BenQ (https://www.benq.com/en-in/index.html), a technology solutions provider, today announced the India launch of its BenQ Board Pro RP05 interactive display. The new display, designed to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into classroom environments, will be available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch sizes.
The RP05 is equipped with a 10 trillion operations per second (TOPS) Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which BenQ states positions it as the most powerful NPU in a large-format interactive display in the Indian market, supported by an ETHZ AI score of approximately 430. This NPU facilitates on-device generative AI functionalities, reducing reliance on an active internet connection for core AI operations. The system runs on a MediaTek Genio 720 chipset, incorporating 16GB DDR5X RAM and 256GB storage, with software updates delivered over the air.

AI Integration for Educational Tools
BenQ’s integrated AI suite aims to enhance teaching methodologies. Key features include ‘AI Lesson,’ designed to generate lesson plans and teaching outlines, and ‘AI Quiz,’ which automates the creation of quizzes and practice questions. The ‘Ask AI’ feature provides a conversational interface directly on screen, allowing teachers and students to obtain immediate answers without exiting current applications. Additionally, ‘Camera Gesture’ enables content navigation through hand movements detected by the board’s integrated camera, while ‘Lasso Search’ allows users to draw a circle around on-screen elements for relevant information retrieval.

The EZWrite 6.0 whiteboard platform further extends AI functionalities. ‘EZMath’ converts handwritten equations and diagrams into digital content and performs calculations. A one-tap translation feature supports 59 languages, and ‘AI Text-to-Speech’ converts on-screen text into natural-sounding speech. For wireless screen sharing via InstaShare 2, ‘AI Guardian’ scans images and videos from student devices in real time, blocking inappropriate content. BenQ states its AI features do not store or collect personal data.
Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India and South Asia, commented, “The RP05 aims to enhance teachers’ multi-tasking abilities by providing a low-power consumption solution that minimizes slowdowns, allowing educators to focus on teaching.”
Hardware, Health, and Security Features
The RP05 features a 70W audio system, comprising two 25W speakers and a 20W subwoofer, alongside an eight-microphone array. It supports up to 50 simultaneous touch points across Android and Windows operating systems. Connectivity options include USB-C 3.0 with 100W Power Delivery, HDMI 2.0 inputs, and a Duo Screen output for extending to a second display.
