Barcelona set up a meeting with Dani Olmo’s representatives for reported transfer

Barcelona is expected to meet with Dani Olmo’s representatives ahead of a possible trade. In the summer transfer window, Olmo was linked with a move to Barcelona, and the Catalan club approached RB Leipzig in the aftermath of Antoine Griezmann’s exit, but it was too late.

Concerning the Transfer

Barca is reportedly planning a second move for the Spain international, though it is unclear when this will happen. The Blaugrana are unsure whether or not they will be able to spend in January, or how much they will be able to spend. With this in mind, Barca will inform Olmo’s representation that a move forward might happen as early as next summer.

According to Diario AS, Barca will meet with Olmo’s representatives to explore a possible transfer in the coming weeks. The 23-year-old is under contract with Leipzig until 2023, and the German club is expected to want in the region of €60 million.

About the Spanish Footballer

Daniel Olmo Carvajal is a Spanish footballer who now plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and the Spanish national team. He can play as a winger or an offensive midfielder. Olmo signed a four-year contract with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on January 25, 2020.

On 9 February, he made his debut appearance for the club in a goalless draw against Bayern Munich, replacing Patrik Schick in the 69th minute. He scored both goals in a 2–0 win over 1899 Hoffenheim on June 12th. He scored the opening goal in a 2–1 win over Atlético Madrid at Estádio José Alvalade on August 13, advancing Leipzig to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history.

Switching to Manchester City

Manchester City has approached Dani Olmo’s entourage, according to Catalan source El Nacional, with the Spanish international pondering a move to the Etihad. Barcelona has been interested in the RB Leipzig striker, but their interest has cooled in recent weeks.

The interest in Olmo is reasonable given the uncertainties surrounding Torres and another Barcelona target, Raheem Sterling. As a result, Manchester City was wise to identify the 23-year-old as a target, and the Citizens also contacted his entourage.

According to the source, Olmo is reportedly exploring a move to Manchester City due to Barcelona’s position on a summer transfer for him. The notion of being coached by Pep Guardiola in addition to playing in the Premier League appeals to the 23-year-old. However, City will have to compete with Manchester United and Bayern Munich for Olmo’s signature, and it is unclear when he will arrive at the Etihad.
