The cricket board, BCCI, is planning on presenting itself as ‘determined to host’ the T20 World Cup scheduled in October-November, in India, Infront of the Special General Body meeting on 29th May. The second destination as an option for hosting the World Cup remains to be the United Arab Emirates due to its convenience. This comes after the IPL was cancelled after covid-19 cases were detected in the tiny bio bubbles at Dubai.

The second wave of India and the possibility of a third wave occurring soon has led to Dubai being the second option for the T20 World Cup. Due to the current covid crisis in the country, cricket has been vastly affected, which has also affected the online betting situation. For years, people have been betting on cricket for various reasons. Many betting sites offer their customers profitable betting options with bonus codes like the bet365 bonus code, while making it simple and easy for beginners to understand betting. During the T20 season, online betting sites are expected to pick up steam in India.

In the SGM meeting that is expected to be held on the 29th, the rescheduling and hosting of the remaining 31 IPL matches (Indian Premier League) will also be discussed. The BCCI is keen on resuming and completing this year’s IPL. As of now, the United Kingdom is the first choice for the matches, and even Sri Lanka was taken into consideration earlier. A few board sources explain how for the time being, India is the host venue for the World Cup. However, if things worsen in the country due to the pandemic then a call can be taken only after the month of June when the situation is better.

The test series between India and England is also expected to take place in the UK. According to reports, the BCCI and the Wales Cricket Boards are willing to adjust their five-test series to ensure that they have space for the IPL to take place. The hosting of the T20 World Cup will, however, depend on the condition of the covid-19 pandemic in India. The International Cricket Council is also considering expanding the T20 World Cup from 16 teams to 20 teams from 2024. There are also speculations that the number of teams in the 50-over World Cup will also increase.

According to reports, a source has been quoted saying, “BCCI and the ECB are in discussions to tweak the five-Test series. Details of those discussions aren’t public yet. But in whichever manner the ECB agrees to tweak the Test series, they will want the IPL in England because the counties can earn from it. There’ll be a good chance of a quid pro quo.” This comes as a piece of good news for all the Indian cricket fans. In 2020, the Duleep Trophy, as well as the Ranji Trophy tournaments, could not take place due to the rising covid cases. As mentioned earlier, even the IPL was cancelled. However, this year, if the condition of the pandemic gets better in India by October, then good news awaits all cricket fans.
