AMD Ryzen 6000 notebook roadmap leaked, Zen 3+ based Rembrandt confirmed but Van Gogh is cancelled

AMD is looking to hold its position it has achived in the notebook market and that’s why the new leak from @Broly_X1 suggests AMD’s next-gen Ryzen 6000 series Rembrandt mobile APUs is on track and will be based out of 6nm process.

It is strange that AMD has cancelled plans for Zen3+ desktop processors, but Rembrandt for laptops is happening and will launch in 2022 on the new FP7 socket.

The roadmap confirms the existence of Zen 3+ architecture on laptops, and the 45W TDP based Rembrandt-H will finally bring support for PCIe Gen4, LPDDR5, and DDR5 memory along with USB4 ports. Much like the H-series, the (15W) Rembrandt-U variant will also have the same specs but with lower wattage.

AMD will also adopt the same strategy it did last year by copying Renoir onto Lucienne APUs and this time too it supposed to copy Cezanne-U to launch it as the new Barcelo-U APUs. However, there will be physical changes to the silicon, so it’s essentially not just a mere refresh technically.

What’s more, disheartening to hear is that the much rumoured and leaked Van Gogh APUs seem to be cancelled as per Vegeta. Termed to be used for ‘premium form factors’, these APUs could be revolutionary because they packed the same Zen 2 + Navi2 combo, which we see in new PlayStations and Xboxes.

However, it is suspected that Dragon Crest, which seems a refresh of Van Gogh with the same Zen2 cores and Navi2 integrated graphics, could end up launching 2022. It could still use AMD’s much loved 7nm process and operate at 9W and support LPDDR5 memory.

Also, when we have seen AMD is planning to bring FidelityFX Super Resolution soon, these new AMD products could utilize this tech to upscale images regardless of the platform, CPU or even GPU. AMD is supposed to launch all of these Rembrandt, Dragon Crest, and Barcelo products in 2022, and we could see them at CES in January.
