Second Schedule Is On — And STR Looks Transformed
Producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu officially announced via social media that Arasan has entered its second shooting schedule. The image shared from the sets shows director Vetrimaaran alongside STR, who sports a stylish and rugged look in this new schedule.
It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes image that gets fans buzzing for good reason. Every time Silambarasan TR commits to a physical transformation for a role, the expectations skyrocket — and this look is no different.
A Dream Collaboration in the Making
What makes Arasan genuinely special is its positioning. The film is set within the Vada Chennai cinematic universe, serving as a spin-off to the Dhanush starrer. That universe, known for its gritty, layered storytelling, has a deeply devoted fanbase — and this expansion is exactly what they’ve been waiting for.
The cinematic universe concept allows stories to breathe beyond a single film, and Vetrimaaran has proven he knows how to craft worlds that feel lived-in and real. Pairing that vision with STR’s intensity and Vijay Sethupathi’s effortless screen presence is a combination that practically sells itself.
The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first-ever collaboration with Vetrimaaran — a milestone pairing that alone has fans excited.
Vetrimaaran has also revealed that the shoot for Arasan will be quicker than his previous projects since he completed the writing in advance, and that footage from the film will be released soon. Given how meticulously Vetrimaaran works, that’s a significant statement.
