Some artists chase perfection. Arijit Singh chased a feeling — and it took him nearly 200 takes to find it. Arijit Singh, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, reportedly lost himself so deeply in the devotion of “Jai Jai Ram” from the upcoming epic “Ramayana” that stopping simply wasn’t an option — until the emotion, not the technicality, felt complete.

A Song Recorded With Complete Surrender
According to a source close to the production, Arijit Singh was completely immersed in the devotional spirit of “Jai Jai Ram” while recording, resulting in nearly 200 takes. Rather than fixating on technical precision, the source shared that he kept exploring new layers of emotion with every attempt, eventually letting go of the technicalities entirely and simply surrendering to the feeling of the song.
The result is a track that blends AR Rahman’s composition with Dr. Kumar Vishwas’s devotional lyrics, offering listeners an early emotional glimpse into the world of “Ramayana” — one built around faith, valour, and reverence for Lord Rama.
What Is “Ramayana” About?
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, “Ramayana” is a highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of the timeless Hindu epic, releasing as a two-part saga across Diwali 2026 and 2027. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi essays Goddess Sita, while Yash takes on the pivotal role of King Ravana. The ensemble cast further includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, along with Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and Vivek Oberoi in key roles.
The first instalment of “Ramayana” is scheduled to release worldwide on November 6, 2026, building considerable anticipation with each new song and glimpse released so far.
What’s Next For Ranbir Kapoor?
Beyond “Ramayana,” Ranbir Kapoor also has “Love & War” in his pipeline, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. With filming recently wrapped, the film is expected to release in theatres on January 21, 2027.
