Android’s Smart Selection Tool now supports Unit Conversions: How to access it?

Unit conversion has now become one of the most important things in our daily lives. For example, if we want to buy a smartphone that gets launched in foreign countries, but not in India, we have to get a clearer vision of the pricing of that smartphone when it will be launched in India. That time, the unit conversion will be necessary. To make our livers a little easier, Google has come up with a new feature with its smart selection tool that can convert the unit of something in your text. Now let’s breakdown the feature and try to gather brief information about it.

This unit conversion feature from Google is connected to the smart text selection tool that Google introduced in Android back in 2017. This text selection tool mainly enables you to highlight text and in every app, you can use this feature. For example, if you select an address, this will make you jump directly into Google Maps. In addition to the unit conversion feature, it makes the tool much more convenient. Let’s see how it works.

How can you access it?

Whenever you’re going through a text and you need to convert something in it. For this, you need to simply long-press and select the text. After selecting, a pop-up will appear including the new ‘Convert’ button with the Google logo. Next, you need to tap on it to open the Google app in which you can see the required conversion. Like you’re viewing any recipe in the kitchen or wanting to convert any currency or measurement, this feature will surely help you in every aspect. This unit converter mainly tracks your location first and on the basis of your location, it displays the results.
