Bakasura Restaurant OTT Release: Double Streaming Premiere on Amazon Prime & Sun NXT

The Telugu horror-comedy genre gets a fresh addition as Bakasura Restaurant makes its digital debut today, September 8, 2025. The makers announced that the movie will premiere digitally on September 8, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video and Sun NXT, giving audiences multiple viewing options for this supernatural thriller.

Bakasura Movie Overview & Cast Details

Directed by SJ Shiva, Bakasura Restaurant follows a wish of 5 youngsters that leads them to unveil a supernatural force lurking beneath around them. The film features an ensemble cast including Praveen, Harsha Chemudu, Jai Krishna, Janardhan Achari, and Krishna Bhagavan in pivotal roles.

Why Dual Platform Release Matters

The simultaneous release on both Amazon Prime Video and Sun NXT represents a strategic move to maximize audience reach. While Prime Video caters to a global audience, Sun NXT specifically targets South Indian viewers, ensuring comprehensive market coverage.

This dual-platform approach is becoming increasingly popular in the Telugu film industry, especially for horror-comedies that have found their niche audience on OTT platforms. Similar successful releases have shown that multiple platform availability significantly boosts viewership numbers.

What Makes Bakasura Restaurant Special

The film promises to blend supernatural elements with comedy, a formula that has worked well for recent Telugu releases. The story revolves around five youngsters whose innocent wish unleashes mysterious forces, creating the perfect setup for both scares and laughs.

Director SJ Shiva has crafted a narrative that appeals to younger demographics while maintaining the traditional horror-comedy elements that Telugu audiences love. The restaurant setting adds an interesting backdrop for the supernatural occurrences.

Streaming Guide & Availability

Amazon Prime Video subscribers can watch Bakasura Restaurant without additional charges, while Sun NXT users also get instant access as part of their subscription. Both platforms offer HD streaming with subtitles, making the film accessible to wider audiences.

For those new to these platforms, both offer free trial periods, making it easier to catch this horror-comedy without immediate subscription commitments.

Box Office to OTT Journey

This marks the film’s second chance to win over audiences, suggesting the movie had a theatrical release before its digital premiere. Many Telugu films find renewed success on OTT platforms, especially in the horror-comedy genre where word-of-mouth plays a crucial role.

The move to OTT allows the film to reach audiences who might have missed its theatrical run, potentially building a cult following among streaming audiences.
