Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain Makes Hugely Popular Comedy Show’s Big-Screen Debut: Release Date Announced

For the first time in Indian television history, a show that continues to air on television is making a cinematic leap to the big screen. Zee Cinema and Zee Studios have officially announced that Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, one of India’s most beloved comedy sitcoms, will debut theatrically as Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain: Fun On The Run on February 6, 2026. After entertaining millions of viewers for over a decade on the small screen, the iconic show is now preparing to expand its comedic universe into a full-blown theatrical adventure that promises to deliver even bigger laughs and chaos.

The announcement has generated tremendous excitement among the show’s loyal fanbase, who have cherished the antics of Vibhuti, Tiwari, Angoori Bhabi, Anita Bhabi, and the unforgettable ensemble for years. This cinematic adaptation marks a historic moment in Indian entertainment, where an ongoing television series transforms into a feature film while continuing to air on its original network.

The Show’s Remarkable Legacy

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain premiered on March 2, 2015, on &TV and has since become a cultural phenomenon. Inspired by the 1990s Hindi sitcom Shrimaan Shrimati, the show has consistently delivered neighborhood comedy centered around the hilarious misadventures of two neighboring couples—the Mishra and Tiwari families.

The show recently achieved a monumental milestone in January 2026, completing a remarkable 2500 episodes. This unprecedented longevity demonstrates the show’s enduring appeal and the audiences’ deep connection with its characters. The series has generated countless iconic moments, memorable catchphrases, and cultural conversations that have made it a household staple across India. From Angoori Bhabi’s famous “Sahi pakde hain!” to Saxena ji’s legendary “I like it!”, these phrases have become part of everyday Hindi conversation for millions of viewers.

The Film Cast: Iconic Characters Return

The film brings back the original cast who have defined these beloved characters through countless episodes. Rohitashv Gour’s portrayal of the dramatic Manmohan Tiwari, Aasif Sheikh’s charming Vibhuti, Shubhangi Atre’s iconic Angoori, and Vidisha Srivastava’s sophisticated Anita form the core ensemble. Their established chemistry and impeccable comedic timing have been perfected over years of working together, making them the film’s greatest assets.

To elevate the comedy adventure to unprecedented heights, three of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated entertainers have joined the ensemble. Ravi Kishan, Mukesh Tiwari, and Nirahua bring their explosive energy and effortless humor, promising to add fresh dimensions to the comedic chaos that audiences have come to expect.

Production and Creative Details

Director Shashank Bali has been tasked with translating the intimate sitcom format into an expansive theatrical experience. The film was shot in scenic Dehradun and Mussoorie over 20 days in March 2025, lending fresh backdrops to the familiar characters. The shooting wrapped seamlessly, allowing post-production work to proceed smoothly toward the February 2026 theatrical release.

The Central Plot: Timeless Comedy Premise

The film’s narrative revolves around the enduring comedic premise that has sustained the television series: both husbands, Manmohan Tiwari and Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, are constantly smitten by each other’s wives, Angoori Bhabi and Anita Bhabi, respectively. Their relentless attempts to woo each other’s partners lead to a series of awkward, hilarious, and culturally resonant situations that form the comedic backbone of the story.

The theatrical adaptation is expected to escalate this comedic chaos, taking these familiar situations to more outrageous and adventurous heights. What audiences have experienced in episodic television now expands into a full-blown, larger-than-life comedy adventure that leverages cinema’s visual grandeur and extended runtime to develop character arcs and comedic sequences more comprehensively.

A Historic Cinematic Moment

This film represents a groundbreaking moment in Indian entertainment history. Unlike most television-to-film adaptations that occur after a show concludes, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain continues airing on &TV while simultaneously preparing its theatrical release. This simultaneous existence on both mediums is extraordinarily rare in Indian cinema, making the project genuinely unique.

The decision to make this transition speaks to the show’s undiminished popularity and audience demand. Millions of viewers have demonstrated consistent engagement with the characters and their stories, providing confidence to producers that these beloved figures can command theatrical audiences accustomed to bigger budgets, larger canvases, and cinematic production values.

Marketing and Audience Anticipation

The announcement has generated organic excitement across social media platforms. Fans have expressed overwhelming enthusiasm about seeing their favorite characters on the big screen. The promise of “full-blown, laugh-out-loud adventure” that expands the comedic universe has particularly resonated with audiences who view this as an opportunity to experience the show they love in a grander format while maintaining its essential charm.

The strategic February 6 release date positions the film during a period of relative theatrical quietness before major releases dominate multiplexes. This timing may prove advantageous for a comedy that relies on word-of-mouth and audience goodwill built over more than a decade.
