Netflix’s teen gambling drama BET has officially wrapped production on its second season. Loosely based on the manga Kakegurui, the series follows Yumeko Jabami as she infiltrates an elite school’s underground gambling hierarchy to avenge her murdered parents — and season 2 promises even higher stakes.

Where Season 1 Left Off
Yumeko discovered that every member of the shadowy Kakegurui Club — including her allies’ own parents — was responsible for her parents’ deaths. After killing Ray, a school board member, she learned a shocking twist: her mother may still be alive, with $30 billion in digital currency hidden away. Season 2 will need to untangle that mystery, along with Yumeko’s fractured alliance with rival Kira and her uncertain future with former ally Michael.

New Face, Bigger Stakes
Rapper and actress Saweetie has joined the cast for season 2, though her character remains under wraps. She described being drawn to the show’s “psychological edge” and its roots in manga storytelling. Showrunner Simon Barry confirmed the wrap on social media, calling it a season full of “gambling insanity and campy drama.”
Given season 1’s ten-month post-production turnaround, fans can expect BET season 2 sometime around Summer 2027.
