Apple fixes call drop issues on iPhone 12, iPhone 13 with iOS 15.1.1 update

Apple has released iOS 15.1.1, a minor update to its iOS 15 software that focuses on improving call drop performance for iPhone 13 and iPhone 12.

The release of the iOS 15.1.1, an updated version of the iOS 15.1, fixes the call drop performance issue on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 as well as the usual bug fixes.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 users have recently experienced consistent dropped calls on their devices, preventing them from receiving incoming calls.

iOS 15.1 was released last month and it brings a host of new features including ProRes video for the iPhone 13 Pro as well as SharePlay. If you’re using an iPhone 13 Pro, you can turn off auto macro permanently under settings but it appears that this isn’t good enough for most users. As reported recently, Apple will improve its macro interface by adding a macro button in the camera app for the upcoming iOS 15.2 update.

You can update your iPhone to iOS 15.1.1 a by heading to the Settings app, choosing General, then choosing Software Update. The build number for today’s update is 19B81. It clocks in at around 400mb in size on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Today’s release of iOS 15.1.1 comes two weeks after Apple released tvOS 15.1.1 to the public for Apple TV users. Apple is also still beta testing iOS 15.2, which could be released to the public as soon as sometime this month.

According to Apple’s release notes, the update addresses a problem that could cause podcasts to fail to play on the HomePod and HomePod mini. Apple’s smart speakers will automatically update themselves, but users can do it manually.
