A Twitter user recently shared a screenshot of his Indigo travel ticket, which showed an additional price known only as the “cute fee.” This has gained popularity on social media and is now the topic of new jokes and memes.

I know I’m getting cuter with age but never thought ⁦@IndiGo6E⁩ would start charging me for it. pic.twitter.com/L7p9I3VfKX

Users mistook the abbreviation for the adjective “cute” for the price. The user claimed in a tweet that he was aware of his aging charm but had no idea @IndiGo6E would start charging him for it.

Indigo and CUTE Fee

CUTE stands for Common User Terminal Equipment. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) typically levies fees for the use of escalators, auto walks, metal detectors, and other amenities at airports.

Next they may charge for using their Planes toilets and it will be called "Loo fee "

On another user’s tweet, Indigo confirmed that the Common User Terminal Equipment (CUTE) fees are assessed at specific airports for the use of CUTE services. When airports were held by the government, these fees, according to one user, were not assessed.

Private operators like Adani, GMR, and others who developed them on a BOT or build and operate models that allow them to earn money during their lifetimes are in charge of a significant number of modernized airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and other cities.

Charges for resources that make it easier for both customers and employees to operate are known as “handling fees” for travelers.

The sources claim that CUTE also enables travelers, regardless of the airline they are flying with, to check-in at any counter. It is a piece of software that allows several airlines to run their applications on a single check-in platform.
