AMD’s CEO confirms RDNA3 GPUs are coming in 2022

Gamers are already eager to buy new GPUs in 2022 as their prices finally reduce and now there’s another good news. As expected having posted a record-breaking 2021 revenue, AMD has confirmed that RDNA3 is indeed on track and the next-gen GPU architecture for Radeon 7000 series will coming by the end of this year.

As promised, most likely we will see both AMD Zen4 based CPUs and RDNA3 GPUs being launched at the end of the year, as we saw in 2020 with Zen3 and RDNA2.

Turning to 2022. Demand for our product is very strong, and we look forward to another year of significant growth and share gains as we ramp our current products and launch our next wave of Zen 4 CPUs and RDNA 3 GPUs. We have also made significant investments to secure the capacity needed to support our growth in 2022 and beyond.

If you do not know, why it’s even more exciting with the RDNA3 is because of the new Multi-Chip-Module design that promises substantial gain in performance. The upcoming Navi 31 and Navi 32 GPUs are suspected to feature up to 15360 Stream Processors, thanks to the use of two GPU dies, this is 3x more stream processors you see in the current flagship RX 6900 XT (5120).

Yes, this time the performance leap is said to be even better than last time, while AMD said previously that these GPUs will use “Advanced Node”, rumours say it will be a mixture of TSMC N5 and N6 process technology.

This makes sense as AMD has already confirmed the Ryzen 7000 series to use a 5nm process and AMD is already using the 3D Chip Stacking technology in partnership with TSMC, so combining two GPU dies together is no big deal for AMD. They already did the same on the client-based CDNA2 MI200 accelerators, however, procuring such a large amount of 5nm chips will be a thing to watch in 2022.

While Dr. Lisu Su did confirm that RDNA3 is coming in 2022 itself to keep its investors happy, still, we do not know if it asserts to a retail launch or just an announcement.
