North London is bracing for fireworks. Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in a Sunday afternoon derby that pits two unbeaten sides against each other — and honestly, it doesn’t get much better than this for an early-season Premier League showdown.
Two Perfect Starts Collide
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been the picture of control, winning both their opening fixtures without conceding a single goal. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea have stormed out of the blocks in his first weeks in charge, scoring for fun and matching the Gunners point for point. Something has to give.
The Story So Far
Arsenal ground out a disciplined 1-0 win at Aston Villa, Bukayo Saka’s 59th-minute strike doing the damage, following a comfortable 3-0 opening-day win over Coventry. Chelsea, in contrast, have been box-office entertainment — a thrilling 4-3 win over Brighton followed their 3-2 opening victory at Fulham, with Cole Palmer and João Pedro both among the goals.

Tactical Battle
Arsenal’s defensive solidity, anchored by David Raya and marshalled through midfield by Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard, will be tested by Chelsea’s fluid, high-scoring attack. With Saliba missing at the back for the hosts, Chelsea’s front line — missing Caicedo’s control in midfield — may find gaps to exploit, setting up a genuinely open contest.
Prediction
Given Arsenal’s watertight defense and home advantage, a narrow home win looks likely — but Chelsea’s attacking form under Alonso means goals should flow regardless of the result. Expect a tense, high-quality London derby decided by fine margins.
