AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors launched, offers 45% more battery life

The Red team has finally made their professional Zen 3+ based Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors available on laptops by various OEMs for professionals. Built on the powerful 6nm “Zen 3+” core architecture with enhanced AMD RDNA 2 graphics, these new processors provide significant battery life improvements over last-gen.

As per AMD’s data, a Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 with Ryzen ™7 PRO 6860Z has up to 17% faster performance when using MS Office productivity apps such as PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook while simultaneously running Microsoft Teams conferencing. This comparison is against Intel’s latest Core ™i7 1260P CPU running on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon.

AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 Series Processors Offer Working Professionals Up to 45% More Battery Life for Video Conferencing

Also, the battery life comparisons or claims have been based on the same set of laptops used for AMD’s testing. This is natural because AMD is using a better 6nm process technology than Intel and with lesser cores can significantly increase battery life which is essential for productivity users.

Available on every Ryzen PRO processor, AMD PRO technologies provide leaders with the confidence to keep their organizations protected and their employees productive, while supporting a distributed workforce. AMD PRO Technologies represents an industry-wide partnership, where AMD is working with Microsoft and our OEM partners to deliver increasingly protected solutions.

With security threats expected to continue to grow, AMD is committed to and continues to demonstrate strong innovation around the security solutions on Ryzen PRO processors.

In addition to the next generation of HP EliteBooks and Lenovo ThinkPads, which will be powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors, you’ll find Ryzen PRO inside many other business laptops, Chromebooks, desktops and workstations alike with over 20% more platforms coming in 2022 than last year.

In partnership with AMD’s OEM providers, which also include Acer, Asus and Dell, AMD continues to deliver leadership Commercial platforms, addressing the new needs for business users and IT departments.
