Ange Postecoglou and Son Heung-Min win manager and player of the month awards in September 2023

Tottenham Hotspur have had a dream start under Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian leading the team to an unbeaten start. Now, the Australian has won the Barclays Manager of the Month award for a second consecutive month, making history in the process.

No other manager in the history of the competition has won the award twice in a row. The only other manager who won the award twice in one season was Jurgen Klopp in 2019/20, the year Liverpool went on to win the league. Perhaps this could be a sign for things to come for Tottenham this year, with the club currently at the top of the league alongside Arsenal.

Son Heung-Min has grown into the number 9 role extremely well, replacing his former attacking partner Harry Kane. The Tottenham captain has been leading from the front, scoring six goals in the league thus far.

The Korean scored a hat-trick against Burnley at Turf Moor, two goals in the North London derby against Arsenal and the opening goal against Liverpool as Spurs beat them for the first time since 2017.

Last month, James Maddison won the award in his first month as a Tottenham Hotspur player. And in September, the Lilywhites have continued to dominate the Premier League with their remarkable performances.
