BGMI Welcomes ‘Kiaraa’: KRAFTON India Unveils Its First Original In-Game Character Made Entirely in India

KRAFTON India is set to introduce Kiaraa, its first original in-game character IP for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), created entirely by the company’s in-house art team in India and designed exclusively for Indian players. The character will make her debut as part of the BGMI 4.6 update, going live from October 8, 2026.

A Homegrown Character IP for BGMI

Until now, BGMI’s roster of skins and character concepts has largely been adapted from PUBG Mobile’s global content pipeline. Kiaraa marks a shift: KRAFTON India says the character has been conceptualized and built domestically, positioning her as the first true “Made in India” character IP for the game. For a title that has built its identity around its massive Indian player base, a locally created character is a notable step toward giving BGMI its own distinct visual and cultural identity rather than relying solely on global assets.

When Does Kiaraa Arrive?

Kiaraa is scheduled to enter BGMI with the 4.6 update on October 8, 2026. As with previous major updates, players can expect the rollout to include the new character alongside other seasonal content, though full patch notes for 4.6 are yet to be officially detailed.

Why This Matters

BGMI has consistently leaned into India-specific collaborations, esports pushes, and localized content to stay close to its player base after its return to the country. An original, India-built character IP takes that localization a step further — from partnerships and events into the game’s core creative assets. It also signals growing investment in KRAFTON’s Indian studio talent for creative and art development work, not just operations and community management.

What We Don’t Know Yet

Details such as Kiaraa’s in-game role, ability set (if any), rarity tier, availability (paid outfit, event reward, or battle pass content), and pricing have not been officially detailed yet. TechnoSports will update this article as more information is confirmed closer to the October 8 rollout.
