Apple‘s team of employees working on the company’s first electric vehicle has been dissolved temporarily, but it has to be reorganized within the next three to six months in order to be able to meet its goal of reaching the mass production stage by 2025.

This news arrives from analyst Min-Chi Kuo who conveyed this via a tweet earlier on Tuesday. Apple’s plans to make its own EV have faced a lot of bumps in the road since its inception in 2014, recently in November 2021, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was speeding its work on the EV aiming for one with full self-driving capabilities.

He went on to add that Apple was aiming for a 2025 launch date but that also could be delayed due to development challenges.

Kevin Lynch, Apple’s VP of technology had been reassigned to head the Apple Car project in September 2021, this comes after a report claimed that John Giannandrea was overseeing the development of this project in 2021, indicating that there has been a change in leadership.

Foxconn and Luxshare are rumored to be the top candidates to produce the Apple Car as per a report by DigiTimes Asia. The two firms are two key manufacturers for Apple products and they have already entered the EV market, aiming for a strong manufacturing capability by the time Apple is finished with its development stage.

Apple Car rumors have been circulating for years now, although it will not debut anytime soon so it looks like we can expect the car to launch in 2025 as scheduled.
