Avengers: Endgame Encore’s New Poster Rewrites a 2019 Classic — Here’s What Changed

Marvel Studios just did something it’s never done before for a theatrical re-release: instead of designing a fresh poster, it altered an iconic 2019 original. Avengers: Endgame Encore hits theaters September 25, and its marketing is leaning hard into nostalgia ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

What’s New in the Encore Poster?

The new poster reworks a 2019 design by artist Eileen Steinbach, showing the six original Avengers’ silhouettes marching into battle under the “Whatever It Takes” tagline. It’s been updated with new formatting and Endgame‘s freshly designed re-release logo — marking Marvel’s first time repurposing an existing poster rather than creating something entirely original for a re-release.

How the Encore Posters Compare Across Formats?

Notably, most of the new artwork centers on Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and his ultimate sacrifice rather than Avengers: Endgame‘s original villain, Thanos — a clear signal of where Marvel’s messaging is headed.

Why This Re-Release Matters for Doomsday

Beyond nostalgia, Endgame Encore includes new footage connecting directly to December’s Avengers: Doomsday, plus a few minutes of sneak-peek footage exclusive to Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings. Theories point to scenes involving Steve Rogers returning the Infinity Stones or Loki’s transformation into the God of Stories, both of which could set the stage for Doctor Doom’s arrival.
