IPL 2023 to have its mini-auction in Istanbul, Turkey: BCCI

Reports suggest the BCCI will have an overseas auction in turkey for the very first time. Istanbul, Turkey is considered to be a good decision, however, Bengaluru is considered to be a backup. The IPL Auction is supposed to be held on December 16. Currently, BCCI and IPL GC are in the talking stage with the 10 franchises.

IPL is gaining popularity internationally, which made the BCCI shift focus from their regular venue IPL to a foreign land. The authorities always preferred overseas but the franchises have disagreed stating it will be indeed expensive.

BCCI plans to have the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Istanbul, Turkey

The BCCI is also thinking of hosting IPL 2023 mini-auction in Turkey. However a final decision awaits till Monday. The final decision is to be taken early of the next month. The mini-auction is going to be a one-day affair. The BCCI is considering to hold a workshop and an entire trip to Turkey in three in four days.

As per reports, the mini-auction is most likely to be held in December. The upcoming mini-auction is going to be a one-day affair. The IPL purse was INR 90 crore in the last year and is likely to increase to INR 95 crore.

BCCI’s chief Sourav Ganguly desires to contest for Cricket Association of Bengal’s president after Roger Binny took his place as the president of BCCI. He recently backed out from the contest giving his elder brother Snehashish Ganguly the opportunity to contest the elections.

In IPL 2022 Auction, the salary purse was rs 90 Cr. It will be rising by 5 Cr. in IPL 2023. In IPL 2024, the Purse money will be set at Rs 100 Cr. As per the trade-ins, the salary purse many increase or decrease for the franchises.

The IPL will start last week of March, tentatively around the 22nd or 23rd. A final decision will be taken in the IPL Governing Council Meeting.
