The cricket board, BCCI, is planning on presenting itself as ‘determined to host’ the T20 World Cup scheduled in October-November, in India, Infront of the Special General Body meeting on 29th May. The second destination as an option for hosting the World Cup remains to be the United Arab Emirates due to its convenience. There are also speculations that the number of teams in the 50-over World Cup will also increase.
According to reports, a source has been quoted saying, “BCCI and the ECB are in discussions to tweak the five-Test series. Details of those discussions aren’t public yet. But in whichever manner the ECB agrees to tweak the Test series, they will want the IPL in England because the counties can earn from it. There’ll be a good chance of a quid pro quo.” This comes as a piece of good news for all the Indian cricket fans. In 2020, the Duleep Trophy, as well as the Ranji Trophy tournaments, could not take place due to the rising covid cases. As mentioned earlier, even the IPL was cancelled.
