ASUS and Noctua announces it’s their quietest air-cooled graphics cards of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

IN recent news, both ASUS and Noctua have unveiled their collaborative custom versions of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. In the Noctua Edition, we get two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans and the 120 mm fans cool the cards well, they do however make them 87.5 mm thick and 4.3 slots wide. Both cards are 310 mm wide and 147 mm tall, for reference.

Only clock speeds separate the RTX 3070 Noctua Edition and RTX 3070 Noctua OC Edition from each other. ASUS states that the Noctua Edition arrives with a 1,755 MHz boost clock, 30 MHz above the RTX 3070 Founders Edition. By contrast, ASUS has clocked the Noctua OC Edition at 1,845 MHz, 120 MHz, and 7% higher than NVIDIA’s reference boost speed.

Both the OEM’s claim that their custom RTX 3070 cards should run quietly as well. As we know the Noctua Editions are the quietest air-cooled graphics cards in their class, which is a claim by Noctua and the company’s cards prove that very well.

By default, the cards are set to run at low fans speeds, and they can deliver 12.6 dB(A) fan noise at 60 °C, with the fans spinning at just 900 RPM. The cards will also switch off their fans if the GPU is operating at less than 50 °C.

The RTX 3070 Noctua Edition and RTX 3070 Noctua OC Edition will be available from the middle of this month. Neither ASUS nor Noctua have revealed how much either card costs, though.
