons on Netflix, the Australian-produced kid’s series by focusing on alien reporters Ixbee, Pixbee, and Squee. We learned that the show isn’t set to return for future episodes in early 2022. However, the creators of the show were keen to stress that the door is open for future episodes down the road.

6. Diablero

Cancelled: March 2022

The Mexican series Diablero continues for two seasons on Netflix and this is the most recent season landing in 2022. Sadly, we have learned exclusively that it will not be returning for a third season on Netflix, rendering it cancelled.

5. Archive 81

Cancelled: 24th March 2022

One of the first major debuts shows on Netflix in 2022 was Archive 81, a new horror series based on a podcast series of the same name. While the show did top Netflix’s top 10s, there’s evidence that viewership drop-off between episodes could’ve been the reason for the early demise of Archive 81.

4. The Baby-Sitters Club

Cancelled: 11th March 2022

First debuting in October 2020, The Baby-Sitters Club came from Rachel Shukert and eventually went on to run for two seasons on Netflix but won’t return for a third.

Frank Smith from Walden Media said:

“We are incredibly grateful for Netflix’s vision and support in bringing the world of The Babysitters Club to life. Though we are saddened the series has come to an end, we look forward to future opportunities to share the legacy of Ann M Martin’s beloved work with new audiences.”

3. Gentefied

Cancelled: 13th January 2022

After arguably defying the odds to get to a second season, Gentefied failed to get renewed for a third season, with the cancellation news coming in early January 2022. While it did break into the Netflix TV top 10s in the US, it only did so for 9 days before dropping out. The new comedy series told the story of three Latino cousins trying to keep their grandfather’s dream alive by keeping their taco show afloat in a fast-changing neighbourhood.

2. Cooking with Paris

Cancelled:  17th January

Although the bigger question is why was it given a series in the first place, it turns out there wasn’t a strong enough audience for Paris Hilton’s cooking show to justify a second season.

Deadline confirms that Netflix has opted to not renew Cooking with Paris for a second season despite the show appearing in the top 10s in Australia for 5 days and in Canada for a single day. It did not appear in the US top 10s. The series featured the media personality cooking simple recipes in her lavish kitchen alongside celebrity guests, including Kim Kardashian West, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato, and Lele Pons.  The new series has got a 5.3 on IMDb with a 34 on Metacritic.

1. Another Life (Season 3)

Cancelled: 21st February 2022

Netflix had cancelled Another Life. We can assume the series had been dropped by Netflix as early as December 2021, thanks to a tweet from Katie Sackhoff that heavily hinted at the show’s fate.

After its own loyal fan following it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Another Life was cancelled. The series was unable to impress the fans and critics alike and simply didn’t have an audience large enough for Netflix to invest more money.

Shows at Risk of Cancellation in 2022

Netflix confirms many of its shows are on hiatus, meaning there’s no word on whether we’ll be getting future seasons. There are many shows that are rendering at high risk of cancellation:

  • Ares (Season 2)
  • Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun (Season 2)
  • Battle Kitty (Season 2)

Rules for the IPL mini-auction

Credits- ICC Cricket Schedule

The 405 shortlisted players will go under the hammer. In the 2023 auction, the process will begin with No.87 players and continue till 405. The franchises will have to nominate a few players who were previously unsold. If there are still empty spots after the first expedited round, the auctioneer will permit the franchisees to suggest a different group of players (with a smaller number), giving the unsold players one more opportunity to find takers.

Christmas gets better with Google: Pixel 6a for $299, Pixel 7 for $499 and Pixel 7 Pro for $749

Google has huge improvements to its Pixel phones which were considered to be the best for a pure Android experience and cameras, but in 2022, the Moutain View giant has completely changed that perspective. Now, Pixel smartphones feel more premium, easy to use, and affordable yet no compromise on camera, hardware or any sort.

While they are not the best in terms of performance to compete against Apple or as superior to Apple’s security but for an Android lover Pixels are really a dream. However, in the last couple of years, these Pixels have been destroyed by bugs, shady video capture and slow interface due to a lack of hardware performance.

They have not completely solved this with the 2022 launches like Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro but have certainly improved it with lower MSRPs than Apple. Now, to make things even better Google is selling these Pixels at some crazy prices just before Christmas so anyone who is looking for a reliable Android phone should definitely go for Pixels.

Talking about the cameras of these Pixel smartphones, both prominent YouTubers MKBHD and MrWhoseTheBoss have highly praised the Pixel 6a or even the Pixel 7 Pro for its price-to-performance as well as the incredible cameras. So, getting the newer Pixel 6a for $299 is indeed a bargain especially who need a budget phone or looking for a second phone.

Google Pixel 7 Series

On the other hand, pure Android lovers should target the flagship Pixel 7 Pro, which has now been discounted to $749 from its MSRP of $899, making it again a great option in the affordable flagship category. Now, those who have an urgency for mid-range smartphones in that $500 price bracket could actually get this Pixel 7 for as low as $499.

All of these Pixel phones support 5G and so, you shouldn’t have to worry on that and avail the offers before stocks last:

Bengaluru-headquartered blockchain-based esports fan engagement startup STAN has announced that they have successfully concluded a first-of-its-kind user engagement activity in the form of an in-person Bootcamp visit arranged in collaboration with India’s leading esports team GodLike Esports for the young esports fans in India.

As a part of this initiative,4fans belonging from different parts of India, named Ansh Sahu, Taufeek khan, Armaan Khan, and Shaik Mohammed Younus, were being facilitated a day-long tour to the GodLike Bootcamp in Mumbai – the largest and grandest gaming facility in India as of today, where these fans got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet their esports idols, including celebrated esports players like Jonathan “JONATHAN” AmaralAbhishek “ZGOD” Choudhary, Arshpreet “GiLL” Singh and Arjun “SHADOW” Mandhalkar, among others.

STAN collaborates with GodLike Esports, Organizes the GodLike Bootcamp Tour

This activity (Bootcamp tour) was a part of STAN’s ongoing digital giveaway event named STAN FanQuest – where they are giving away a plethora of exciting prizes worth upto INR 25 lakhs to a select group of fans, which includes Bootcamp tours, Instagram Live sessions with creators, talk shows and signed merch from creators, among other exciting rewards or perks.

These four fans who had the chance to visit the GodLike Bootcamp were the ones who were previously granted early access to the JONATHAN Limited Digital Collectible (LDC) via the STAN mobile app, which included the incredible fan perk of meeting India’s most-popular BGMI player Jonathan personally at the GodLike Bootcamp. Notably, STAN had, earlier this year, announced a long-term collaboration with GodLike Esports, as a part of which the JONATHAN LDCs were released on STAN’s platform. Besides, purchasing and owning the JONATHAN LDCs has also enabled the users to get access to a wide range of other benefits such as exclusive in-app benefits, being a part of early access and discounted collectable sales on STAN, instant rewards on STAN, premier STAN Club access,  STAN’s upcoming FanFests’ access, and so on.

Speaking about the activity, Nauman Mulla, Co-Founder & COO, STAN commented, “It was a proud and happy moment for us to be able to take some of the fans (whom we like to call STANs) to visit the largest gaming facility in India, the GodLike Bootcamp located in Mumbai. At STAN, our constant endeavour is to provide our users and the esports enthusiast community at large with thrilling and sought-after fan experiences, which a fan would not otherwise get to experience very often. In the longer run, we hope to unleash more fan experiences like this one. For example, we have soon planned to take more STAN users to similar valuable destinations including a tour of S8UL Bootcamp.”

Jonathan from GodLike Esports said, “It was a fantastic experience to meet, greet and play with my superfans at the GL Bootcamp. Big ups to STAN for facilitating this visit and bringing my fans closer to me and the other creators and gamers at GodLike Esports, and I’m looking forward to more such awesome fan engagements in the times to come. STAN and GodLike are both on a journey to uplift and revolutionize esports in India, and I’m glad and proud to be a key part of this mission.”

Armaan Khan (a fan) commented, “It was an unforgettable experience to meet and play with the legendary Jonathan and other members from GodLike. It was like a dream-come-true moment as I met the creators whom I have admired for a very long time. I still cannot believe that this happened, and I’m extremely grateful to STAN for making this possible.”

During the Bootcamp tour, each of the fans received the wonderful opportunity to not just meet the nation’s leading esports athletes from titles like PUBG: NEW STATE, Call of Duty Mobile, and Battlegrounds Mobile India, as well as multiple content creators who were present at the Bootcamp, but also got to play on their favourite athletes’ and creators’ gaming setups and interact like never before with their esports idols. Furthermore, with a detailed tour of the Bootcamp facility facilitated especially for them, the fans were able to observe closely how a grand gaming facility is run, how esports players practice therein, their routine and their day-to-day activities, and much more. The tour ended with a dinner hosted for the fans along with the presence of the GodLike team members, followed by gifting the creators’-signed goodies and merchandise to the fans. All in all, the experience was like a dream come true for all the fans, with a couple of them even getting extremely emotional and/or taking inspiration to pursue esports as a professional career option.

Notably, the GodLike Bootcamp is a state-of-the-art facility spread over an area of 25,000 sq. ft., located in Mumbai, India, which houses the 40+ strong GodLike team, including the esports players, content creators and management team at GodLike. On the other hand, STAN has built a uniquely-crafted one-stop platform for the constantly growing pool of esports fans in India and the world to optimally engage, play and grow closer to their idols in the esports space. And they have already inked digital collectables and/or NFT-related partnerships with several leading esports athletes and esports teams/orgs in India.
