Apple finally launched the most awaited iPhone 12 series including four different variants. There is a Mini version introduced in the series which is the mini version of the iPhone 12. Whereas, we also got the premium range along with the budget segment which includes the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both these smartphones are the top of the iPhones of this year along with Apple’s latest innovation A14 Bionic chip and this time all the iPhones will come with Apple’s 5G connectivity.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max specifications
Apple iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max run on iOS 14 and come with Super Retina XDR OLED displays — featuring a Ceramic Shield glass cover on top. As claimed by Apple, Ceramic Shield glass is the toughest glass present on any smartphone ever. The screen sizes measure 6.1” on the iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7” on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both models have OLED displays and they run at 60Hz refresh rate. The screen resolution has also got a boost where iPhone 12 Pro has up to 1,170 x 2,532 px and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is up to 1,284 x 2,778 px.
The design has also changed a bit from last time making the iPhone flat-edged and the stainless steel borders on all sides along with Ceramic Shield glass make it 4x more drop resistance of previous the glass. The new design focuses on larger screen sizes and minimized bezels for an amazing experience. Considering the entire design, it’s 11% thinner, 15% smaller, and 16% lighter than earlier iPhones.
Needless to mention about the Apple’s A14 Bionic chip which is powering the whole iPhone 12 series. This was first introduced on the latest iPad Air. Now coming to the camera portion, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, will offer 12MP triple rear cameras with a wide (f/1.6), ultra-wide (f/2.4), and an additional telephoto (f/2.0 on Pro and f/2.2 on Pro Max) lens. They also include a LiDAR (a portmanteau of light and radar) scanner for better autofocus in low light (and Night-mode Portraits), improved depth photography, and augmented reality (AR) measurements.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max carries a 47% larger wide camera sensor than the iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro offers 4x optical zoom while the iPhone 12 Pro Max offers a 5x optical zoom with the telephoto sensor. Both models feature a 12MP f/2.2 front camera.
They will also offer 4K Dolby Vision HDR video recording and on-device editing of the result. Along with these features, the Night Mode on the iPhone 12 series has also been maintained but has been improved to deliver better low-light results, this time including the front camera. A night-mode time-lapse feature will also be launched. A new feature named Apple ProRAW will be available on Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max providing users a professional post-photography experience in photo app as well as in third-party apps.
The earlier iPhones have the support of wireless charging, but the user needs to place the handset at the proper place. Otherwise many problems like slow charging arose. As a solution, Apple comes with the MagSafe charging technology. With the use of MagSafe accessories i.e. MagSafe case and MagSafe Wallet, the phone aligns perfectly on the charging pad.

Availability of Apple iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
Apple iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in Gold, Graphite, Pacific Blue, and Silver colour variants. Pre-order of Apple iPhone 12 Pro will start on October 16 in the US, the UK, Japan, Germany, China, and Australia, before going on sale from October 23. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max will go up for pre-orders on November 6 in the US and will be available for the first time on November 13.
India availability for all models except the iPhone 12 has yet to be detailed.
