Apple iPad shipments could grow over 20% YoY in 2020

Apple’s one of most promising product linup is always its tablets dubbed as iPads, since their inception, iPads have been a massive hit and year over year, Apple has introduced various models for it.

Also, Apple’s new iPadOS 14 has really helped to push the limits of iPads and make them even more popular and useful. Now, a recent report from Digitimes states that this year’s iPad shipments will be incrementing year-over-year by as much as 20%.

Supply chain makers have begun ramping up related shipments since September with the momentum likely to peak in November, said the sources, adding that combined monthly shipments of the new 10.9-inch ‌iPad‌ Air and 10.2-inch ‌iPad‌ devices during the September-November period will reach over six million units.

The Taiwan-based General Interface Solution (GIS), is one of the major suppliers of ‌iPad‌ touch panels, has expanded capacity at its Chinese plant. According to DigiTimes‘ sources, they will be making an additional capacity of 500,000 units a month to become available in early 2021.

It is said that GIS has even reported revenues of $420.11 million, that is up by 13% sequentially, and 0.32% year-on-year, on the other hand, the January-September revenues totalled at $3.11 billion, up by 4% year-on-year.

Apple has already started shipping the iPad 8th gen across the globe; however, the iPad Air 4 is still to become available in the coming days of October.
