After a year, we can see that the nations of the world are mainly in the middle of the vibranium arms racing. The U.N. gives pressured Queen Ramonda on sharing vibranium having the rest of the world, that raids are going to happen in Wakanda facilities. The Queen’s scars that indicate the world views Wakanda as weak without the Black Panther, but she has been worried about what is going to happen if they permit vibranium to fall into the wrong hands.
This is the place from where Namor came to hailing from the underwater civilization popular as Talokan, as a ruler in Namor of his realm he and his people have a source of vibranium of Wakanda is still not aware of.
The CIA holds a vibranium detecting machine without Namor desires its creator killed to deter the people of the surface world, precious metal, interfering along with the people below the sea. These things led the Wakandans to brilliant MTR student Riri Williams as the machine maker.
At the time while Boston, Shuri, and Okoye having a run-in with Namor’s lieutenants Namora and Attuma and Shuri and Riri have been captured by the water-breathers and have taken to Talokan. Namor has taken to Shuri with a tour of the underwater realm making his case due to the reason Wakanda should collaborate with him against the surface world sets as a threat.
Nokia soon infiltrates the cave where Shuri and Riri are set to behold, and they can escape back to Wakanda. Namor was not happy with the development that results from the death of Queen Ramonda and drowns to save Riri. Namor sets to return in a week, Shuri can use a bracelet given to her by Namor to facilitate in making a synthetic heart-shaped herb. The vibranium-plant boost that traditionally provided the Black Panthers with their powers also got lost in the previous movie while Killmonger destroyed all vestiges of it.
Shuri can ingest the herb and become the latest Black Panther. She soon enacts the plan to draw Namor and his people out in the ocean for a battle where she can trap Namor and hopefully beat him. She has realized without water. At the time of the battle, Riri fighting in an Iron-Man like a suit of armor that she has diagnosed when M’Baku and the other Wakandans fight Namor’s people.

Unfortunately, the ship crashes on a exert beach, and they can engage in hand-to-hand combat that unveils Shuri getting impaled via the stomach. She is holding a blade to his neck while she sees Queen Ramonda in her mind, encouraging compassion instead of revenge by telling, ” Show them who you are.” She is telling Namor to yield and put their people first as T’Challa has done to Killmonger in the first film. Namor already accepts and the battle coming at the end.

Wakanda is standing alone in this world. The compassion of Dhuri for Talokan will prove useful eventually. We can see Okoye rescue Martin Freeman’s ex-CIA agent Everett K. Ross. He has got arrested by his ex-wife earlier in the movie for covertly working with Wakanda. The ex-wife is Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Valentina Alegra de Fontaine, recruiting slowly the Thunderbolts in MCU’s Phase 4.
Shuri is just visiting Nakia in Haiti so she can able finally burn her robes from Tchalla’s funeral as her mother had instructed her to do earlier in this film. We can see her thinking about T’Challa as the robes are burned with the footage of Boseman playing the role. Shuri is going to pursue a more sympathetic career like the Black Panther than she might have if she had given to take revenge and murder Namor during their battle.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Post-Credits Scene
As noted at the top of this page, there is a Wakanda Forever mid-credits scene but no end-credits scene. Let’s dig into what happens in those mid-credits right now.
The scene is still set on the beach with Shuri, as Nakia asks if she and a young boy can join her. The boy is called Toussaint , but he tells Shuri that’s only his Haitian name. His real name is T’Challa, son of King T’Challa of Wakanda. The elder T’Challa and Nakia had chosen to raise their son in Haiti, away from the pressures of the throne, and he prepared them for his death and asked them not to attend the funeral. They held their own service for him in Haiti. And yes, Ramonda got to meet her grandson before she died.
The film is also dedicated to Chadwick Boseman and ends simply with a “Black Panther will return” title card.
Wakanda: Easter Eggs
- Namor out and out tells Shuri he’s a mutant here. Which of course, in the comics is also true. He’s even been a member of the X-Men! Follow the link for more on how Namor sets up the X-Men in Wakanda Forever.
- Basing Talokan culture on the Aztecs and Mesoamerican culture is a new addition by the MCU, replacing Atlantis as Namor’s traditional home. Talokan is based on a place described in Aztec manuscripts as a subterranean paradise where those who died water-related deaths go. It is ruled over by Tlāloc, the supreme god of rain and water and the giver of life.
- Namor says the line “Imperius Rex” during his big fight with Shuri. This has been Namor’s comic battle cry for decades. The loose Latin translation is “emperor king,” so some have deduced it basically means, “Hey, I’m the king and I do what I want so I’m going to kick your ass.” But that’s a bit wordy, so “Imperius Rex” it is.
- Riri makes a few movie references when Shuri is presented with a dress to wear, saying this is classic villain treatment — Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Princess Leia from Star Wars, and that white lady from Raiders of Lost Ark. All properties under the Disney umbrella, we might add.
