Angry Birds Movie 3 Trailer: Red Becomes a Dad and the Island Needs Saving Again

Red has always been the grumpiest hero on Bird Island, but now he’s a father too. The new Angry Birds Movie 3 trailer shows our short-tempered red bird trying to juggle family life while a huge threat heads for the island. It’s funny and chaotic, and it looks like a very good time at the cinema.

What the Trailer Shows?

The trailer picks up with Red starting a family with Silver. Fatherhood isn’t going smoothly, and managing several kids is a challenge even for a bird with a temper. Then an extinction-level threat lands on the island again. Red must team up with his family and old friends Chuck and Bomb for another rescue mission. It’s a fun mix of family chaos and big adventure, which is just what a holiday-season release needs.

Voice Cast: Familiar Faces and Fresh Voices

Jason Sudeikis returns as Red, with Josh Gad, Danny McBride and Rachel Bloom back in their roles. New additions include Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Tim Robinson, Psalm West, James Austin Johnson and Anthony Padilla. Keke Palmer, Lily James, Sam Richardson, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, Marcello Hernandez, Anna Cathcart and MrBeast are also on board, though their roles are still under wraps.

The Story So Far

If you need a refresher, the first film came out in 2016. Red befriended Chuck and Bomb in anger management class, then led the charge to rescue the birds’ stolen eggs from the pigs. In the 2019 sequel, birds and pigs put aside their prank war to take on Zeta’s powerful superweapon on Eagle Island. That ended in peace between the two sides, which sets up Red’s new challenge as a parent.

Jisoo Adds a K-Pop Spark

The film also gets a boost from music, with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo set to release a new track for the movie. That should bring K-pop fans to theatres alongside the usual family crowd.
